You come across as a pretty responsible dude, and it seemed pretty obvious that is was just a joke! Besides, I'm sure it would take a lot more than a single railway spike to derail a massive freight train!
As other people commented Yes It's illegal to walk along tracks but we usually leave people be if there walking along our tracks not causing trouble. Just tell them to be careful. We sometimes check in on people to make sure they aren't stealing or putting stuff on the tracks. No trespassing signs are mostly there to cover the train companies ass if someone gets hurt. Look up the Kinzua Bridge in Pennsylvania. Was at the time 301 feet high and a half mile long. But in 2003 an F1 tornado knocked down 11 of the 20 towers. Really was a very interesting bridge. I took a steam train across it in 1994.
When you visit the Othello tunnels near Hope, B.C., I recommend visiting the abandoned Ladner Creek bridge/ tunnel, once part of the old Kettle Valley railroad. It would probably be more than a day trip though ...
I realize it’s been addressed as a joke but that spike can and will derail a train. Also, the rolling rock was not a joke and it hit with enough energy to make the whole structure ring. That probably caused damage to the concrete. Have fun but be a little responsible please.
Perhapps tallest active... the Vance Creek Trestle and High Steel Bridge near Shelton, WA are both over 350'. Vance creek is completely abandoned and dangerous to walk on with no side rails and many burnt out sections. High Steel Bridge is now a logging road which you can drive over in a car.
The tallest railroad bridge in North America is the Metlac bridge in central Mexico which is 410 ft. tall and carries a double track mainline across it
Cool adventure! Used to live up in the interior have been to several of the places you’ve gone but years before. There are some native american pithouses that are very cool and quite an adventure to get to. If you need more info I could probably recall if you have interest but you seem like a resourceful guy who could likely find out on his own. Cheers!
The best part about this joke is that train wheels DO have tires, it's the outer ring of harder steel which is friction fit onto the softer iron inner wheel (and it's a pretty cool process how they do it). AND, it IS possible (heck even common) for tires to get a flat spot, usually from being dragged with a stuck brake. But an iron spike could easily do it too... Mr. buzzkill here to ruin your joke by explaining that it's totally accurate and possible!
I was wondering what that bump was on the last train I took over the bridge!! but seriously you can feel the old girl sway pretty good when we go over it.
I love this comment. Too many people were worked up over that joke. Clearly I didn't leave the spike there. Sure would love to be on that train going over the bridge tho. Im happy you could see past my joke.
Dude your not allowed to take railroad spike unless you talked to the people that build it and those spike are worth lots of money and you just waste a bit of money throwing that spike of the bridge
Awesome! mate.Great drone shots/camera work as usual. Keep having fun dude!........WTF!! is wrong with 'some' people = WAY SERIOUS! Re- Title the vid as ' DUSTIN DERAILS TRAIN, off tallest bridge in north america'...... LOL!!! :)

Quite dishonest to say "Tallest train trestle" when it clearly is NOT. I doubt the 312ft height claimed. It could be 100 ft but not much more than that. Claiming the 1200ft length as the height is pathetic. Next time lie better than that.
The video was good up to the point you made joke about derailing train by putting spike on track.. That would be like getting on a plane and yelling 'BOMB" while at 10,000 feet in the air. That seem like a good joke ? Just poor taste !
People, the railroad spike was supposed to be a joke. I thought it went without saying that I didn't leave it there but I DIDNT LEAVE IT THERE.
You come across as a pretty responsible dude, and it seemed pretty obvious that is was just a joke! Besides, I'm sure it would take a lot more than a single railway spike to derail a massive freight train!
I really am inspired by your exploration videos, I may start exploring abandoned places all over BC.
Right on man. Tons of cool stuff all over BC to see
Destination Adventure I didn't believe you would leave it there. This was an awesome video. Love going on these adventures, keep up the good work.

I remember driving through the town of Kinzua to my Grandfather's hunting camp and driving past workers building the beginning of the Kinzua Dam
been there, done that.
Pretty constructive! A pristine nail on the track thrown into the river!
Lethbridge longest and tallest I believe. Walked across it 20 times.
Spokane, WA trestle?
Bridge looks pretty active still.
the bridge in lethnridge Alberta is 314 feet high5327 feet long. so only 2 feet higher but much longer and still active
she's a keeper, got balls
so cool Dustin, this was my great grandfather's bridge.. I will share it with my family..
The longest in the U.S. is the Tulip Trestle in southern Indiana which is 2300 feet long.

The Lethbridge railway bridge is 314' high and a lot longer than this bridge. 1.6 km.
You're making my knees hurt because, I'm afraid of heights.
Love the adventures, love the music, and absolutely love that old Chevy. She looks to be in great shape too. New subscriber here, man 🤝

The train is going to get a flat tire, and it will be your fault.
soooo... this comment is fantastic.

Very nice video!!!
Reminds me of the bridge scene in the movie Stand By Me.
TRRAAAAAAAAAIIINNN
🏃🏃🏃🏃 🚂
Kevin Richards man, I love that movie and I even tried putting my ear to the track.
@@Destination_Adventure lol
@@Destination_Adventure what's even more scary than walking across that railroad bridge is a train coming when walking across it.
@@Destination_Adventure The Stand By Me bridge crosses Lake Britton on the now inactive McCloud River Railroad in northern California
Is it an active line? The rails are shiny and it looks well maintained...
Yes it is. I believe CN runs one freight train northbound and one southbound daily.
Whose getting dizzy and lightheaded when you look down.
When having trains running on you always practice safe CSX! 🚂 😎
Great to see you back just love your videos 😊 love that view 💕👍👍👍👍
Thank you thank you

I would be terrified if I was on that bridge
Awe :( I thought your friend was your huckleberry ☺
Love this, applause, y'all.
Rails are shiny? Must be rail traffic?
Hey nice video, I love watching these kind of videos. Can you please tell me the name of the song at 2:30 ? Thanks.
Thanks Vanessa, Im happy you enjoy the video. That song is Glory by Dermot Kennedy. He has a fair bit of good music.
I'd be scared to hell to go across that in a train!

Is this railroad bridge still in use today ?
To quote another commenter, "Yes it is. I believe CN runs one freight train northbound and one southbound daily."
Cowboy boots while hiking ??? You’ve had a few ladies in these vids I’ve noticed..... are they all your exes ?? Lol
Ditch the bad music.
Great video, loved the drone footage! I just found your channel and subscribed, very cool stuff! Do you have a FB? Couldn't find one.
Hey Rob, welcome to the channel. I do not have a destination adventure Facebook page but I really should. Give people a platform to connect.
And with all the comments... I hope you know your trespassing. The man gonna come and take you away.
Have you ever checked out the Othello tunnels?
I have not but I might have to soon. Could make a day trip out of that one.
l enjoy your videos.and the drone shots. however l thought that was a dumb thing to even suggest leaving a spike on the track
barb, that old rusted spike would have done absolutely nothing to a train, a train would completely destroy it
Where in BC is this near?
Did you leave that spike on the rail? WTF?
of course I didn't leave it there.
where is this exactly?
I was wondering what happened when you uploaded this earlier and I clicked on the notification and It said removed.
Ya sometimes UA-cam doesn't like my choice in music so they make me re edit and re upload with new songs lol. Jerks
Nice video, hate the music
Why do all these youtube videos have this weird music? Does anyone actually listen to it?
Crap music
cause the “normal” music is usually copyrighted and using it causes issues for Utubers.
Sorry but i don't think that's the tallest one in North America!
Wooo 80th like!
