Way to go Jeremy! Man oh man that mud had to be disheartening. All those changes of socks had to really eat into your time. it always seems to be something you can't really train for that trips you up. But you got in the race and really gave it a go. Did those two brothers finish? Tough love is really tough for a pacer...your heart is going out to the runner but yet you gotta kick it in gear to get them to the finish.I heard once about a wise man who was attempting an epic event. He was asked at the finish whether it was the journey or the finish that was most rewarding. he said neither the journey or the finish was important...but the company. I know you met some great folks along the way and you will cherish those memories made. You're gonna make it next year for sure. I'm so proud of you buddy.
Thanks Jay. The mud and water was a big factor for sure but I did make a few other mistakes that cost me like all the sock changes which were likely you said very timely. I'll do a video about that later. RR2025 I'm coming back with a vengeance
very inspiring! I enjoy following your journey. I would've tapped out in the first few miles when that mud was swimming around - you are really an amazing athlete
I'd like to think I'd be able to finish in regular conditions but who knows... I'll be back and hopefully it isnt the same condtiions but if it is I'll slosh through it to get my buckle
Longest Tough Mudder I've ever attempted. 😅😅.. conditions were brutal. You should be proud of yourself for lining up and making it that far. Thanks for sharing your experience. I will watch this video many times to remind me of that day. 💪🏼🖤💯
I was volunteering out there both weekends and it was absolutely bonkers. Anyone who did more than half a mile is a legit beast. Maybe not smart, but a beast 😄😉
Man, I was joking with my runner about what if he forgot his chip, my heart sank when I got to that point in the video. Absolutely brutal way to go dude. Huge props for keeping it up after that.
Those lows in ultras do make it so hard to think straight...decision making becomes very hard. Great job under very tough moving conditions...I have done 50ks and 8 hour races in complete slop and it is very hard on the body. Never fail, only learn. Get it next time!
Dude I can’t tell you how proud of you I am. That was a beautiful and emotional video. I’ve been following in your footsteps being a step behind race wise . Mission Tejas 50k brazos 50 miler then I did rocky raccoon 100k at this race. It was such a hard day, I struggled all day long, u did amazing. If it makes u feel better u were going faster than I was. I wouldn’t have made the cutoff even close if I was doing the 100 miler. I can’t wait to see u start training for your redemption. This video made me tear up. No doubt u have 100 miles in you, so 2025 better look out, cause goku is coming with a vengeance
Awesome video man and congrats on testing your limits! I did my first 50k ever at RR50 the week after this one and it was TOUGH! I watched your videos leading up to my race so big thanks on your tips.
Great filming, Jeremy. What epic race conditions. You really did great, my friend. I’m proud of your effort. Conditions like that really make you feel alive, huh? That 100 mile buckle will come soon enough. 💪
Absolutely brutal conditions! I think forgetting the chip is where it all fell apart. No doubt when you do this again, you’ll make it- it can’t be any tougher than this! So happy that you made it as far as you did. That’s an amazing accomplishment!! 🤓
Jeremy, great race recap and so proud of you and grateful for you letting Marina and I share your shelter. It was a crazy day and crazy night. I was fresh off a DNF. You are going to come back here and crush it next time!
Great recap dude! After this race, I’ve switched to bungee type laces. “Xpand Round Lacing” it eliminated the pain of getting shoes on & off wet, muddy & hands cold! Keep pushin‼️👍🏾 Oh, Grasslands 100 miler in March! LETS GO‼️‼️
great honesty and insight, its never a fail just the next step towards success. i completed my first half marathon trail event days ago, crippled with strains cramps and blister. walked over the line body broken mind strong.
I can feel the pain m8. I have seen many fail with so little. Last long race I did i had several friends that missed one gate with less than 5 minutes. That sucks after x hours out. But you did great. What you did is the hardest. Being out that long time is alot tougher than the ones winning a race :) think about that.
You will always be inspiring to me. You have succeeded in distances that I only wish I could try. Your drive to try a distance that you weren’t confident that you could finish was amazing. I tend to let my perfection prevent me from even attempting some goals that are challenging. Keep up the relentless forward progress. I am sure that every attempt will bring you closer to achieving your goals and dreams.
