Thank you! I think I might incorporate some more of them, it is fun to do something a little different. I know that it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but that is ok! I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄 ❤️
Handmade is my favorite thing to get and give. I identify as a crafty maker. 😉 I sew, crochet, paint and know my way around a glue gun. Upcycling is one of my favorite things. So, I totally enjoyed this video. I immediately started looking for buttons. Nothing better than a good reason to buy buttons!
Giving a handmade gift is like giving a piece of you! While designer is not my thing, I absolutely love the ones that look like a snowflake! Every year I make a Christmas ornament for my family and friends. I have done all different types…crochet, felt, one year I painted on ornaments. This year I crocheted little hats. Some are just stripes…super cute, but some I put the word FEARLESS on. That was the word on all the shirts and sweatshirts we had for our Allie. From Joshua 1:9 ❤. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas! ❤❤
Oh, how special- those fearless hats will always be a reminder of Allie. What a loving Christmas gift. I love putting my tree up every year and thinking about those special ornaments, sometimes they are from trips, or made by my daughter, etc. I can only imagine what that is like for your family, they probably have quite the collection! Merry Christmas, Vicki- sending you love this week. ❤️
Excellent idea. I am a crafty person, and you did a really good job. You also explained what you were doing well and the close ups helped too. Hope your sister in laws like them. Happy Holidays.
I loved this video!! I love to craft from knitting, crocheting, and sewing to watercolour painting❣️❣️ I was a baker and cook by trade so I’m definitely a maker…😂
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I love hand made gifts. This year I made pincushions and cloth bins but one year I made birds out of chicken wire. They were my most successful and I still have the ones I did for us in the garden
What a fun Christmas video, Meredith! I enjoyed the change of pace and appreciate a really well done DIY or craft - and I'm picky! 😄 These button earrings are fabulous! I have some interesting pieces of jewelry that have been passed down through the family over the years that are recycled in one form or another. I have a couple of pair that were made from beautiful buttons that date back about 150 years (the buttons - the reimagining was done about 100 years ago). One pair was of buttons from a dress that a daughter remembered had been a favorite of her mother's and this is how she chose to honor her mom. At some point, later in the 30s, they were altered again to become screw-backs and that's how they've remained. I also have several pair of gold (and some gold and gemstone) pre-Civil War ear bobs that had also been altered to be screw backs. Some I took to a jeweler to have them restored for pierced ears. And I have a pair of very beautiful, very long Spanish gold and emerald earrings that I always planned to take to a jeweler to have broken down into two pair of earrings. It would be simple to do as they are sort of in sections, hooked together for movement, already. Wow - got way off topic there! 😂 Anyway, I LOVE this idea! And it's a gift anyone would be happy to receive. Or should be, anyway! So distinctive and classy and with the bonus of having been made with love! I really liked that you were able to include a couple of different styles, including ones requiring earwires. I liked your idea of enamel paint - I had thought Rub N Buff originally, but the paint even covers the glue and might be even longer lasting. Wishing you the merriest of Christmases, sweet Meredith! Enjoy your time with and the love of your family. ❤️✨🎄💚🌟💚🎄✨❤️ PS Shout out to your brother-in-law for his awesome tree base! And for his ability to hear the seriousness of your request!
Meredith, this is such a fantastic idea! The earrings are beautiful and I hope you will share the responses they receive. I'm hoping to try making some. Wishing you a very merry Christmas! ❤️🎄🎉
I think you are very crafty. I enjoyed this video very much. So anytime you want to do another one we will all be here I’m sure. Very Merry Christmas to you and family.
Love! Will be doing this for my two picky designer girls next year! Merry Christmas Meredith…I have been here since almost the beginning…I love your videos! Such positivity, honesty and love! Thank you! ❤️
I Love this! What a great idea! I love handmade stuff too! I found a Fishing Lure that was SO CUTE I bought two of them and made earrings for myself. (the lures were bees) I get a Lot of compliments on them.
What a clever idea Meredith… definitely going to look for designer sweaters/tops at the thrift stores for the buttons! Enjoy your Christmas season 🎄🎶🙏🤗
Getting ready to go spend Christmas Eve with my boyfriend's family for the first time, some merry Mere content was just what I needed to chill out beforehand. Feels like every time it comes up the schedule gets expanded, apparently I didn't ask enough questions initially 😂 Yesterday I asked what time it started, "5:30pm." *pause* "but we leave at 5." Today at 2pm I found out we don't eat there until 7-7:30ish. About an hour later I found out we might not get home until after midnight! At least I've met all but 3 people who'll be there, it's not a terribly big group, just apparently an all-night event!
