Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Opening Scene (1080p HD)

- Okay, so I am now finally back with a new batch of clips from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, one of the most underrated superhero movies in my opinion. It is flawed, sure, but it is not a piece of garbage, and it had a lot of potential too. Which is why I want to share with all of you a few of the best moments from this film.
In this clip, the film's opening is shown, in which Martha and Thomas Wayne are murdered by a mugger in amazing and breathtaking slow-motion. In my own opinion, while the movie may not necessarily be as good as Batman Begins, this death scene most definitely surpasses the one in Batman Begins in many ways. The slow-motion allows the emotional impact of the scene to sink in to the audience, and also emphasize how much Bruce was affected, coupled with the amazing musical talents of Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL.
As always, this content does not belong to me in anyway and all copyright belongs to Warner Brothers and the respective owners and producers of this flawed but amazing movie.
the most beautiful intro of super heroes movies I ever seen
Go and watch the intros from the dark knight trilogy
@@soulslayergamer2318 what?! Hahaha.. I mean they are great movies... Hands down better than this one but... Their beginings are far from something you could call beautiful or artistical... This intro is one of the best parts of this film and it IS BEAUTIFUL, ARTISTIC and even SAD. Makes you totally feel why BATMAN is so traumatized by his mother's death... Which is an important part of the twist at the end... Twist which everyone with just two neurones critiziced and thought was forced or stupid... That people don't really know the true deepness of the character (BATMAN) They only know he's a cape vigilante like crusader who's supposed not to kill anyone or to have feelings... Which is not true.
Justice league intro be like: wait a minute
@@teatrodelmal only because it have music and so many slowmotion scenes don't make it better it's a copy from the dark trilogy
Watchmen is better. Much better!
Probably the best portrayal of the Death of the Waynes.
I beg to differ.
Then again...
I dont really give af if u beg to differ.
Me neither, to be honest.
What I love about each portrayal is that each is unique in its own way.
In every single Batman origin scene, the pearl necklace always breaks. This was the most unique way I've ever seen it..
Nolan's trilogy is is spectacularly good, but THIS scene is definitely better.
look up the dark knight returns and you will see how similar this is
Well Nolan was the producer of this movie🤷♂️
Even Christopher Nolan is proud of this opening scene
@@abhishekdhar1157 in where?
@@tico1275 but snyder did this scene
Ladies and germs, this right here is the very scene that inspired me to apply for a Media Film & TV Production college course. It's cliché but the moment I saw this I knew it was what I want to do with my life, hopefully I can meet Snyder some day and thank him if it all works out for me.
YEAh,, i developed interest in Film making after watching this scene. But i was in second year of architecture already.. but I learned alot about film making despite of that.. And probably is gonna do some film making before starting to practice architecture
same thing for me after watching BVS it really inspired me into pursuing a career as a director
Hope it works out!
@@Kta8548i OMG same I always wanted to become a director heck even an actor after watching this scene. It was so beautiful imo.
Good luck
How VERY interesting that Lauren Cohen and Jeffrey Dean Morgan be cast as Martha and Thomas Wayne...
Just completing the trio of both being in Supernatural, The Walking Dead and BvS :D
Negan & Maggie 🤣
@@rajsingh_king They hate each other😂
Its was all planned dude according to snyder's original plan we were going to a flashpoint movie which would've rebooted dceu and Jeffrey morgan was set to play thomas wayne batman and lauren cohen would've played joker in flashpoint timeline but thanks to WB we will not get that movie
Still tryna find out where's Lucille XD
Regardless of what you thought of the movie, you have to admit it had a lot of style.
This movies as a whole is amazing
That’s Zach Snyder for you
And that’s the problem…Zack Snyder has always been about style over substance. Prioritize making shots look cool over making sense…even if it hurts the story
@@kolbytriplett4644 here here . Just look at the borefest that was his justice league

Am I the only one who thinks this scene is Perfect. Like from the acting, to storytelling to cinematography to music , it's Perfect
It's perfect, even the casting of Wayne parents was perfect. Make The Walking Dead jokes whatever you want but damn Jeffery Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan are probably the best casting for Thomas and Martha
Straight from the tdkr comic
Diamond absolutes!
The whole movie is perfect

I was like WHAT THE FUCK when this theme played in WW84
İt is better in this scene I think

