Hi Eric. Once again thanks for the Old Orchard Street Tour. As I mentioned in other tours of Old Orchard Beach, I am so excited to see and especially remember those wonderful years in ORB. My Mom, Dad and Brothers spent our vacations there at the Old Colonial Motel, since 1955-1963. My dad would go to Saco to go deep sea fishing while I spent my time at the beach and of course, the Pier. I really appreciate your detailed descriptions. Many sites I remember are no longer there. The Old Orchard Beach Hotel with a wide front porch, tables with white table cloths and very good dinner selections. I still remember Bill's Pizza, the old merry go round and of course Nora's Ark. On the Pier I played Skel Ball and always ended up with loads of tickets to swap for prizes. HEY!!! Once again, thanks for sharing this video. There were tears in my eyes watching and remembering the wonderful times I had as a young man.
The REAL Maine coast begins at Belfast. That would put the "family" in your family vacation! A road trip from Belfast to Fort Kent via Rt. 1 would be family fun, too!
We stayed in OOB last year but it was nearing the end of the season and most places were closed. Will have to head back in the summer for sure! -Candice, Andrew, and Riley 🐾
You must have gone on the one nice day we had in maine is been raining every day since 😢 fun fact old orchard Beach has been a go too destination for the people of Quebec since the early 1900s
I cannot imagine why! Quebec City is one of the most beautiful and charming cities in the world! I visit as often as I can. Maine is my home, but I don't find Maine all that "charming." Although Augusta has TWO pieces of architecture worth the trip--two genuine Bullfinches! The PO on Water Street and the Statehouse. One can skip the Maine coast altogether. It no longer has any connection to the State of Maine. It is just a borough of NYC and exists only for the summer. After Labor Day it vanishes like Brigadoon!
OOB is not the OOB of years ago. The pier is lame. Crowded, dirty, overpriced but still good pizza and fries. It’s a 2 hour stop unless you’re doing the beach and willing to dish out $25 for parking. Go at 1 AM and see the rats.
The best pizza in North America is not in OOB. It is not in Maine. It is not in New York. The best pizza in North America is in Montreal's underground city.
Great work, thanks for posting, a lot has changed since my last visit in 1959
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.

There are two things no city needs--restaurants and tourists.

The pier is probably defunct by mow. Dirty Unsanitary place for sure.
OOB is the ugliest blotch on the Atlantic coast! But let the damn tourists go there. It keeps them out of Portland.
Lol I live here ! Nothing special
Lol! So tru , tell me about it babe