At 16 Mins/17:21 that crossing on the right side there was 3 logs that you could cross instead of going into that deep spot, IT WAS HUGE for me! That let me continue with the waterproof socks strategy that definitely helped me in the end. Couldn't use them until around Mile 30-40 once it drained.
Nicely put together with voiceover and talking segment. I liked the ongoing mile / pace / pace to finish text also. Amazing effort also, that’s 100 miles worth of work and fitness for sure.
Dude, you are an inspiration! You should be proud of yourself; this is always a race against ourselves. I'll be doing the 50K next year, I hope it doesn't rain and I can make a cameo in your video 😉
For a trail that typically has no stream crossings, this one had millions of them! I would have taken 1 look at the course conditions & gone back home! Perhaps sign up for an alternate100 miler. So proud of you for persevering! You really did a fabulous job! Congratulations & here's to success in 2025!
Great job just pushing through the miles you did in those conditions. No need in risking an injury just for the miles. The final push was pretty exciting. Can't wait to see get back those 20 miles.
That looked like an anxiety-filled start to a race. That was cool seeing one of your viewers That mud and water! Are there alegators where yiou were running? I want one of those tacos. I like your running team you adopted. Hey, there's Anna. Was that Tony helping you with your shoes at mile 50? Your brother was a good pacer. Sorry I didn't see your call for videos but I was thinking of you. bumber on forgetting your chip but lucky for you the mats weren't working. I'm glad you kept moving forward. You did an amazing job and you're such an inspriation for me and others. Keep your head up and keep trying.
Awesome story Goku, 100 miles never is easy.. but you got what's needed to finish. Set your race plan with all the learning and you'll crush that finish line.. It's going to be EPIC!! 2025 🎉
I'm so glad I was only pacing the last 20mi. By the time my runner needed me I never had to deal with anything worse than ankle deep mud. Still ruined a pair of shoes though!
Just remember you did not quit and even quitting I’ve done it it happens. We’re having a bad day and it happens but you didn’t quit you fought to the end just because of the conditions you ran out of time and I think you can be really proud of yourself that really tough day. BRO Just hit 36 mins, I also left my chip at exactly the same point of the race but luckily my crew noticed on the first 2 or so miles, and my pacer / employee SPRINTED back to camp and then SPRINTED back to catch me before I arrived to the first aid station, I was so concerned! I know exactly in your mind what was going in your head at that moment you found out you had no chip.
Yeah. My crew decided against calling me to let me know and decided to just walk to nature with it. I called tried to get them to come to where I was but walking with it to me would just be useless and they said it wasn't getting data but then we saw some runners after waiting so long and the thing was beeping. That really messed with my head.
@@GokuRunner yep exactly bc at that point you really need to mitigate those lows especially being tight on time. I felt my soul leave my body when they called because its my 2nd event ever, and never used timing chips so I had no clue what would come of the error so it had me incredibly nervous.

The 2 brothers did not finish
very inspiring! I enjoy following your journey. I would've tapped out in the first few miles when that mud was swimming around - you are really an amazing athlete
Appreciate it. Just a normal guy trying to do crazy things
I believe your run at River Raccoon 2024 was tougher than a full 100 at a normal RR100. Respect.
I'd like to think I'd be able to finish in regular conditions but who knows... I'll be back and hopefully it isnt the same condtiions but if it is I'll slosh through it to get my buckle

Yup it was pretty devastating to forget my chip and realizing it at the turn around point
Those conditions were the worst I've ever experienced. My feet are still not back to normal.
I'll be there to pace you next year if you need me.
Definitely far from ideal conditions. Props to you for getting that buckle!
Great video.
I loved making a cameo!!
I appreciate you! I've been looking at your race! lol

Great effort especially considering the conditions. A year wiser, better prepared and you will get the 100 next year.
Fantastic documentation on this event. That clay as a big boy, haha I just kept slipping down on that 1 major hill hahaha it was so frustrating.
Thanks. The clay and big boy Weight don't play nice
