Indications
Infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:
Upper respiratory tract and ENT organs infections:
tonsillitis, pharyngitis, paratonsillitis, laryngitis, otitis media, sinusitis, diphtheria, scarlet fever.

Contraindications

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Allowed for use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding after a medical assessment of the benefits / risks. The WHO European Office recommends in the treatment of chlamydial infection in pregnant women.
Method of administration and dosage
The recommended daily dosage for adults and adolescents over the age of 14 is one to two grams of Wilprafen, a standard dose of 500 milligrams 3 times a day. The daily dose should be divided into 2 - 3 doses. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 3 grams per day.

In the case of acne vulgaris and acne globules, it is recommended to prescribe the drug at a dose of 500 milligrams twice a day for the first two to four weeks, then 500 milligrams once a day as a maintenance treatment for 8 weeks.

In the case of persistent severe diarrhea, one should bear in mind the possibility of developing life-threatening pseudomembranous colitis against the background of josamycin.
In patients with renal insufficiency, treatment should be carried out taking into account the results of appropriate laboratory tests (determination of endogenous creatinine clearance).
Consideration should be given to the possibility of cross-resistance to various antibiotics from the macrolide group (microorganisms that are resistant to treatment with chemically related antibiotics may also be resistant to josamycin).
The effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms was not observed.
Side effects

Rarely - stomatitis, constipation, decreased appetite

Hypersensitivity reactions:
