Over 35 burglaries a day! For a city which is 75 square miles, 20 of which is water, so basically close to 1 car burglary per square mile, every day! Yay for diversity, equity, and inclusion! 🙌
I called the police when a brand new $600 dollar tool was stolen from my truck at a gas station. The Gas station owner showed me the video footage and it showed two guys take it and put it in their car and drive off, their license plate was visible. When the police came, they treated me as the criminal. They wanted to see my driver license, insurance and registration. I told them about the video, but they didn't even bother to go inside to take a look. I guess it would be pointless to call the police next time as an hour or so of my life was wasted and treated as the criminal when something was stolen from me. I will be breaking legs if I ever catch anyone next time doing that. It seems like police officers' job nowadays is to give out tickets to make money for cities instead of actually investigating and protecting the people from criminals. I felt the police was hoping my car was not registered or any other reason to steal my truck so the city can auction it off plus all my tools in the truck
Absolutely agree, their jobs now is to give out tickets. I don’t blame them. They don’t want to end up being prosecuted and charged themselves and going to jail for the rest of their lives if they do what they are supposed to do …

So the cops won’t stop “known fencing operations” because of the catch & release policies put in place by democrats. All they're allowed to do is write parking tickets.
I wonder how long it'll be before making a comment like that on social media will get you in trouble with the law, the government, whatever. I'm guessing not very many years at all.
Organized crime and the cops are getting their cut. That's what it seems like to me. They have too much power, and that's why just changing the politicians won't solve this. The cops need to be investigated for their involvement in organized crime.
Why? In these Democrat led places they just put them back on the streets to do it again. They are protecting the criminals from prosecution, claiming they are victims. No, it’s the victims of these criminals that are the victims, but until the justice system sees it that way, the criminals will grow in number, strength, and violence. They are emboldened by the lack of enforcement of the law.
I think the problem isn't they don't catch the guys, it's they are not punished severe enough to deter them doing it again. Arrested Wed, out Thur. Over and over. So many times see someone with their 5th or 6th conviction get little to not jail time.
Justin should get the $100,000 reward. He tracked the stolen goods to the fencing house and reported them. The fact that they aren't paying out or even going over there to try and retrieve the goods says everything about SF.
Unbelievable. We are actually living in a world here where criminals are treated with more leniency than law-abiding citizens. It's other-worldly. People are starting to wake up and paying attention, but we're not anywhere near people waking up yet.
@@fringeminority3224 No kidding. I kid you not here in Milwaukee they recently sentenced a man to PROBATION for FELONY MURDER as part of a plea deal, I couldn't believe it. It's catch and release here, rarely any serious consequences for criminals, and it's really having a terrible impact on the city.
You do that, and the cops will show up all of a sudden. The cops protect the criminals nowadays, and not just the ones on the street, but the ones in office.
These people needs to be arrested for 25+ years. They are breaking peoples windows just to see if they have anything in the trunk and then they break the other window and take the goods. The amount of trauma it causes individuals is staggering. Who knows how many windows they break on a daily basis, imagine all the people effected.
😭 I came to Las Vegas Nevada to interview with staff of the Andre Rieu orchestra. The second opportunity was to lay down my instrument and dance the Waltz. I was working out for 2 years 6 hours a day to make sure I was in perfect form and physically fit for the 6 weeks of performance. I secured about six different houses to live at temporarily. Drove back to Utah to get my violin, accordion, ballroom dresses and shoes. Paid the $4,000 for the ballroom dance instructor. Was at the lvac in Henderson for 3 weeks while at a hotel. Went to the storage unit to get my instruments then went to the gym because the other housemate told me that homeowner told her that she gets the bathroom to herself. He told me to go to the LVAC 1 mile from this house to swim and for some reason that location the homeowner told me to go to didn't have a swimming pool. At Henderson location they would not allow you to use the shower unless you went swimming. So I spent 20 minutes perusing the store inside and I left and came out to find the windows busted out on my $80,000 Suburban. Everything gone!!! I waited 6 hours and the cops never showed up with several different people making the call including the manager at gym. 🤬 Housemate (homeowner) promised to take me to police dept to make report. We did go once at 10 pm and OF COURSE they were closed. IDIOT! 🙄. Insurance only gives you 60 days to make the report. I was told LATER that his white 2004 Chevy truck was seen parked RIGHT NEXT to my car 45 minutes before I ran back in to the managers office. Yes, STILL SURVIVING in the endless physical ( he wanted to adjust my back & I haven't been out of pain since, feet broken twice ) and emotional torture of having My Entire LIFE DESTROYED by a thief. 😭
Why? This is EXACTLY what the voters asked for. They voted these assholes into office. You think this shit is new? SF / Oakland have been liberal controlled for DECADES. This isn't a one-off.
Stop blaming the politicians and either look at your neighbor or look in the mirror. They were voted in and they keep getting voted in. So the residence are to blame. Hell they had a chance to get rid of Newsom and voted him right back into office. So at this point the people of California have earned what is happening to them.

Police are not going to do anything after being defunded and many police officers leaving, the average person just has to do everything themselves in Nor Cal
The same thing happens with phones. My mother in law had hers stolen and we tracked the phone. The Fremont police said the couldn’t do anything even though we tracked the phone to a house. It’s all about liability and covering themselves. It was really frustrating. We could confront them ourselves but risk being hurt or worse over a iPhone.
Cops: we dont arrest criminals Citizens: time to become a vigilante to get our items back. Cops: stop your inder arrest thats illegal. Criminals: laughs in stolen money.
There were a lot of vigilance committees in America in the past - including in San Francisco. There were definitely mixed results but I think at this point just getting the vigilance committee together and serious about it would get the officials to do their job
Lol, you consider vigilante justice before changing how you vote? How do you even plan to carry out your "vigilante justice" in the state where you r voting has gotten you the weakest 2A protection in the country?
The worst part is that if Mr Sick and Tired were to defend himself, _he_ would get thrown in jail while the actual criminals would sue the city and win a massive payout.
The cops, judges, and city are all on the side of the criminals and against the regular citizen. You can think of the criminal as a "state agent", really.
How would he defend himself? Rape whistle? Californians voted away the only way to protect themselves. Criminals aren’t scared of a phone or video footage. What they are afraid of are fast moving objects that travel 1200 to 3300 fps.
This is total lack of accountability, interest and leadership by officials in SF. Why in the world SF residents accept this is beyond me. Vote them out and implement a lawful society again. I don't know how anyone lives in this lawless sh!^* hole.
I agree with you 100% on the lack of accountability on the part of elected officials in San Francisco. We desperately need a change that will restore the beauty and specialness of San Francisco.
They're too afraid to act on the people doing it in fear of sounding racist. They also don't want to authorize vigilantes because it'll create liability issues. I say do it anyway.
Most voters are women and they are generally left. Men have lost their rights to put down their subjects - wives and slaves Traditionally they are his property. Now we have womens rights, human rights, immigration rights We must care and respect for those criminals.
*I’ve had almost an identical nightmare* : $30,000 of camera gear stolen from my Tesla in Oakland WITH A TRACKER, and I caught them ON VIDEO in the act of smashing up my vehicle and ripping through my trunk. I have video of them burglarizing my car because I (stupidly) tried to confront and chased after them. I watched in despair at where the tracker on my stolen goods went (for holidays too) and know exactly where the criminals were - got one on camera using stolen credit cards at a store. OKPD said the home was a “known place” for stolen goods - and I have the same questions this man does. Another $20,000 in car damage as they took knives to the seats and trashed the car in 84 seconds while I was at a restaurant picking up food. I’m devastated and wish that I could speak to someone about this because it has been months and Oakland Police have not made any movement. One of the trackers is still in a home, and I can watch it moving around. Some of my favorite spots are in Oakland, including the restaurant I was ordering takeout from when this happened. One of my favorite cities and yet I haven’t been back since this incident was so violating. (Edit: spelling/grammar due to voice dictation)
I'm sorry that happened to you and don't blame you for never going back. But as others have stated in this thread, who did you vote for? You don't have to say actually but going forward make sure you're for law and order. You don't have to be a conservative or Republican to want law and order BTW.
A friend of mine had his duffel bag stolen in Portland, it contained his mac pro. He tracked it down and it led to a homeless camp. The camp was fenced off and guarded by the police. When he showed the cops they said hes not allows to enter, he could see his laptop moving throughout the camp. The cops protected the homeless and denied him any way to get his property. Sad times
@@whatthe5952facts. If we actually rise up and do something about it ourselves, the cops will actually get up and do something about it... by arresting YOU and not the criminal
Couple of out of touch reporters not asking why no bail, no consequence laws are not being changed. Why work when you can just spend an hour or two robbing(taking) groceries and other goods that you need like clothing, etc.
Well, in CA, I would guess the victim would be in trouble for taking justice into his own hands, while the criminal would be able to sue the victim. Clown world
This is *NORMAL* and happens all over the Bay Area. My friend had his bicycle stolen (in Fremont). 1 - He tracked it down (to the local fence), got a picture of it, made a formal complaint to the police 2 - *The cops told him to GET LOST,* My friend then *went to the fence and BOUGHT BACK HIS BIKE* _(the criminal was 'good enough' to give him a discount based on the fact that it was his own bike he was trying to buy back!)_
SF Police union protects cops from any accountability. They don't risk anything in telling a crime victim to get lost. And you can thank our wonderful Democratic party for turning control of municipal services to the unions.
Third World country situation that's for voting liberal mayors! The hard working middle income folks are being squeezed by both ends... the very rich and powerful and the poor welfare and often criminals!
Now, drive through an SF street intersection just as the light turns red...you will receive a bail notice to appear or to pay a hefty fine; that's how efficient SF police/traffic services tend to operate. However, within blocks of a police station criminals carry out illegal activities knowing full well that they will not be caught. And, for this we pay taxes.