I have been avoiding WW84 and pretending it never happened, learning that they used this theme has made me want to form a black hole in the part of my brain that's aware of it's existence. I'm disappointed.
I absolutely loved Joker but i still prefer this version of the Waynes murder.
If the best version, for me
Well just iammagine the guy that shot him had a joker mask on and it flows very well
The movie will be appreciated more and more, wait and see.
It already began
it's happening to a lot of movies, including man of steel.
i love BvS. it’s a masterpiece. ( the ultimate edition )
One day the movie will get the praise it deserves
Im glad I saw through my marvel shill lens when I watched this, and defended it accordingly at the time
Cannot believe they cast Negan and Maggie as Thomas/Martha Wayne... Unbelievable!
That’s what I’m sayin
Lmao came here for that
It was definitely so that they could set him up as flashpoint Batman and Maggie as flashpoint joker. They would’ve killed those roles.
WOW you have great eyes, i saw Negan but didnt take note of Maggie, would never know known lol, thanks man, makes it even more great........

After watching Snyders Cut JL, you realise how important this movie was. I don’t know care what people say, this was an amazing movie. It all makes sense, WB should have backed Snyders vision and they would have made billions. They were too busy looking over at Marvel and not building their own legacy.
@Lightspeed Yagami I’m hoping WB see sense back the snyderverse
I don’t think this movie was quite amazing but I do agree it was good and with a few changes it good be a masterpiece

@@zahidsadeeq489 I’ve seen it man it does make it better this film is ambitious but fails in a few areas imo
Hands down this was the most impactful death scenes of Waynes and this actually summarizes the pain and the burden Bruce been carrying around. The first time I saw it, I cried. Two perfect things Zack's vision and Beautiful Lie by Han Jimmer.
Love that this is basically the theme of the whole DCU now after WW84
Well both films have the same composer

I wish Zack Snyder would make a movie on how Batman was brought up. It would be so dark and beautiful and terrifying.

Probs would have worked better
@@williamgelhaus6308 nope
I'll never forget seeing this in IMAX. The POV shot of Martha Wayne looking at the gun and pearls and the next one of the gun firing and shattering the necklace..man oh man. The best interpretation of the Waynes' death hands down.
Hans Zimmer & Junkie XL soundtrack killed the waynes
This is my favorite live action version of the Wayne killing, not only does the music and slow motion add so much depth to this scene. But also unlike the others this Thomas wasn't a coward, he actually tried to protect his family, even Martha tried to protect Bruce, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the perfect actor to play a protective, tough guy, willing to defend type father. And how Bruce is running in fear, and then falls and gets carried up by the bats to the light, the symbolism is just amazing, even dying Thomas saying Martha, and the pearls breaking and falling is just beautifully coronated, and the way this scene transitions back and forth from their death, to what's happening after their death, it literally feels like I'm reading a comic book.
And then people say Zack Snyder doesn't understand comics or these characters... smh
@@nikhiljoseph3672 meanwhile 300 and watch man : hold my beer 🍻🍻🍺
Fun fact: Jeff Dean Morgan played the comedian in Watchmen.
The opening scene was a masterpiece on it's own
Torn straight out of a comic book. I dont remember sitting in theaters and watching any singular movie more than I do this one. This intro is a big part of why, its so engaging and hooks the viewer in perfectly.
The most iconic beginning of all supethero movies by far!!! The Music also is pure greatness!!!

It’s a lil different than BvS.. BvS is way better
The most tragic death in comic book history
Yes...agree...but I would also have to say Glenn Rhees death was also the most tragic death in comic book history...from The Walking Dead comics...hence Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Negan in the tv show TWD and the one killing Glenn in a very gruesome way.
Nah Ultimate Spidermans Death was the most tragic

