Remember: Vegapunk himself said that he is not able to erase every part of a creature's natural behavior, which is why the shark still had shark instincts. In the same way, Kuma's innate desire to protect likely could not be erased.

the only thing that bugs me is that Kuma seems even larger than usual, being able to hold Bonney's entire body (Still in adult form) in the palm of his hand. Where before Luffy was bigger than his hand in "Nothing happened"

I really believe that Kizaru helped Luffy. Ever since during his fight with Luffy, Kizaru seemed a bit off from his own self (staring at the ocean while falling towards it), possibly starting to question his actions against his old friends. Hearing Luffy asking for food, he may reached the decision to give Luffy what he needed in order to save everyone that he cares for, while hoping that Saturn would be too focused on Bonney
I think its kizaru too, he is super fast and capable of making light clones. He doesn't want to do the deed himself because in his mind he could never stand against the WG becuase he is cog in the machine but luffy has no restraint.

At the beginning of the saga with the sea beasts, Vegapunk had already told us that despite everything the only thing he wasn't able to do was completely remove the instincts of people/animals and with Kuma it could be the same thing.
To Bonney, I think Kuma was her Nika all along. It would explain why her distorted future form resembles his buff-ness, and it probably is why she became weakened after hearing Saturn proclaim definitively that her father was dead. Her idea of Nika wouldn't ever make the "connection to Strawhat's white form" because that's not who she truly pictures him to be.
I like this because I think everyone has the potential to be Nika in the story. Luffy and Kuma( and even Bonney for herself) are characters who accomplish reaching that state for others

I think that Vegapunk did add a fail save for Kuma. Kuma wanted to leave behind some of Kumas free will and Saturn was having none of it. It’s seemed like Kuma started blipping to Egghead right after Bonny got snatched by Saturn. And Saturn and Kuma had an agreement that Bonny was not to be harmed. So it looks like that as soon as Bonny was harmed BY Saturn, Kuma went father mode.

no, that's not it. kuma was headed to Egghead before bonnie ever saw his memories and anyone even knew saturn was even there. kuma was planning this from before he made vp think he was allowing himself to be erased. What probably happened is that kuma and vegapunk conspired to make this happen and then kuma pushed the memory of it out of vp's head so vp doesn't even remember doing it. I now get to the thought that Kizaru might actually perceive the Freedom's Justice, but in the abscence of an Nika, the only way he saw was to attempt and change the WG from within. Tho he soon realized that it was impossible, having him degrade to an lethargic state and waking up now after having fought Luffy in his Gear 5 and seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel.
My theory that Kumas instinct to protect Bonney couldn't be removed is almost confirmed. Still possible Kuma is somehow still there, but the idea that he is the perfect weapon except for his fatherly instinct is imo the better bittersweet story.

I'm going to be very disappointed and pissed if Kuma's punch gets stopped, however I don't think Oda is cruel enough to make a little girl wish for death and then not have some insanely needed revenge from her father.
Given the emphasis in the previous chapter on Kuma's self-destruct, I figure that's got to come into play soon. Such as what was meant to be Saturn's final trump card against Kuma instead being used to kill Saturn.
I think Kizaru was the one that gave Luffy the food. The longing for his old friends and his silence after the eating panels plus the fact even York couldn’t move makes me believe it was him.
While Oda might pull the "it was an unseen guy" trick for whoever gave Luffy food, it would make a lot of sense to be Kizaru In the 3rd panel after Luffy is begging for food, Kizaru is seen laying down with his arms splayed out, thinking of Sentomaru and Bonney And the next time we see him, it's the 3rd panel after we see Luffy eating from Saturn's perspective, and he's now sitting against an upturned rock- upturned in a way you'd see from a powerful impact Also in the first panel he's laying down on rubble, while in the second he's sitting on much larger unbroken tiles, so it doesn't feel like it's the same location Like, unless Kizaru just decided to sit up to... watch Bonney get her head blown off by Saturn? and the rubble we see in panel 1 is what he's now sitting on, it makes way too much sense for it to be the guy who can move at the speed of light and is also intimately familiar with the people who are about to be exploded Plus Kizaru was always laid back and just did whatever people told him to, so it wouldn't be surprising if he decided to betray the marines by realizing "man, working for these assholes kind of made me an asshole, huh?"
Saturn specified that they did not give her the fruit to eat, but rather used some method to extract the fruit's power and transferred it to her. Perhaps this caused the powers to go dormant until she was older, which explains why she never used them before and didn't feel the effects of the water.

For Kizaru, there is also a panel where he is shown worrying about Sentomaru and Bonnie, and we know not only from the flashback but from him saying many times before in this arc, he cares for these people, and doesn't want to do this, so he is 100% turning coats.
On the subject of Bonney getting bathed by Kuma The panel you mentioned in chapter 1098 shows Kuma bathing Bonney by pouring water on her rather then dipping her in water. SBS 41 is what told us that devil fruit users are vulnerable to not just seawater, but all forms of STANDING water, but not stuff like dripping water, rain, or showers and I'd argue that pouring water on someone like Kuma is shown doing would count as the later.

