OMG...will there ever be anything like this again? Real musicians, real vocals, real dancing? No auto-tune, no pre-recorded background...LIVE MUSIC both in and out of the studio!!!

Despite the problems with Ike, their Ike & Tina Turner Revue was AWESOME. I have been to several hundred concerts over the years and their show has ALWAYS been my favorite. I saw them at UD Arena in the early 70's. I had front row seats too! It was 2 1/2 + hours of PURE kick-ass rock!. I went to concerts ALL the time.
thats one of the hottest performances I've ever seen with the band playing its ass off and her and the ikettes dancing in those mini skirts and heels all i can say is ike knew what he was doing i watched this more than a few times
In the seventies and eighties I saw Tina LIVE four or five times both with Ike and on her own and once after her comeback of the eighties. I saw her in both large and small venues. To me this was the "Greatest Show on Earth".

so sad she passed away. Her live performances esp. in the 1970s were superb (back then with the Ikettes). And the soul music (plus her amazing hair) was way more exciting than the 80s pop stuff.
AMAZING DANCE ROUTINE THEY HAD! The Ikettes had beautiful voice & Tina & the girls had amazing energy & precision dancing! This is what you call entertainment. You gotta look real hard to find quality music entertainment in 2012
They both kinda copied eachother vocally and physically early in Tina’s career you can see her doing all that same footwork and throughout her vocal career she did those screeches
Exactly, it is amazing how she could sing, dance, and never be short of breath song after song. I hear these so-called stars of today often lip sync their song while dancing. NOT TINA.
This is what I'm talking about. From beginning to end she rocked it. Although the ending was simply the best. No pun intended. I also love that the audience is full of white guys melting for Tina. That must have been a big blow to Ike Turner's ego. Oh well, that's life.
I would think that Ike would be proud that white guys lusted after Tina. It was a very new thing in those days. Also the Ikettes stirred up MANY white guys who before, never realized how beautiful and sexy black women actually were.
I own this concert on DVD and I must say this intro dance number is one of their best...I say their in meaning of #Ike and #TinaTurner with #theIkettes...👍🏾💯
Where was this concert? Wish i had it on DVD. I can never get over the energy she has to sing and dance like that and never seems to be short of breath. Man, she was 69 during her final tour and could still keep up with dancers half her age. An amazing performer!! Watch the video of her in Britain where she goes out on the arm and back that extends over the audience--- 69, in heels--- and no safety railing!
@K Stewart This concert took place in Holland, in January of 1971, after Paris, when they were touring Europe. You should be able to find the DVD on Amazon.
I had tickets to see Ike N Tina along with Alice Cooper N others who I don't remember. This show was cancelled due to poor to ticket sales it was a Brooklyn venue and it was summer of 1971.. anyone remember this event?

Exactly. Tina was not only a world class singer, but a world class athlete whose job called for her to sing at the same time she worked out onstage, in mini dresses and heels and on the downbeat, so to speak. Ike was a beast, but he had the creative vision and discipline that produced hands down the tightest touring band in popular music in the past 60 years. Tina always lauded his music talent, but she just couldn't live anymore with his dark side, and I'm sure those experiences robbed her of the ability to enjoy the memory of what the two of them accomplished. Nevertheless, their creative chemistry is unequalled to this day. Sad on multiple levels, Tina lost her sense of safety and security and had to struggle for years, Ike lost any recognition for the music things he achieved and struggled for the rest of his life I believe..., his dark side perpetually defined him in this life, and their kids paid a terrible price as well. Two dead before their mother passed, one in permanent care facility due to drug induced stroke and brain damage, and the remaining son was in jail for drugs less than 30 days before Tina's own passing. Both Ike and Tina grew up in abusive homes. The scars ran deep. I wholeheartedly wish for both of them healing and enlightenment in the next life, as Tina's Buddhism beliefs clarified... and believe it or not I especiallywish that for Ike. Tina was on an enlightened positive path from her years of practicing Buddhism. Ike didn't get there in this life... He also deserved not just success or recognition, but enlightenment and peace. I wish for nothing less for him and I believe she did too. Peace.
@gregilicious85 He introduced Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm at the beginning of the show, and he introduced the Ikettes. The introduction always occur like that, since Ike and Tina began performing.

Agreed. Bey knows the mark has been set unbelievably high. She has a lot to offer, the best she can do is simply try to get in tune spiritually and better herself in all things. I think she is much more secular in her thinking than Tina; her quest for money seems all-consuming to me. Tina always had spiritual thoughts and aspirations to a higher plane of existence. I think this is a key difference. Don't get me wrong, Bey seems to have a similar work ethic, and Tina never took a vow of poverty lol! Both women have worked hard to live well, but Tina learned to make spiritual health top priority. I don't think Bey is there yet. Her husband is a bit questionable in my opinion. But I know nothing about them personally. Time will tell.