So Maggie and Neagan survived the apocalypse, changed their names to Wayne and had a kid named Bruce.
So negan killed glenn and took his wife 👌🏼
and they are happy about it
No wonder he’s called BATman................. #ripglenn
Fuck off.
A new love story ,the true Plan From Negan and Maggie 🤭😂
Yeah
best portrayal entirely
Damn... Negan and Maggie have seen better days
Thomas Wayne in this version was a goddamn hero. He acted, instinctively, all he knew was that his family was in danger and so he decided he'd make a stand. He died but became all the more heroic for it.
He's Negan
A real father will do anything in his power to protect his wife and kids and a real man will not be afraid to die the only thing that will matter is that he saved his kids
I assure you, this movie is going to become a cult classic. We will have our vindication, as the Prequel fans are.
I mean I already thought from beginning the movie was good aside from the end part with the whole "WHY DIDYOUSAYTHATNAME!!!!" and the prologned fight with Doomsday, even if that fight wasnt as quite as overblown as that at the end of Man of Steel. Still not nearly as bad movie as some say it is and I actually wish Justice League continued to be as dark as this, instead of what we got
@@Balnazzardi I definitely wish that "Justice League" had stayed consistent with this. Hopefully the Snyder cut that's coming out next year will.
The "Martha" scene is actually pretty well thought-out; the only problem is Henry Cavill's delivery of it-why would he consciously say "Martha" to Batman instead of "my mother"? If Superman had been clearly concussed and were shouting "Martha" unconsciously, it'd be more believable. Aside from that, it's quite a beautiful moment. One layer is that it humanizes Superman for Batman, who'd spent the whole movie viewing Superman as an inhuman alien. It makes him realize that Superman shares many of the same feelings and values as humans. Another layer is that it reminds Batman of his own humanity in juxtaposition to his current state. It reminds him of his father's whispering his mother's name at the moment of their deaths, and the evil and cruelty of that incident, and Batman's original motivation for fighting crime. Another layer is that it's the first time in DC history that Batman's and Superman's mothers' shared name is used as a plot point, and Snyder did a decent job writing it.
What do you dislike about the Doomsday fight?
@@georgeofhamilton well I can agree with most of that, I just wish that particular Martha scene had been executed better like Batman understanding better way that, hey this "alien" had real parents just here on Earth like he had and in that sense he was everybit of human like everyone else and that he was about to kill someone's adopted son...that it would not have bee only about the name "Martha" that was the trigger that made him reconsider what he was doing, cause it felt all bit too artificial for me
Anyhow as for Doomsday, I always have probel with fight scenes that just last bit too long. With Snyder's movies there just hasnt been that good balance between fight scenes and the rest so although Doomsday fight didnt feel like it was dragging on quite as badly as the fight at end of Man of Steel with Zod, to me sometimes less is more, otherwise at some point I start to feel "this is bit too much"
@@Balnazzardi I suppose that's fair. I don't get the same feelings as you do, but I understand you.
Tbh, as much as I don't like the DCEU, you are probably right with the prequal analogy
Who else is here because they saw how the Joker movie ended?
1:58 flashpoint Thomas makes it
I wasn't expecting that to happen in the movie. It caught me off guard
Regardless of however the movie was, the opening as a true masterpiece
I cannot believe I only just notice that Bruce's parents are Negan and Maggie.

I'm glad they didn't make this moment an actual scene in the movie, it was cool how they did it as the opening credits, cuz everyone knows the story. Would've liked it if Lauren Cohen hadn't been Martha though because now she can't be someone else in the universe lol. Overall this in my opinion is the best rendition of their death, just wished it was used in Affleck's solo batman movie, and I wish that that movie had come out before BVS, instead of DC rushing in an attempt to catch up with Marvel.
I think they used Lauren Cohen as Martha in preparation of a potential Flashpoint Paradox movie, in which case she becomes The Joker, and her husband, Thomas, becomes Batman and Bruce dies.
And we'll might see her again in flashbacks, nightmares and hallucinations for Bruce Wayne.

I love how Thomas Wayne has his arms around his treasure:
When the gun is pulled on them, he releases his hold and puts himself forward in face of the threat like any loving Husband or Father would do.
I love this scene!
To where Martha stares frightened down the barrel of the gun to Martha's final breath and the changing of her eyes.
So heartbreakingly beautiful, and the music really sells it!
Though to be honest, when I listen to this music, All I can picture in my head is The Fall of Anakin Skywalker and the Rise of Darth Vader.
I loved your comment.
Maybe someone should do a video of Anakin slaying Jedi to this music
*Renounce your wish! *
Why would I!? When its finally my turn!!!
*I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to everyone else. Because you’re not the only one who wishes things could be different*
WTF? Maggie and Negan 😂😂
Zack Snyder: I'm zack snyder and I can do whatever the fuck I want😈
for some reason, I find it more effective how in the original version of this scene, we don't get to see Martha's pleading face right before she is shot. I don't know why... but I find it more impactful to only see when the gun gets stuck in the string of pearls, her shocked face as she realizes it is now pointing right at her face, and then the close-up to the gun as it fires and we IMAGINE it must've shot her in the head. It just makes me feel it more viscerally, to imagine it as almost a spur of the moment thing, instead of a timed thing in which Martha had time to pleadingly stare into the thief's eyes and for him to actively make the decision to shoot her regardless. Just my humble opinion. Still the best portrayal of the Waynes murder in my book.
Bruces parents are Maggie and Negan? kinda ironic
The super close up of Martha’s pupil enlarging is so haunting with the sound of her last gasps. Well done opening.
