These are so interesting to me, I feel like you can sort of make two categories of "Creepy Mario Game". You got the popcorn ones, hyper realistic blood, cheap jumpscares, someone with a giant smile on their face, glitches etc. Then you have the artistic ones; slower pace, heavy themes, melodramatic writing, usually some PT influences. Blumhouse Mario and A24 Mario lmao. Funnily enough I think the popcorn ones are way better, I think because its easier to get past the inherently silly premise and admire some good spritework finding new ways to try and scare you. LUCAS or the one with the skinny luigi are legit fun to watch.
I think they're both silly and unscary, they only can ever plausibly work if you try to bake them into some sort of melodram narrative based IRL. Because at least then you're actually seeing some "real world" impact that can't be mitigated by simply turning the game off. I guess thats why everyone loves MyHouse.wad. The Director's Cut is simply a slightly expanded version of the game, and there's even a prequel I made called "ALPHA SPHERE Zero: Rotten Brains." That's pretty much how I roll with nearly all my projects. (Yes, I am the same "Daizo Dee Von" who made 100 Rooms of Enemies, and was involved in the recent "Law & Order: Mushroom Kingdom Unit")
@spicyboi6602 oh hey, thanks for including it in the pack! I definitely want to push the limits for my future stuff. Since 2019, I've improved my craft quite a bit. :)
It made more sense to me to use Super Mario world as a “basis” because the game already has its own fleshed out programming for its platforming. If you’re doing a project where you want to work within SNES limits and you’re making a platformer but don’t have time to code a game from the ground up, using SMW makes the most sense.
I mean, I think seeing something somewhat frightening as a child, that is more appropriate for a child, can be good I guess (depending on the child of course). Examples could be something like Coraline or something more horror-comedy like Ghostbusters. But The Exorcist? No definitely not good for a child lol
Jeez, I bet watching the exocist that young would have freaked you out. I did see Poltergeist, Akira and Jaws around that age so I can relate. For many years I was especially afraid of stuffed animals in the dark. And I thought inanimate objects were alive, and would exact revenge if I angered them. Also afraid of the drain in the bathtub, because I thought Jaws would get me if I touched it.
In the basement we hear Mario saying: “Here we go!” Which he might have done had a conveyor belt not spawned underneath his feet, suddenly drawing him away from the platform. Cradling MIPS the rabbit in his arms, Mario begins running as fast as he can, trying to out race the hole in the collision opening up behind them. Ahead, Luigi appears through a door. Mario pushes harder, edging closer and closer, until finally as he gets within reach, he tosses MIPS to Luigi, but she bounds away into the hands of the abyss before Luigi can grab her. Mario, however, has lost a lot of health. As he stays idle, he puts his hands on his knees and goes “hooh, hooh…” The conveyor carries him backwards ten or fifteen feet more and then for no apparent reason stops. Only the walls and ceiling continue their glitching around him, changing to low-poly versions, flickering, even phasing out altogether. When Luigi returns to the window, he sees his brother attempting to clear the space towards him. He is long jumping repeatedly on the conveyor going “YAHOO! YAHOO! YAHOO!” but is too slow to cover any ground. Whenever he lands a 5-foot long jump, the conveyor carries him back 7 feet before he can begin the next one. What happens next happens so fast it is impossible to realize just how brutal the closure was before it is already over. Only the after-effects create an image commensurate with the shutter like speed with which Mario’s face planted in an overhead beam, sending him falling stunned onto the conveyor belt racing below. “OOMFH!” he says. Bones “like dry pasta” (E. Gadd’s words)⁹⁹⁶ now jut out through the flesh. Blood covers his arms, as well as pours from his nose and ears. His eyes were realistic to the point that the community of online gaming creepypastas might qualify them as “hyper”⁹⁹⁷ and shot through with pure red. For a moment, Mario is flashing in and out of his invincibility frames. His squat body bounces up and down a few times before returning to his normal height. “Marioooooo!” Luigi shouts. Mario tries to run, but he has already exhausted himself. He allows himself to be swept further away from his little bro. He knows there’s no chance left to grab the power star. “I’m a tired!” Mario says. “Huhh?” Luigi yelps, as he prepares to jump down to the belt. But before he can Mario falls to his bottom and begins snoozing with a snot bubble coming out of his nose. “Nighty nighty… ahh spaghetti…” Mario’s words fade out of the range of the Lakitu Bros’ mics as his body plummets into the PU. Bowser’s laugh echoes. His face encompasses the screen for just a moment, before it closes in, soaking what remains of the level in another black void. Moments later Mario’s body reappears as he falls out of thin air, in front of the *castle*. “Mamma mia!” he says as he loses a life.
Day hasn’t been the best today, but seeing this definitely adds to the list of positives! Excited to watch once I get home from work. More spooky Mario is always a very good time!
