- Here is a very special video presentation honoring the Sacrifice made by so many so that we can live in The LAND of FREE. This song written by Joe Bonsall is available on The OAK RIDGE BOYS "It's Only Natural" Album on iTunes, amazon and Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores... God Bless America...
My father fought in Vietnam. We lost him 28 years ago but he remains my hero to this day. I will never take our freedom for granted. God Bless all that have fallen
Our Heavenly Father, I pray your children open their hearts, loose their selfishness, self-centered ways and reflected on our nations history. This video is one of a few that needs to be in our schools and church services. Thank you for your loving, Christian ways you are examples of His honor. May God Bless the United States of America. Pray for our new President Elect Trump and his team to heal from all the adversity and to be honest, shame, they are challenged by daily. A hope for our status of that honor is close at hand - One Nation Under God.
The price of liberty is very high, but worth it. I am a U.S.Army Vet, my Uncles both served in 'Nam, my Grandfather and his brothers served in WWII and Korea.
Thank you for your service. My cousin is currently serving in the Navy
Thanks for all you and your family have sacrificed and Services for Freedom. Thanks Psalm 139&34 May God bless you all. Prayerfully MsBear
God bless our troops and thank you
For your service and God bless you and your family.
I've loved you since I was a little girl. Thank you for what you do.
I just saw this moving music video. I've been a huge fan of The Oakridge Boys since 1979. As a Navy and Vietnam Veteran, the ORB have given me a new reason to respect and admire them with all my heart. God Bless You Boys.
Also, just introduced to your song G.I. Joe & Lillie. That so reminded me of my folks story. WW-II whirl wind romance. They knew each other 3 days when they got married. He was in the Navy and she was a Rosie the Riveter (worked as a riveter on aircraft and a welder on ships). He spent his last few months in the Navy in the Brig because he went AWOL to be with his new bride. They were married 61 years when my Dad passed in 2006. Thanks for both songs.....
Love this...made cry...so many gave all for our freedom. Beautiful son with so much meaning. Thank you, Joe and all the Oak Ridge Boys (my all-time favorite group). God bless you all...and God bless our troops.
Thank you for getting the message out for those of us who want to, but just don't have the audience that YOU have!
Thanks to all four of you, who are an honor to God, to us, and our country!
And thank you also for the priviledge of adding your video's to my website...
You're ALL awesome!
Many Blessings!
mssiggie
God bless you ORB. I’ll see you again in August 2022 at the KY ST FAIR. Yours is the only concert the crowd hates to leave. The heart you put in your songs is the reason.
My Daddy told me when we were singing that the best singers sing from their hearts, ya can hear the tears in JB voice, it makes the song so much better.
Fantastic song! Freedom is never free, and we must never forget those who paid the price for us. G-d bless them, every one!
G-d is not how you spell GOD!! God bless is written this way.
Thanks guys. Joe that song means a lot to me. I am prior service and a career firefighter. This song touches me every single time. So many have given so much!
Thank you Joe for writing this song. Thank you Oak Ridge Bots for singing your song and taking time to pay tribute to those who gave all and for those who gave some. Thank you for recognizing the military during your concerts and shows. May GOD continue to bless you 4 guys for many years to come.
As a retired US Coast Guardsman, why is it so HARD for anyone to remember the 5th armed service of this beloved nation.

Memorial Day 2015... Honor THE FALLEN
In 2021 It seems that many have forgotten. I have not.. God bless heroes and families of fallen heroes!
Great job with the song Joe, now we need it to be a reality for ALL of us!!! Our brave men and women don't sacrifice their lives for Only the white, rich, men & the str8..
I was working the midnight shift on cardiac care when I was notified that a soldier returning to Iraq had become unresponsive on the plane. The flight landed on the nearest strip and the young man came to me. He was accompanied by his sergeant. The sergeant was only 19 and headed back for his second tour. I mentioned that my nephew had just returned. He said, in such a serious voice, "I am grateful he made it back." I was stunned at the calm acceptance of what he was going back to face. I hope he also made it back.
The price is heavy, some don't make it home some do, some with injuries that they don't share, we try to look normal, but sometimes we are alone with our thoughts and we look up and see the smile on our saviors face, as He says so ever kindly," well done my faithful servant"
ORBs - thank you for posting this on Memorial Day weekend. It is a wonderful tribute to those who gave all. Well done Boys - God Bless America!
