this was so cozy and wholesome! suddenly i’m in the mood to do a 24 hour readathon. your editing is great as always & can i just compliment your music choice real quick?? i’m absolutely living for this longer form content you’ve been putting out lately!! 🩵
I would love to see a 24 hour readathon with you and Ellias. You both traveling to different parks and cafes while giving updates on your different books and motivating each other to keep awake.
the wayward children series is one of my favorites of all time. i think it's so interesting how "beneath the sugar sky" seems to consistently be everyone's least favorite, bc i really enjoyed it! i recently read "greymist fair" which was very fairytale esque and i really loved it!
I've always loved your readathons and this one was so fun to watch as well The editing in this was also top tier and I am really glad that you enjoyed your time during this video with this series. 🤧❤
This is a great series to marathon because it's short, but also because of the alternating stories. One with the crew, one in a world, and back and forth again. This makes it a little bit easier to keep track of everything and still enjoy the books.
I had to pause this a few minutes in and get my copy of Every Heart a Doorway on audio, listened to two chapters, smiled and went back to your video. The push I needed to finally start this series! Thank you Jesse, this was such an amazing reading marathon, absolutely loved it. I've only read Seanan under her other pen name before, Mira Grant. Her Newsflesh series and all the short stories for it are some of my favorites, highly recommend them :)
I love the style of your videos. The editing in this video is fantastic. Excellent choice of music as well. If you enjoy doing the painting by stickers, you should try diamond art pictures (if you haven't already) they can be very relaxing.
I LOVE this series. The Wayward Children is one of my favorite series ever and In An Absent Dream is my favorite in the series too. I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days after because of how much it emotionally wrecked me. Also I loved this video so much and am glad to be getting back into your video recently
I so enjoy your editing style. I just finished a chunky book ive been reading slowly for the last 3 months (745 pages) and this inspired me to do a little last week of july readathon. ❤ Hope youre taking care. 😊
Ahhh Jesse your videos always come at just the right moment... like I was literally just up all night last night finishing a work project and then I see you've posted this... I'm calling that a parallel. I'm calling it the stars aligning and I don't care. Your videos just always always make my day. Keep doing you xx
jesse , my guy , you almost made me spit out my sprite with the "crimanal offensive side eye " LOL . anyways will always love you and your videos . always wanting to read afterwards
Pls do more reading vlogs/readathons (even if they are not 24h ones cause rest and take care of yourself 💕). I've watched all of your vlogs multime times and they've been my go to when I need smt comforting to watch for 5+ years now 😅. Love all of your content but these hold a special place in my heart so tysmm 💕
I love that you just read all of them! I also love your editing in your vlogs! I’ve never read this series but I’ve heard good things. The last book I read with fairytale vibes was The Dollmaker of Krakow, it was so good and I wish it would get more attention!
My number one reader type is "Modern Romantic" (second and third: young at heart and subject matter). As with other quizzes, it was really hard for me to choose sometimes. Especially the genre one! And the covers, and also the vacation home one and basically every question had multiple answers for me.
In an Absent Dream is my favorite in this series. It's the only one I HAD to reread. Twice. Also, the sushi part of the video was so Amélie. Very pleasant :)
I love listening to audio books and working on diamond paintings! Similar to paint by sticker lol. I need to read this series, I remember trying to first but can't remember what happened. Time to try it again!
I would definitely call that a successful readathon!!! Glad to see you had a great time with it. I've never read the Wayward Children books, but they definitely sound right up my alley. I've also never thought of listening to an audio book while browsing local shops, but that actually sounds like a wonderful day. I usually listen to mine while cross-stitching, arting, or doing puzzles, so much like your paint-by-sticker. Also, I took the Bookfinity quiz and I got Modern Romantic (with a side of Serial Reader and Subject Matter Expert) - looking forward to seeing what it recommends me as I've been in a bit of a slump lately.
