I don't do Judo but I find your channel so cool! I came here initially for the weight cutting videos that you posted some years ago and I stayed for the good and very professionally content you upload!

This needs to be seen more. No one talks about Judo strategy, theory, types of player etc outside inividual clubs. BJJ has a conversation with itself about its metagame, but you cant find this stuff about judo from google

I'm a whitebelt and can literally grip strong enough that - if I decide in that moment - almost any black belt in my club cannot break it first try, or even 4th try. But I still get tossed because I still cant throw for ish lol. Sometimes even when I get the really awesome grips they look at me like ok man, do something with it, throw me! And I'm like "Im trying :\" lol

Same from years of power lifting I'm pretty strong though retired from it now. But the sensai and bigger guys always comment how strong I am but being only 1 month into judo my technique is junk and my moves are all telegraphed lol. Fun sport but damn it beats you up

Thank you for this, I very much appreciate these discussions as a judoka who is unable to train but always looking for ideas on how to not stagnate my inspiration and technique. To be exact, there is no one that teaches judo within a 2 hr drive of me, as my sensei retired. I use a grappling dummy and bungi cords to practice movement and technique, but that has a ceiling. If you were able to do a show on something related to being someone who wants to train, but cant; I would find this helpful I am sure. Thank you again guys.

@Mr. Heatlaire I did Greco Roman wrestling not sumo. But I love watching sumo with my Japanese grandpa when I was a kid.

Is 2 classes a week enough to be an average judoka?

Is it not the key is balance and knowing what you actually can do and having the mental ability to not injure your opponent, partner. Technique, strategy, application and continual learning. Great content I am enjoying this Channel.

I'm 65 and I practiced for more than 15 years. Your videos are fresh, dynamic and accessible to anyone. One question: what is your point of view about kata? many thanks for your commitment.

I follow your concept well when it comes to turn throws but how does one apply this same logic to ashi waza and newaza?

(Higashi concepts). Putting it in with the Judo evening program classes and getting people to coach this system can be a challenge. I totally agree in this way of developing judo. Nice !!. Judo Crusader vid 25 is a basic run of a concept, leave a comment.

i wonder if there's a style for someone who can get very strong but fundamentally just isn't very powerful, and just lacks speed.

I think this format is a bit long for youtube. It's really interesting but it's difficult for me to take a full hour watch it. 20-25 minutes would be good in my opinion.

You should do a video series: Judoka vs Football Player where you travel around beating up college/hs/pro football players to show the superior athleticism of Judoka/martial artists/Asians
It's be a bit internet series and you'd be a bit of a cultural hero to Asian Americans, dispelling the lies and self deluded beliefs of those who see roided up football players as some kind of superior men