No, not at all. Even the victim in this story was a former drug addict... lol. It's a cycle of criminals protecting other criminals and there being zero consequences for bad behavior.
The policy makers have made it clear they don’t want police to do anything about this issue. They think they can solve it without law enforcement intervention.
In my view, the problem isn't even that someone broke into his car and stole his valuables. The real issue is that the police knew EXACTLY what was going on in his specific circumstance, and actively decided not to do anything about it. That's wild.
No it honestly isn't that shocking. How do cartels and police work together in Mexico? Well... that's your answer. Great job letting in the poor helpless migrants though, yeah? Indeed, they did vote for this.... openly.

These cities need to figure out how to communicate and coordinate more efficiently to better protect their constituents because one break-in can sway tens of votes, tens of thousands of break-ins can sway an election.

Organized crime and the cops are getting their cut. That's what it seems like to me.
They have too much power, and that's why just changing the politicians won't solve this.
The cops need to be investigated for their involvement in organized crime.
Horrifying criminals have more rights than tax payers. Set up traps and catch people!
Yeah, only setting up a (deadly) trap would get you arrested. This fucked up system is bound to collapse 😊
When this happens, its because the politicians are getting a cut from criminal activity.
I think the problem isn't they don't catch the guys, it's they are not punished severe enough to deter them doing it again. Arrested Wed, out Thur. Over and over. So many times see someone with their 5th or 6th conviction get little to not jail time.
If the fine them and seize their car things may change

I sure hope Schuck has never had any affiliation with the defeund the police movement, or any political culture that makes actually dealing with social ills as difficult as possible for those who actually have to deal with it. He has clearly enjoyed the benefits of an upmarket SF hipster lifestyle. According to his own site, he has had a long career in photography and production. He had the foresight to put a tracking device on his equipment, but not the wisdom to insure $24k worth of gear? He chose to go out and about with uninsured gear. That isn't the police's fault. Narcissism is a terrible disease.
What's crazy is that people act surprised with this when they've been warned about their "soft on crime" leaders.
EDIT *
Despite differing opinions, try and keep the dialogue (comments) civil. We're already wedged apart as Americans due to politics. We can't let a stupid comment from some random guy on the internet (me) to further divide us.
What's crazy is people think the police aren't intentionally slow rolling their responses to non-violent crime as a form of protest against police reform. Multiple officials from multiple police unions have been caught advocating for this.
@@bragr_ sounds made up.
Yes. Reform all of it. Blaming soft on crime leaders is very simple minded.

Wow, San Fransisco is such a lovely area, even the news anchor reporting the story was randomly attacked a few days earlier. Keep it up guys, you're doing great
You have to understand man. Let the criminals do their thing else you are racist. Thats the world we live in now.
True my man, SF is just such a serene and peaceful paradise, I mean with 10k car break ins, mass homeless encampments, and the reporter getting his arm broken in a random attack... it's seems like such a nice place, totally not a horribly mismanaged city that protects criminals. No, not at all. Even the victim in this story was a former drug addict... lol. It's a cycle of criminals protecting other criminals and there being zero consequences for bad behavior.