Thank you ORB. Great video. This old Vietnam Veteran sure appreciates the feeling and meaning in Sacrifice For Me. I survived but many did not. GOD Bless You for your respect shown to Veterans and First Responders.
So beautiful and so awesome
What a fantastic song, we should be very proud of the families who gave all , god bless them
Memorial Day 2014 ... A Price has been paid... HONOR THEM and REMEMBER...
I love this and thank you for reminding us freedom is not free!
God bless you Joe, as well as Duane, Richard, William Lee, the band, and those you pay tribute to with this song. We appreciate all of you more than you could ever hope for or even imagine. The troops (past and present) and public emergency servants inspire you to bring us songs that inspire those of us who actually listen to their words. Some of us don't have the physical, mental, or emotional makeup to be servants of that type. But speaking for myself who happens to be one of the weaker ones, I admire you and those who pay tribute to you. Count me among the latter.
Thank you, Joe Bonsall and ORB. You have no idea how much this song means to this old Army Nurse. There IS a price that is paid; I've seen it up close and personal. And you're right, it is personal. Blessings!
Thank you to all that sacrifice their lives and the ones that are still here I think you too for you have a battle with them I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and that's not even enough thank you to the Oakridge boys for the song so so so graciously if it isn't a word thank you and God bless to all of you
Very beautiful and moving. How can we ever forget such a sacrifice?
My husband went to Vietnam, now he's reaping the horrors of Agent Orange from being under it when it settled out of the sky.
Excellent song, thanks guys.....
This is beautiful! Great job, Joe.
coastiedoc617, I am a retired Army First Sergeant and I have been guilty myself of forgetting your service in conversations. You have a valid point and the Coast Guard should be more readily recognized by everyone. Please accept my humble apologies from one old dog who should have known better.
Great song and tribute Joe.
Thank you Joe. A very awesome song.
Thank you to all who appreciate those of us who have and continue to serve.
Wish they'd included my uncle who died on the Arizona at pearl harbor. Navy gets forgotten these days.
Beautiful!! Thank you for this song!!
Ban-Joey.... You're getting better & better on that thing (the banjo).... Keep it up!
Joe, seen you guys this past monday in monroe mi. sorry it was so damn cold, but thanks for putting on a great show, i will not hesitate to travel to see you all again.

I love this brings tears my own dad was in wwll
Awesome!
Thanks Ephesians 1
I ask each and everyone of you that as you get ready for Memorial Day on Monday that you not forget that this isn't a three day holiday weekend but rather a somber time to take time out to Remember, Honor and Pay Tribute and Respect to those that have served, sacrificed and unselfishly gave their all for us and our Country. From all wars past and present. At 3PM Mon The National Moment of Remembrance takes place. Wherever you may be at 3 PM please observe a moment of silence in honor of our Heroes. If driving, you are asked to turn your headlights on. It's the least we can do for those that have chosen to give their all so that we may continue to live in freedom. And by all means if you know of any Gold Star Families.. Please thank them for their sacrifices as well. Please feel free to share this with your friends... Thanks~ Frances
Freedom is not free
Many have sacrificed
for all the freedoms
that we enjoy.
Let us never throw them away
like so much trash.
Let us fight for all
the freedoms that we enjoy
at the expense;
at the sacrifice
of so many others.
Sir, I am sure it is of little consolation to you, but the version of this video that The Oak Ridge Boys use in their stage show does indeed include the US Coast Guard logo, equally and right along side the other 4 branches. It was an unfortunate circumstance that allowed this version to be posted without and unfortunately UA-cam policy would not allow a simple switch of the video. Many links had been distributed, so it became impossible to simply remove it and start over. That is the reason.
Great song, never enough recognition can be given to our military, police & firemen. Thanks
just one issue with video is the using of the Soviet Union eternal flame, when honoring the
US military. The USSR contributed to the lost of many US personnel.
To me this song is for my big brother
Joe, in the video about G.I. Joe and Lillie, you mentioned that the wounds came back to haunt Joe in '65 and this song seems to me to be about someone close to you. Is it your son and Joe's grandson? If so, my heart goes out to you.
Thank you guys. This means alot.
Thanks.
2020...
Take it easy coastiedoc....I didn't see any women either. No harm was meant. If you read his book GI Joe you will know. His mother was in the service also.
