It does heal. My acl got torn back in October 2019 (I was 15 at the time) and also my mcl got grade 2 sprain. Went to rehab worked hard everyday to prepare for surgery and until my mcl healed. Then earthquake started hitting Puerto Rico, then covid and my operation got postponed. I continued to work hard, cuz there wasn't much to do other than playing warzone with ma boys. Got another MRI in June 2020 and everything was healed. I'm running a mile and my knees don't give out but my cardio does lmao I'm also leg pressing 420lbs without any pain, I still haven't started practicing judo because of covid but in August I believe that I'll start practicing so if I remember I'll give an update
I highly doubt you experienced a complete ACL tear (rupture) at the first place, it was probably partial one or sprain, hence why it may heal. Do you have MRI and proof at the beginning of your injury or you just assumed that it was "torn"?

Some believe that there was a small string attached and that's how it healed. My orthopedic Dr. Has had over 900 cases of acl tear and around 7-10 ocations the patient got healed without operation. The things we had in common was that we were young and athletes

I am also 1 year past my ACL injury and just discovered that it's a complete tear a few months ago, so got an appointment with my orthopedic to see if the surgery will be needed. Despite that I am able to train in the gym with all effort and the instability felt on my knee is only a tiny bit compared to what most guys feel after such severe injury (ACL rupture).

Due to the pandemic my surgery has been delayed until January 2021 and in the meantime I have been doing pre hab with a sports physio to strengthen my injured leg. I have regained all range of motion and can jump and land on my ACL deficient knee and also change direction while running. My physio now recommends a conservative management plan and advises that I may not need surgery as I may be what is called an ‘ACL coper’, meaning I can cope without one. If it goes well I can return to sports even without an ACL and not needing to wear a brace. Insane!
Lol , it can heal if you got time , patience and put in walking/running exercises . It'll heal so well you can sprint and run marathons. Im living proof
ACL can heal, its more likely with partial tears but it is possible. My friend tore his ACL in 2021 and had surgery in 2022, The surgeon opened him up and saw that the ACL was fully intact and not damaged.
@@fandefoot3511depends where they got surgery. In the UK, the nhs is too poor to do another mri to see if it’s healing, as most times it doesn’t, they won’t check

strange, I completely ruptured mine last june and delayed the surgery due to university exams. Had a second MRI in November and the ortho said it just looks like a partial tear and I no longer needed surgery. Fast forward to march this year and I had one final MRI and the ortho said it looks like a normal healthy ligament. Went back to playing football at the start of May and haven't had any issues so far. I guess everyone's case is highly individual, but my ortho says it does have the ability to heal depending on the person and where the tear is. Apparently, I was just very lucky.

How long did it take for it to fully heal? I had a partial tear this april but it hasnt fully healed. However i can still squat a ton of weight but im instable when i run. I just started doing rehab a month ago, any tips?
@@Big271ne I am using machines which target glutes at gym. I don't do exercises with body weight. I recomand do with light weight and 20 +reps for 1 set , do atleast 5 sets per machine. It will take from 3 to 6 months to get results if you do at least 3 days in a week legs. You can start slow running once you have stability. Is normal to hurt little bit at the beginning. And I problems close my leg. I could not touch the checks with the feet but I forced every day and I developed full range. You can use that think which slides on floor which is very good. You can pushit and pull back walking in reverse.

Been in brace for 1 month (immobilized)and now having rehab since 2 months. 28 June had 2nd MRI and my ACL looks straight agian, but is 30% grey color in MRI, when healthy ACL in near black in MRI. My doc says it looks good for the future. As I read about it, partial ACL is using cells in clot for healing and then, 3-12 month from tear, it will use collagen cells to become stronger. So you need strong muscles (especial hamstring) to support it and avoiding any problems like hyperextension and torsion injuries (no basketball for me at least for 12 months, but I think going with surgery would resulted the same, sooo). So, yes - some partial tears can be heal but it needs time. My rehabs say even up to 2 years.

I think some people's tendons in the knee are tighter or stronger than others and this is why some people may not need surgery. I was told I would be falling over a lot, not able to do sport, never happend.
Had a torn ligament . Saudi dr fixed it in 1 month cast. This was like in 2000. I think it was acl... because knee completely locked and Blood taken out.

There are no studies to support this claim. In fact, there are some studies indicating quite the opposite: acl can heal in some circumstances.

I too had an ACL injury that is improved significantly after a year, without surgery.
