Brilliant as always Jeff. Thank you once again for another comprehensive build video. Sab have done their homework yet again, quality and simplicity abounds. Looking forward to part 3. Take care and stay safe mate.
Thanks Rob! Yes they did! They really thought about the design with this one and did an outstanding job! Very low part count yet super strong and everything locks together just like typical SAB fashion!
@@DadsRCHangar so any heli with a good FBL will have great auto level or stabilization. Get a Ikon/Brain 2 FBL. Now setting up the FBL could be tricky and little to learn for your first time but luckily I got videos on it!
HI Jeff, I found the problem with the dampers, you are supposed to install them with the lip facing the centre hub however if you do that you get loads of play, so to solve the problem if you look in the spares bag there is 4 o rings 2 for tail 2 for the head , I noticed the o ring is slightly larger for the head than the o rings put in the assembly bag so I fitted them and no play, problem solved, I have notified Enrico at SAB and he is looking in to it. 👍

As long as everything is going the right Direction on the bench then get it light on it’s skids and see if it’s solid and if it looks/feels good lift off! If the gyro directions are correct tail direction is correct and gain is set for the tail. It will fly great!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 thanks. Yeah everything is going the right direction and soo is the gyro. Probably just nervous because its my first build. I think its all good though. If the wind and rain would stop and I get any daylight while im not at work ill maiden it.
Have you had any issues with tail wag that you couldnt tune out with tail gain on this heli? If I increase the gain on mine the wag gets more narrow and fast. If I decrease it the wag gets bigger and slower but I can completely get rid of it.
@@DetoursRC yes, it’s perfectly normal for the first 20ish flights. If your running the governor then also turn governor gain down. Everyone I’ve built has wagged for about 20 flights till the tail breaks in.
Hey Jeff! Great build video! I'm using the same equipment you are using in your 420, but I can't seem to find the TORQ servo grommets you are using for the tail servo. Where did you get yours? Are there any other brands of aluminum grommets I can use for that tail servo mount? Thanks!
Such a great series!! Could you give me an advice on which charger you recommend to charge (ManiaX 80C) 6S-22,2V 2400 mAh batteries? I honestly didn‘t have luck until now and seem to always buy the wrong device. At best it could handle a balanced charging process… Thank you so much!
Thank you! I’m glad the build series is helpful! So I would recommend the ISDT P30 or a Icharger 456DUO ( I have both and they are fantastic) but the iCharger 456DUO is good for up to 6s pack and the ISDT P30 is good for up to 8s packs. Both are duel ports so two battery’s at one time. You will need a separate power supply I use the Junsi S2100 power supply witch is 1200 watts but I only use that because Im Running three two port chargers at one time. But the buddyRC 900 watt power supply is a great price and good as well! Some options for you.
Quick quiestion, I do not have enough negative pitch on 420dd with vbar touch and vbar neo, everything nice and smooth @picth0, but when I move the stick down, I get max of almost -11 degrees. with my collective pitch trim pushed way to the max, 120. Before control, I had a spectrum dx6 that I force the -12,5 pitch by travel adjustment of the pitch channel and was fine. Any ideas? I have re-setup all the mechanics, everything is like in the manual, servo 90 degrees etc. So, there is an end point adjustment on control touch? Or any idea to increase the negative pitch, except to change the servo arms and to go above 13-15mm setting as manual say?
Are they needed or just preferred? They should mention that it’s needed if so. I have my setup that just came in with everything but the gromets. Would really suck if I had to wait 3-4 days for some gromets for tail servo.
these videos are really helpful, i've just (well nearly) finished building my 420 and this series came in quite handy... one question though, did you notice the tail blades rubbing on the tail shaft screws?

@@westhobbiesrc8051 ok cool, I took the tail apart, thinking I put the thrust bearings in backwards, but it still does it... In the end I just sanded off the lip a fraction...

Hi, you adjust your tail at about 4 degrees a 0 rudder, did I understand well ? I always did 0 with 0…. On my other Helis. And thanks for the great 2 videos!
Yes I always set all my tails up with the servo at zero and 2 to 4° of positive pitch at the tailblades. That is proper tail geometry and set up. If you set zero and zero then your Gyro is working harder to fight the torque when you can set it mechanically to mechanical leverage against the torque.
Yes that is normal. As long as it is smooth no grit/binding a little tight is OK. It will work free as the time goes on. It is perfectly normal anytime you build a brand new model for some parts to be a little tighter than others. You just wanna make sure it’s smooth and no grit/binding
