Come on. These rule changes alleviate a bunch of crappy situations that were technically disqualifying but shouldn't have been. While these are very good changes, ashi garami is still dead. I hope your guess about the future turns out to be correct.
I really liked the head dive rule. I know its a bit controversial but from a sporting point of view no one should risk being crippled while doing a sport - its just not worth it. And from a martial arts point of view it makes sense too. Because we are saying our throws can and should end fights - but if in the process of throwing an opponent you are smashing your own head into the floor what kind of sense is that? :) I wish that stayed tbh
Can you check on Jason Morris judo in wrestling and do some no gi tutorial based on some of his techniques like when they take his back and he does some kind of osoto gari?
Nah ... if you want to do MMA go to a MMA gym. I want to grapple safely as a hobby for fun. I don't want my ACL torn, I don't want my neck broken. I'm all about training safely. That being said we could definitely loosen up some of the rules. I would 100% have been up for having some kind of rule set with some kind of leg grabs in.
Shintaro, you should do a video to show what this all means in a randori session and how a person is able to behave ..I sure it will show perverted beahviour and Dangerous skill...We all want to be good in or Judo but more important be Safe and healthy and with good mental health Remember Judo have all sorts of Players ...Blind , Disabled and Kids and Women and old and Mentallly ill who get help in training from there Problems in doing Judo . The New Rules Don't help this Lot.
This is a rules change for the mentally impaired I think and who will mess up Judo in skill's and performance ..Touching the Butt or Bottom is a big mistake in my view and opens the way for perverts. Judo was doing a lot to end perverted ways and Coaching which was very needed in the Sport or all Sports , this is worrying for Saftey with Kids and Woman and non Gay's or Lesibans everyone. Perverts are a problem in all sports and this I think allows perverts to 'Fob' people off . This new rules should be seriously Questioned in this and Cheating in the Techniques Skills area to allow Scores. Not Good in my view.
Thanks guys for doing this rules review and prediction talk! Merry holiday times to you.
Excited to see Sensei Brian on! Seattle Dojo represent

You should be able to win on cumulative yuko scores because that's basically what they do nowadays by shido

Why are you asking this type of question on a video that explains a new rule set?
The way to save judo is to go the way of bare knuckle boxing's resurgence. Pure judo, atemi no banned techniques, MMA rule set.

@Sam-rb1id compared to when I started as a kid in the 80's competitive judo is basically ballroom dancing now.
@@seanOfLegend But why not just do MMA if you want to fight under MMA ruleset?

A step out point is one of the most important rules in grappling Sports, any grappling sport that doesn't respect it is making a huge failure

The limitation to Judo as a martial art needs to stop...