I really recommend finishing or at least watching a full playthrough of #0 Iggy's Castle. The creator did a full guide of all the endings if you more interested in just watching.
the game with the eyeless mario and peach was a funny bit, i was 3d modelling while listening to it in the background and i kept hearing "Yahoo! Uh! WA-" before it got cut by the save state, that was funny
*heard while having this in the background that one of the rom hacks was by Rovert* I have immediately stopped what I am doing to put my full attention to the video
These games were found in Vinny's great great grand cousin's abandoned nightclub in Old York in 1972 by Seal Team 7 and the Ghost Adventures gang and were kept sealed shut in the Greenland Doomsday Vault for decades until Vinny's 39th birthday
Apparently theres about 5 endings, three at the chase (getting captured, escaping or throwing enough blocks/rings at Dr Andre), one for putting the Alpha Sphere back and one for running out of stage time.
I want another Wario Land game where Wario gets to be a reluctant hero. Like, he's given a mission from some new Mario race to stop an oppressive king or something, and Wario will do it, but only because he can loot all the kings castles and bosses for all the gold and treasure they're worth on the way.
@@barrothontherocks3325 Right, but wasn't there like a little world with people inside the music box, and Wario was their only hope against that asshole clown?
33:37 Ending Z is obtained by running into Dr. Andre during the chase sequence. There is another one if unlock Ending A and Z, but I am not skilled enough to get through it. During the chase sequence, Dr. Andre has a hp gauge so it looks like you need to fight him while running away. After getting either Z or A unlocked a block appears in the beginning to take you to the chase sequence. According to the description at SMW Central that is actually supposed to teleport you to where you died, but since I didn't "die" during the my first playthrough -in rewind I trust- it just took me back to that chase sequence.
"this has been a trend for the last five years or so" vinny, FNAF came out a decade ago. not to mention gameing creepy pastas (incuding sonic.exe the first ".exe" game) were all made from 2010-2014.
Yeah holy shit it keeps getting updates with extra endings/routes. I think that one might be the most extensive one Vinny's played content-wise barring *maybe* Coronation Day (vibes) or Alpha Sphere (complete visual/sprite rework).
i find it funny how these hacks always seem to have a lot of effort put into everything except the writing, like many of them have decent spritework, level design and music and then they go and have the corniest "horror" story you'll ever see
Jesus christ watching Vinny fail to beat the most basic mario puzzles or cry at a game because he can't take his eyes off chat for more than 3 seconds is so infuriating.
Binyot up in here at the beginning misremembering Choo-Choo Charles so badly he places it on the same tier as shit like Sonic.exe and Garten of Banban and apparently forgets that he unironically enjoyed it

Examples could be something like Coraline or something more horror-comedy like Ghostbusters. But The Exorcist? No definitely not good for a child lol
Vinny does not sound like he's having a fun time here. He just sounds so done with everything.
1:25:10 the closeness of this sound effect to Vinny's dedication scream was really the scariest thing about these games.
OK the shop in the first one is a great bit.
49:55 How does he make these noises just out of nowhere.
Scary Mario.
Scary-O
The first hack at least has actual mechanics
Dunston Checks In was one of those movies I always saw commercials for, but never saw.
1:37 when the music goes BRRRRRT I turned and saw a spider crossing across the room
And then hyper-realistic Mario jumped at me and pulled the spaghetti out of my stomach
Day hasn’t been the best today, but seeing this definitely adds to the list of positives! Excited to watch once I get home from work.
More spooky Mario is always a very good time!
I appreciate your work and hope the rest of your night is restful and fun 🎉
I really recommend finishing or at least watching a full playthrough of #0 Iggy's Castle. The creator did a full guide of all the endings if you more interested in just watching.
the rewind mechanic is like watching a live ytp
And then hyperealistic Letters M, A, R, I, O jumped out of my screen and peed on my sheets
Vinny needs to stop being silly. Soon he might be whacky and I’m worried.
I hope he wont use :3
Whacky funster :)
He might even get goofy.
he might even become the silly goose
@@sonicloverlol2 Remember when he used ;>] in that one Sonic game where Rouge shits you out of her ass?
Creepypasta fangames are always my favorite to watch here!
the game with the eyeless mario and peach was a funny bit, i was 3d modelling while listening to it in the background and i kept hearing "Yahoo! Uh! WA-" before it got cut by the save state, that was funny
Underway is one of the people behind 'the (Coronation Day), so no wonder Forest Level is so good.