It's 5:00 and the scope has expanded yet again, we are now not leaving until 5:15, but we are picking up his aunt, who needs help replacing her microwave before we leave??? The actual event doesn't start until quarter to 7 which makes food time make more sense, at least, but I didn't expect to spend so long in the car 😂 definitely a chaotic Christmas!
Hahaha!!! That sounds about right!! You sound like a part of the family!! I was laughing reading this- next time you need him to write out the itinerary 3 days out to give you time to mentally prepare! Both sides of our families have multi-day celebrations. It is so much fun now, but I can only imagine walking into it- we’re loud and casual, just fun and togetherness! I hope that you have the best time ever at your all evening Christmas Eve outing!! And good job taking care of his aunt!! ❤️🎄❤️
You are sweet, Karen - I think that if we put our energy into something, any of us can do anything- it is finding the time that is the biggest struggle! I hope that you have a Merry Christmas!!!
Loved this video. That is something so unique and made from the heart. I have watched all your videos. I’m hooked. I hope you hade a great Christmas and a happy New Year
Merry Christmas Ross and Meredith and family. Great choice of buttons. Great hobby if you have the time. Do they have bigger buttons with the same design to make a matching necklace? Home made gifts are nice to receive from someone special's heart to yours. Beading is expensive but if you can afford it, it can be fun as well. You can make bracelet and necklace sets. Oh the possibilities! Enjoy family time together this Christmas. Keep safe and have fun! xoxo
Merry Christmas!! A few of the styles had very slightly larger or smaller buttons, but it was not a huge difference size-wise. One Christmas my mom gave me and my sister-in-law a class to a local bead shop. It was such a fun experience! (And yes, expensive!!) time is always the crux in crafting. Ross and I have a ‘craft room’ and have an embroidery machine, 3d printer, sewing machines, etc. but I feel like we only take the time to make as gifts and out of necessity. In fact, I am heading up there now to take in Rebecca’s dress for Christmas Eve service tonight!! I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas!! 🎄 ❤️
It is a Christmas tree base, or Collar- I’ll make a community post/ it is so cool, really, I think he won Christmas this year! It is carpeted on the bottom, and I set the base of my tree inside of it. It looks like a drum and is just beautiful! My only hiccup has been that I have to stack my gifts around it, but that is not a problem!
They did! We are actually in the middle of our last Christmas! My brother came into town yesterday morning, so I gave my last SIL hers yesterday. I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas!
That was fun! And a wonderful gift idea. I noticed that your E-6000 had a fine pointed nozzle. Where does one get that? I always find E-6000 difficult to apply because it blobs out of the tube. Enjoy your big win this holiday!
Hey Ellen! It is the e6000 jewelry and bead glue- I got it at Michael’s. I end up going through 3/4 tips, but I have also bought generic tips for it on Amazon in the past! rstyle.me/+Sh-LVZl1UVsUll2vW5uwrA Merry Christmas!’ ❤️🎄❤️
I made earrings from buttons before they were buttons that looked like antique coins. They no longer make them. I drilled holes at the top and cut off the shanks of the buttons. Then added the findings. I made them drop earrings. They are very different. I also make gem stone jewelry. But I use cheap wire because gold wire gets expensive fast and I make the jewelry for me, not to sell. I find that people dont want to pay for jewelry they want you to give it to them. I had sapphire drop earrings with pearls and someone wanted a pair. I offered to make it at cost for the stones and they still thought it was too much. (Less than $30)
Nice idea! CURIOUS WHY DONT YOU EVER WEAR ANY OF THOSE CUTE GLASSES YOU GOT? I loved them and want to get some but, if there’s a problem it would be nice to know. My dr appointment is in January so… MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 to you and yours. Good health in the New Year too!😊
I wear the red ones and the pink ones fairly often in real life! I had not even realized that I wasn’t wearing them in videos- I’ll be sure to shake it up more! I work in front of a computer all day at work and I have not had any trouble with eye strain, etc. I would just ask that your doctor measure your pupillary distance so that they get all of those measurements right! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! I LOVE every single thing about this. I'd totally watch a once a month "Craft with me" type video.
So would I!!! Merry Christmas!!!🎄🎄🎄
Thank you so much, Merry Christmas, Betty!!
Thank you! I think I might incorporate some more of them, it is fun to do something a little different. I know that it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but that is ok! I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄 ❤️
I totally agree! It would be so much fun.
Me as well!!

Homemade gifts are truly a labor of love. I'm getting ready to retire, you have inspired me to start making jewelry 😊
Congratulations on your upcoming retirement, that is so exciting!!! Merry Christmas!! ❤️🎄❤️

Merry Christmas, Vickie!
These are beautiful. Awesome gift. What did your brother in law make you. We need more details. Please

@ the base of my fake tree spins the whole tree so I have to not put anything under anyways. I love the collared look.
