Ha ha - but did he shake it up and down on either side like he so memorably does with his head and hands? Not mocking - love his passion, expertise and brilliant analysis/ insights, especially when he draws on his expertise in literature and drama. I’ve learned so much from him in all these lectures. Prof Thornburn, if you’re reading this, an immense thank you! A very grateful teacher of literature and film.
"Camera brings allows the viewer to be apart of the creating of the film" I was anticipating the camerawork after the first two times they mirrored the prof's words. Love it even if I was giggling. Film students really just go beyond the assignment
ivan grozny part I and II, from eisenstein, everyone passing by the comment section, plz take a moment of your time and go see these movies i mentioned.
35:00 I hope everyone in that classroom watched the movie before talking about it. I be fucking pissed if the professor or anyone spoils basically the whole movie before watching it.
I find it absolutely hilarious that the videographer was literally inspired by the professor's words in real time and was trying to be cinematic. Lol. Unfortunately it doesn't work, because this lecture is about the content, not the pretentiousness of the videographer. Still a great lecture tho!
This camerawork is absolutely phenomenal and borderline experimental.
Loving the cameraman mimicking what Prof. Thorburn is explaining around minute 19:00
Alessandro Grassi hahahahaha!! Cameraman totally nailed it
Haha interesting!

Yeehaw, he's talking about the textbook I'm studying out of! God bless the fact that this is on the internet.
17:51 Dude finds his excel sheet more interesting than the Renoir lecture.
props to whoever was filming this lecture and their on-the-spot demonstrations of what the professor is describing 😂😂
Hahahaha camera supports the Professor in addition to scenes of Renoir in the first dimension to create the great applied, "Inception"al, teaching.
Thankyou for the class!