As soon as I heard Binny say "Underway", I knew immediately that Forest Level would be good ^^
Though it does look pretty unfinished so far
8:44 Is that Sseth?
and then a hyper realistic mario jumped out of the tv and bought a flashlight with his soul
The castle door noise sounds like Yoda saying "Force not make one great" and I can't unhear it
I literally clapped when Vinny mentioned Dunstan Checks In
My eyes widened 👀
LUUUUCAAAAS
1:29 i like how for a moment he got off-putted by the sudden graphic change
*heard while having this in the background that one of the rom hacks was by Rovert*
I have immediately stopped what I am doing to put my full attention to the video
first hack has amazing palettes
sprites look very nice too
These games were found in Vinny's great great grand cousin's abandoned nightclub in Old York in 1972 by Seal Team 7 and the Ghost Adventures gang and were kept sealed shut in the Greenland Doomsday Vault for decades until Vinny's 39th birthday
Lore drop
Thank you 🌟
and Benito Mussolini and every single power ranger and the rock doc-oc and Chris Pratt
Seeing actual high effort is a surprise
I'm guessing that sphere game had another ending if you lose the chase sequence
Apparently theres about 5 endings, three at the chase (getting captured, escaping or throwing enough blocks/rings at Dr Andre), one for putting the Alpha Sphere back and one for running out of stage time.
1:54 the anti-aliasing on that sh**'s fire 🔥🔥
Thanks for the discord jumpscare to remind me i don't have friends, lmao
i can be your friend,,
Me too :3
Wholesome, you guys
Can we be friends
I don't want to be your friend and I don't want to know your new daffy pals
that was scary
1:01:05 if you're watching on mobile, gently shake your device to make Peach's eyes dance :)
I want another Wario Land game where Wario gets to be a reluctant hero. Like, he's given a mission from some new Mario race to stop an oppressive king or something, and Wario will do it, but only because he can loot all the kings castles and bosses for all the gold and treasure they're worth on the way.
post-game content and/or future shoutouts to this title should include a comically muscular & handsome wario statue made out of gold
That's basically Wario Land 3, isn't it?
@@0neDoomedSpaceMarine 3 is that he gets stuck in a music box and needs to collect treasure to escape, might be thinking of shake it
@@barrothontherocks3325 Right, but wasn't there like a little world with people inside the music box, and Wario was their only hope against that asshole clown?
then he gets to the kings castle, raids the treasury, and walks past the princess, leaving her to rot in her jail cell
Scary image of a deformed toad appears:
Vinny: "Toad put 'cha tiddies away, Wudah ya doin'?!"
I can't wait for Wario to stand in front of everyone and say "actually I'm not bad at all"
Nice, more creepy mario hacks.
what's the youngest someone can watch a vinesauce stream and not ruin their life?
100
Dead.
someone in chat said they started watching since they were 7, and now they're "20 bro", so i can only imagine the inner machinations of his mind

@@shelby5809 I first started watching Vinesauce when I was 9 or 10 which is actually really weird to think about now.
"this has been a trend for the last five years or so" vinny, FNAF came out a decade ago. not to mention gameing creepy pastas (incuding sonic.exe the first ".exe" game) were all made from 2010-2014.
the platforming in that eyeless mario 64 game was painful to watch
2 years old vod
Man, that Iggy's castle game has a LOT of endings
Yeah holy shit it keeps getting updates with extra endings/routes.
I think that one might be the most extensive one Vinny's played content-wise barring *maybe* Coronation Day (vibes) or Alpha Sphere (complete visual/sprite rework).
i find it funny how these hacks always seem to have a lot of effort put into everything except the writing, like many of them have decent spritework, level design and music and then they go and have the corniest "horror" story you'll ever see
I was not expecting bowsers inside story toad town theme in the SMW sound font in a horror game
"sexual themes. what?" got a "what?!" out of me too ngl
I'm calling these Lucaslikes now
lucas mother 3
"uhh, my mario... can run on his blood"
45:26 i see Mario tried to defy the cycle :monkaS:
22:55 this made me have a fuckin fit
jesus christ
Dearest Melpert…
Jesus christ watching Vinny fail to beat the most basic mario puzzles or cry at a game because he can't take his eyes off chat for more than 3 seconds is so infuriating.
Vinny watched the Exorcist when he was 5?!
ok this explains a lot.
i did too, and i'm fine. see?
@@shelby5809 seen
Binyot up in here at the beginning misremembering Choo-Choo Charles so badly he places it on the same tier as shit like Sonic.exe and Garten of Banban and apparently forgets that he unironically enjoyed it
Dementia is a real issue as you get older :/
Happy 39th birthday, Vin.
And then hyper realistic Bowser jumped out of my screen and said "dear pesky plumbers" as Jack black
I genuinely like the use of the super Metroid music in that first one
It's a great way of immediately conveying how to defeat the boss to anyone who has played Super Metroid.
And then hyper realistic Mario jumped out of the screen and he started to clapped his cheeks.
Alpha Sphere game had Final Fantasy Legend 3 dungeon music in it. Neat.
So 8000 x 2 hours is 16,000 hours /24 = 666.67 days! Vinny is friends with the devil confirmed
i love these streams they’re so goofy lmao. i do appreciate the effort the devs put into the games though
also that forest level rom hack reminded me of another game vinny played a while back called coronation day i think? i’m not sure if they were made by the same person but with the weird dialogue and silent hill music it wouldn’t surprise me
Forest Level was actually made by the 'the/Coronation Day dev so that probably explains The Vibes.