@@thekamotodragonyou left out one thing. If you defend yourself, you go to jail. Especially if you are armed.
I visited San Francisco in 1995 and it was absolutely a beautiful place.
I would fear going there nowadays.
Unfortunately the lack of police involvement puts the responsibility and outcomes into the hands of the victims.
If you don’t let police , police what involvement do you want them to do?
The policy makers have made it clear they don’t want police to do anything about this issue. They think they can solve it without law enforcement intervention.
You mean due to all the bribes the police take?
The voters abandoned the police.
doesn't matter if the police arrest them the D.A will just let them out of jail you people that vote dem o rat got what you voted for now live with it
renting a car in sf and oakland is a big no no
In my view, the problem isn't even that someone broke into his car and stole his valuables. The real issue is that the police knew EXACTLY what was going on in his specific circumstance, and actively decided not to do anything about it. That's wild.
What's wild is Justin will keep on voting (D)
No it honestly isn't that shocking. How do cartels and police work together in Mexico? Well... that's your answer. Great job letting in the poor helpless migrants though, yeah? Indeed, they did vote for this.... openly.
Imagine blaming the police when they literally cannot do their job. The soft on crime judges and prosecutors will 100% let the criminals go the same day. And then hit the department with a lawsuit for being waycist. So ya. Why would you do anything when literally nothing happens to the criminal. Your arrest might even get them a payout.
not wild at all. it is the logical outcome of the politics at this place. nobody should be surprised.
No. They are all rotten.
I live in the Bay Area and don't vote like the far left lunatics. BUT in Oakland/SF, you DO NOT DO NOT leave ANYTHING in your car that you do not want stolen. NEVER. Not once.
Do you leave your trunk open too? Ive seen videos of locals doing so so thieves leave their car alone.
@@vincentsgaming naw I’ve seen in in the news but never in person. That only happens deep by the tenderloin/Japan town. The rest of the Bay Area outside of sf/Oakland is pretty safe Forsure.
What’s the point of your irrelevant, unsolicited political opinion? Does political partisanship make citizens more vulnerable to robbery? Did it somehow help you make your point about not leaving anything in your car? Here, I’ll help you with that: no, it didn’t. But it did make you sound like an uneducated troll regurgitating buzz words regardless whether they make sense in context. I’ve been around the area a long time and I hate to burst your bubble but theft has been a problem under EVERY administration going back to old Ronnie. The police are just as corrupt though. The cartels pay them more than enough to turn a blind eye. Open borders are amazing aren't they?
Unbelievable what has happened with the lack of law enforcement and prosecution
They voted for all this.
Many of these crimes are being committed by the alt right groups like Proud B*ys who flock into liberal cities to commit crime sprees and make the cities look bad.
That's why the police won't investigate these crimes because it's thier supporters who commit them.
That's what my liberal friends tell me anyways.

They are liberals they live in a fantasy world. The land of make believe. When reality hits they have to conjure up new bs to maintain their existence.
Sounds like an inside mafia operation. They know who is doing it.
My truck was stolen and the chp investigator said they knew who did it but short of them confessing, they would not charge them. Even though the person's blood was in the truck, in my car, and in another truck they stole and crashed near my house. I got my truck back, which was found thru Facebook, not law enforcement. Lost about 1k worth of stuff. So instead of defunding the police, we disabled them but still pay for a service we don't receive.
It’s ridiculous. Many years back my car was broken into and the cop said he said the department knows the people who does this. They didn’t do anything about it.
This is what happens when people are prosecuted and when they are they get a slap on the wrist. When criminals aren’t afraid of committing the crimes, they have no reason to stop.
Ok.. I'm going to be that guy.
You're in SF break-ins are happening every day. And have been for years. Why would you leave anything in the car. Let alone a 24k camera??
I find it hard to be sympathetic to the dude.
As a photographer, I will never go to MANY parts of the bay with my gear unless it's strictly a pull up and offload setup. Even when I'm on location in some remote area I STILL find myself looking over my shoulder because of this nonsense. I've been to SF proper twice in the past year and witnessed break-ins BOTH times. And the officers will tell you exactly how they get away with it, but ultimately "there's not much we can do because of XXXXXX" so I'm 100% with this guy in that something needs to change. These cities need to figure out how to communicate and coordinate more efficiently to better protect their constituents because one break-in can sway tens of votes, tens of thousands of break-ins can sway an election.
If you want change you have to vote for conservatives, pretty simple. If you vote liberal than you are getting exactly what you voted for.
I thought a Tesla will alert the driver via the Tesla app that someone suspicious is around the car? Doesn't the car have cameras and sensors? Once pressure was placed on the window, the sensors should have triggered the alarm and sent a notification to the man's phone..
I have literally seen many Tesla drivers get alerts that someone dusty is trying to break into their car.
I heard stories about wedding photographers being robbed of gear while in the process of taking photos of brides in their wedding gowns at the Palace of Fine Arts
Look at the bigger picture. It's not just theft. It's violence and the threat of bodily harm or even death.
Protect yourself for now however you can. The powers that be are doing this by design. They want the city to shut down and real estate values to drop. This will be sorted out in the upcoming civil war.
If the city and police will not do anything then it is time for citizens to stop it.
Ok 😂
What’s your plan?
Yes, suit up, Batman!

About 20 years ago my husband’s motorcycle was stolen in Chicago. We reported it to the police. We figured it was gone for good. A couple of years later he got a ticket in the mail regarding the motorcycle. I called him and he said, so what? I excitedly told him there’s an address! It was in Little Village, a gang infested area. We went to the police and they refused to help us. We went anyway armed only with a cell phone and on the porch were about four gangbangers. They looked at him and denied knowing anything about the motorcycle. They knew it was stolen so when we towed it they didn’t say a thing.