Beneath the Sugar Sky is my favourite in the wayward children series. For me, it is just a fun nonsensical adventure about a group the I love on a mission resurrecting a dead person. And I loved it because the nonsensical nature just brought such joy to me in this book. And there were other aspects that appealed to me as well beyond the world, the characters, and of course something that I love in books which is just death stuff in general but here the idea of resurrection/necromancy. One of the things that I liked was seeing Nancy in her element in her world, it was nice to return to her character for a cameo. I would say the one problem that I have here is that there is too many plot points for a novella and as a result you are kind of rushed through it. You blink or space out for a few pages and suddenly you are in a different location, and sometimes a different world entirely. But then again I have mixed feelings about the first book in the series because it simply wasn't the story I wanted with this kind of concept, but it is also a good place to begin the series, but the following books are more my speed. The next least favourite is actually In An Absent Dream which I gave four stars, and my main problem here was the fact that it felt like I was reading about a random person living a life instead of reading a story and this is not a type of story structure that works for me. So as a result, as much as I love the world and Lundy's struggles, that element did bring down my enjoyment.
Yes with the epic uploads lately! That definitely counts as reading them all in 24 hours. I LOVE the writing of the series but I don't love the individual stories as much.
Seeing Kayla (Booksandlala) and you read this series always reminds me that I need start it as well, I'm so curious! But I can't afford it right now so it must be pushed forwards for a little while longer.
Jessie you make the best booktube vids on here I love the esthetic and the vlog like vids. I have a possible video idea for u. The next time you do one of these 24 hour readathons you should do that persy Jackson series you were the reason I even picked it up and I just finished it about a week ago hope your doing okay ❤ best wishes to you 😊
I took the quiz and it says that I’m young at heart and I’m a Subject Matter Expert. I’m also a little Serial Reader. ☺️ What a fun quiz. Longest time I’ve read a book was 5 hours straight. Work has been dead! So I read. It’s been a relaxing but boring day. Paid to read! Yay! ❤
Jesse, you should try adult fantasy genere like Serpent an the wings of night or Fourth Wing with reading for 24 hours video sometime when you're in the mood for it, I loved your ash princess readthon video so much. I LOOOVE the editing by the way and also, you have the best taste in music :)
Just took the quiz Jesse and I Got Serial Reader with also a little bit young at heart and I’m a life long learner very interesting & I loved this quiz it was fun Happy Reading 😊📖
I just started ny summer break and I will for sure also be starting a 24 hr marathon pretty soon. Answering your question, yest I have kept up with the series. My favorite is I think "where yhe drowned girls go". I am generally a bigger fan of the ones set in our world.
Are you a mind reader? 🙀 I was just thinking about that I would like to see another 24h readathon as I was watching your video from a couple of months ago the other day! So excited 😸😸
I've never done a 24 hour readathon. But I do remember being interrupted at a restaurant by someone who was surprised to see I was actually reading a book. He said Americans don't read. Interesting about the candles. I usually go to be when they're needed!
I really want to read this series, I love stories where children from our world get to have adventures in magical realms. BTW I lost it at "What is this hair?!" 🤣
Also I've been meaning to try boba tea, but it's not a big thing here in France and I'm afraid I wont like the bubbles (are they like caviar? I hate the popping of caviar eggs)
I love the vibes of this video, but sometimes I wonder how much of the 24 hours is gone because of these incredible shots hahaha but then I remember... audio books
JESSE. the editing in this video. INCREDIBLE! the music. INCREDIBLE! the nature shots. INCREDIBLE! i loved everything in this video 🤩

"The Hazel Wood" for fairytale vibes! And it's like the original fairytales, too. The ones that probably shouldn't have been for children.
Ummm if you don’t pick up Fourth Wing soon I will personally pick up a copy & deliver it to your house. 😂 So good!
I love listening to audio books and working on diamond paintings! Similar to paint by sticker lol. I need to read this series, I remember trying to first but can't remember what happened. Time to try it again!
I’ve always been intrigued by diamond paintings, but for some reason they look so complex!
@@jessethereader haha they aren’t that tricky you should try ‘em out! I’ve actually I have a few bookish themed ones 😅

I just started the series in March and it’s a pretty good series book 2 & 4 are the best ones in the series so far I got to go finish it.
Yes! Would love to hear your thoughts on the rest of the series. :)
