For the people who don't know, that Zelda rom hack was made by a well known brazilian youtuber known as MaxwelThuThu. He's known for archiving the brazilian dubs of tons of different episodes from old Nintendo cartoons (which are really rare). He's one heck of an awesome guy.
Giving Vinny the rewind feature is a guarantee that an easy jump will be brute forced 7 times instead of just being 10% more careful and making it on the second try.

I imagine you won't see this comment, but I'm the creator of "Mario's Strange Quest", and that ROM you played wasn't actually MSQ. It was a submission I made for a level design contest back in 2011. Yoshi Cavern is otherwise a special world level you're meant to access later in MSQ, which is why it may have seemed kind of hard for a world 1 level. Other than that, it was kind of neat seeing you play one of my levels, even though it was one from earlier in my ROM hacking days. I've improved a lot since then, to the point where I'd love to see you play the full version of "Mario & Yoshi's Strange Quests" once I finally get that finished.

Mega Mario World 2 Demo has the most insane storyline, and I genuinely love some of the lines in it. Mario wishing to be buried next to Bowser's Castle so that even in death, Mario can watch Bowser is seriously funny. And man, that was one seriously THICC Peach.

About Mega Mario 2, it might use downloaded assets, but whoever made it knows their way around a Mario World Hack. It uses tons of custom samples on the music, you don't import custom samples on babby's first romhack. Well IDK I haven't tried rom hacking in almost a decade.

I spent like 3 minutes trying to figure out why the music at 28:14 was so familiar and then it hit me - it's "Aliens, Say Your Prayers" from Duke Nukem 3D. Kinda wild how nice it sounds when properly rendered in the SMW soundfont. Probably a better fit for a Super Metroid hack though.

Well it was interesting to start out by going inside Yoshi lol. Poor Luigi falling into depression in the next game after Mario's death, who knew it makes you shrink too, it did feel weird seeing those Yoshi's being pulped by Luigi. Mario Goes To Brazil didn't disappoint, I was surprised at how good it was. Theach(Thicc Peach) was a thing of it's own and The Zeld game at the end was actually really cool. it really is, like i don't see anything to get up in arms over. i disagree with the assessment that it's probably a fetish as well, and more just an artist providing their own take on a character. this is such a common bodytype now, and seeing how the game was heavily inspired by smb1 rather than world, the sprite feels like the artist's interpretation of the nes peach sprite, who definitely was, while not to this extent, shorter and squatter than her modern counterpart. but, like, just having a non-sexually suggestive fat woman lead character doesn't really seem like the person is obsessed with larger women or intends this character design to be something meant to arouse themselves or fulfill some fetishistic desire. it's kinda sad that people are so used to fat characters (and fat people in media, to be fair) being a one-off punchline joke to be pointed at and mocked, anytime we see a cute fat character people think it's just fetish art.
You'd think a generation that has grown up with the internet would be more open or accepting of this and all other sort of things, but nope, it seems the more we're going forward, the more everyone get in a tizzy for the slightest thing and are enormous prudes. man i remember there being a _really high quality_ zelda themed smw romhack being developed (back in 2010 on smwcentral). whoever was making it put so much effort on essentially "mariofying" zelda (or "zeldafying" mario?). with a hearts health system, a functional sword, a nonlinear world to traverse through, items, and just overall very top-notch sprite redesigns. it's ashame that it's basically nowhere to be found cuz the dev just disappeared along with all their update posts :/

Well it was interesting to start out by going inside Yoshi lol. Poor Luigi falling into depression in the next game after Mario's death, who knew it makes you shrink too, it did feel weird seeing those Yoshi's being pulped by Luigi. Mario Goes To Brazil didn't disappoint, I was surprised at how good it was. Theach(Thicc Peach) was a thing of it's own and The Zeld game at the end was actually really cool. Thanks for sharing these Vin, I really enjoyed.

The fact that an inoffensively drawn fat peach gets this much "controversy" for lack of a better word is astonishing. it really is, like i don't see anything to get up in arms over. i disagree with the assessment that it's probably a fetish as well, and more just an artist providing their own take on a character. this is such a common bodytype now, and seeing how the game was heavily inspired by smb1 rather than world, the sprite feels like the artist's interpretation of the nes peach sprite, who definitely was, while not to this extent, shorter and squatter than her modern counterpart. but, like, just having a non-sexually suggestive fat woman lead character doesn't really seem like the person is obsessed with larger women or intends this character design to be something meant to arouse themselves or fulfill some fetishistic desire. it's kinda sad that people are so used to fat characters (and fat people in media, to be fair) being a one-off punchline joke to be pointed at and mocked, anytime we see a cute fat character people think it's just fetish art.
You'd think a generation that has grown up with the internet would be more open or accepting of this and all other sort of things, but nope, it seems the more we're going forward, the more everyone get in a tizzy for the slightest thing and are enormous prudes.
Y'all need to grow a backbone and be more open minded, smh.

man i remember there being a _really high quality_ zelda themed smw romhack being developed (back in 2010 on smwcentral). whoever was making it put so much effort on essentially "mariofying" zelda (or "zeldafying" mario?). with a hearts health system, a functional sword, a nonlinear world to traverse through, items, and just overall very top-notch sprite redesigns. it's ashame that it's basically nowhere to be found cuz the dev just disappeared along with all their update posts :/
