Hello Everyone: This video illustrates an easy way to accomplish a maltipoo "pet cut". I hope you enjoy this video. If you have any questions please leave them below in the comment section.
Thank you for the instructions. We have just adopted a Maltipoo, so will have a go at cutting his very overgrown coat! Hoping my hairdressing skills will help! I have always cut our Yorkies but this will be a totally new challenge!
Thank you for this video . I plan on getting a Maltipoo as a birthday gift to my self in April and I have been watching as many videos as I can prior for education and reference . I plan on grooming my dog myself if I can , so this is so helpful !
You are so sweet and patiently with this doggy.....good job!!! Wish you would live here on the island....I would bring my two maltipoos every time to you...instead of doing it myself😉. I groom them every four weeks, so that the heat doesnt bother them. Do you have any advise for me, on how to keep there eyes stainfree??? Happy New Year and tropical greetings from Bonaire
Hello Joan Thank you so much for leaving me a comment regarding your two maltipoos. There are a few options you can utilize to keep their eyes stain free. First being, you can go to your local vet and they can prescript eye drops that will help with the drainage. Second option you can try is called "angel eyes" its a solution sold over the counter at pet stores. Lately, I heard of face wipes you can purpose to maintain their eye drainage to a minimal. Hope those recommendations help you =)
I didn’t want a dog. No waaaaaaaay! Then someone gave us a 9 week old Maltipoo puppy. We named him Reddington. He’s 3.5 months old now and I am the Hooman that has been spoiling him. #Guilty #FurDaddy

From the discoloration of his aws, hes probably itchy from allergies, thats why it's matted, hes such a sweet baby! And im left handed sousing right handed anything is a bit difficult lol
You are by far the sweetest most patient groomer I have seen. I have just recently been gifted a maltipoo puppy and her fur has grown so much. I would love it if you would give her first grooming. Where are you located and how can I schedule her appointment?
I use a mutlitude of shears for feet. My favorite shears are from Evolution shears curved, thinning and clunkers. My favorite straight shears are my Washi shears. I also often use my straight and curved Geib Gators. For a more affordable shear I would choose Aussie Shears. I have an older video of my favorite tools at that time on my channel. Hope this helps
@@lmrodgers07 They only sale them at the expos now. I would recommend glib gators as your starting scissors. You can find these on amazon or on their website.
Great tips. Thank you. Music though is a bit too much, with buzz and you talking over. Otherwise very nice job. Very sweet doggy too. Straight forward class .👍
Yes I hold my scissors incredibly weird. I'm left handed so they never gave me left handed scissors as a child so I just went with the flow. And thank you I so appreciate it.
My maltipoo has short hair on her face, she doesn’t require any grooming around the eyes or snout. But she looks like a black lion as she has most of her hair around her neck and paws lol. She is just over 11 mo and she has major problems with me grooming her feet.. any tips?
I would desensitize her by touching and safely grabbing foward her feet, when she asks good reward her with something (ex treat) positive reinforcement is the best. If that doesn't work, you can always hound hammock her which is holding her off the ground in order to trim the legs easily.
I use the and is 5 speed and wall bruvara. If you're not a professional groomer I would avoid blades such as #30, #10, #40 and all other blades should be FC example 7FC because skip tooth blades can be dangerous =)
Hello Roxanne; Thank you so much for your question. No, giving your dog a bath at home (granted you are using puppy shampoo) and blow drying should not be thinning their hair out. This is actually incredibly crucial to expose your puppy to grooming practices to ensure they understand grooming is a chore they must undergo often. Puppies do loose their "puppy hair, and transition to their adult eventually" but I believe 3 months is too young for this to happen (typically this occurs at the 6 months mark. However; often if dogs aren't exposed to a lot of sun it may take longer). I would recommend contacting your vet with this concern because it is not normal and they may be able to figure out what the underlining issue. Thanks so much for watching my video =)

Hi Nicole, I will be getting my new Maltipoo in a week, he will be about 6 weeks when he comes home, how often should I groom him, and what should I be doing to take cares of his fur at such a young age?
Hello Reema You want to start bathing him now, and using your blow dryer on no heat to acclimate him to grooming. In addition, you want to purchase a non-abrasive slicker brush to brush him out while bathing him and in-between every few days. You do not want to bring him into a professional groomer until he is 16 weeks which is when he will have all his shots. I hope that helped. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask them there. Nicole Dunn
I have a maltipoo, i groom her myself. I have always groomed my dogs. My yorkies have always been so calm & easy, but my darling Maltipoo can't stand the clippers, therefore I have to use my hairdressing scissors which takes ages.
@TRISHA MOSS I can't speak about other groomers' practices. But I don't know 1 groomer in a decade that would sedate a dog without a clients permission. Some dogs, especially ones acclimated to grooming at an early one, are just used to the process and therefore sit with confidence
Sorry, but I can hardly understand what you are saying - that background music is not only horrible, it is also just too loud. Would love to watch, but for the music...
Hello Great question, Dogs unlike cats do not utilize their whispers to navigate their surroundings. This is because of how the whiskers are connected within each animals body. The difference to why this is fact with cats stiffer hair (vibrissae) are embedded deeply in the cats body. The vibrissae are connected securely to their sensitive muscular and nervous system. These send information about the surroundings directly to the cat's sensory nerves. Also, just for added information neither cat or dog whiskers have the ability to aide with smell. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Nicole,
What type of shampoo should I be using for my Maltipoo, he is only 9wks.
Hello Rachael
Any "puppy" tearless dog shampoo will do. If you have a Petco near you I recommend the brand Espree.
Right now puppy shampoo, which is mild would be the best. I recommend Bio-groom.
Usually cut my schnauzer so I needed a multipoo tutorial for my new puppy 😭
Congrats on your new puppy. Start him/her out young by playing with their feet, blow drying them, and acclimate them to scissors and brushes.
What age should I start getting my maltipoo trimmed up?
Right after they are fully vaccinated. Usually at 4 months.
Such a good boy
He is!
I have a maltipoo but he’s more on the poodle side. Would love advice for him since his fur is curly!
Hello Susy

What size blade were you using with the 5/8 guard?
#30
Thanks a lot, me and my maltipoo watched it together. Could you please , write your brush brand name?
This brush is not discontinued, however I recommend Chris Christensen brushes specifically the coral brush
What clippers do you use?
What size blade?
I used an andis 5 speed clipper attached to a clipper vac. I use a 30 blade under a 5/8 comb
What electric clippers do you recommend