I think the part about extraction infusion could be why weapons are allowed to have Devil Fruit powers. But more importantly this chapter has me wondering if Kuma has somehow secretly been conscious the entire time that everyone thought he was dead, and he was just quietly enduring the torture he was put through for the sake of his own goals.
I think it was Kizaru who helped feed Luffy. He showed concern for Bonney with his reaction in his mental bubble, his position is different when the scene shows him again, and when Saturn asks who fed Luffy, his reaction is just “…”. His powers could have easily let him get food to Luffy. Keep in mind he can actually manipulate half of his body independent from the other, as we saw on Sabaody. He could have easily made his lower half activate one of the vending machines, and kicked the food over to Luffy, while still appearing to be down (or just moved at light speed to do it).
I don't think it was kizaru, he has to transform into light and can only travel in a straight line. His fruit power is too flashy. I think kizaru saw who did it and decided not to say anything as his first official act of disloyalty to the government.

I feel pretty strongly that it was kizaru who gave Luffy the food. He’s been pushed time and time again in this arc to hurt people that are clearly important to him, and he’s also fast enough to zip off and bring back food. You also see him starting to sit up here. I think that he always tried to distance himself from attachments because of his work but right now he’s having to fight against all the people he’s close with at the behest of someone who is showing just how evil they are.
The paralles between the Kuma Punch and the luffy punch is amazing. Kuma is maybe the most important non-strawhat/family member of luffy in his journey to become Nika. Kuma is Nika to some extent, he brought Liberation and the Dawn for so many people, and he's about to punch a celestial dragon, an act that when Luffy did it, confirmed for Kuma that he was Joyboy. Given that the paw-paw fruit allows Kuma to push out things like pain and memories, I imagine that the key to defeating Saturn would be to somehow remove/push Saturn`s own immortality from his body and reveal his true age and appearance. If anything else, Saturn being struck by a enraged Kuma is not just going to leave the elder with serious wounds he likely won`t be able to regenerate from, he might actually start to panic as his own immortality is threatened by the last living buccaneer

Plus When Bonney stabbed Saturn , He claimed He knew he was going to get stabbed but didnt bother to dodge it so he could get a hold of bonney .
Bonney’s childlike belief in Nika being a reflection of her love for her father explains why her distorted future looks like a Buccaneer body rather than the stretchy strawhat captain. But once she does make the G5 Nika connection, maybe that will revitalize the strength of her fruit as well

Kuma using Armament Haki to punch Saturn which means there is still humanity and will within him somewhere even after being stripped by the final operation.
I'd say it's like a fatherly instinct since Kuma is still a cyborg albeit without a consiousness. Same thing with the Seraphim and mecha-seabeast having inherent instinct still left.
@@VVabsayou forget one thing in the egghead arc, Vegapunk learns memories/emotions can be contained in a lineage factor. Meaning its very possible he didnt fully delete kuma as there were parts he didnt know were relevant.

I actually didn't believe Saint Shiturd when he told Bonney that he was the one who gave her the devil fruit powers, coz Bonney's powers was a secret that cp 8 and Alpha had no knowledge of. I interpreted it as Saint Shiturd discouraging Bonney on using her power's full potential. As one of the elder stars he knows more about devil fruits than anyone, like with Luffy's fruit.

Perhaps when bonney started making a name for herself as a pirate and started making her df powers known, Saturn(i like Shiturd lol) put two and two together that she was ginney's child since he knew what devil fruit extract he gave ginney. Saturn was both gaslighting her to nerf her potential but also being honest bout how her power worked for exposition sakes
I can only think of 2 ways on how Luffy could've gotten his hands on those foods. I was because the spirit of Nika manifested those foods before Luffy could be fully aware on what just happened, or someone gave it to him without anyone knowing it?
I do think that Kuma probably came to defend Bonnie because of the charm that Vegapunk gave her. I just find it weird how Vegapunk called it a “protective charm” although this could’ve just been a weird translation.
There is something the community is missing, first, remember early in the arc where CP0 was returning S-Bear to Vegapunk and it Lucci said it was a defective model. I wonder if S-Bear becomes Kuma’s new vessel or his “son”. Second, Kuma was under some repairs via revolutionaries and then he teleported. They probably removed the bomb Kuma had possibly due to Vegapunk telling Dragon. Lastly Akainu attacked Kuma with magma and Kuma is still in tact. This tells me Kuma is still alive somewhat and is able to use Haki. What do you guys think?
Of course he's still somewhat alive and able to use haki...we quite literally see him doing self-driven stuff and using haki 😅 So while you aren't wrong it's not a theory you need to work up just a small part of the story. I feel like Kuma's situation is more so "soul puppeteering a corpse" than the regular "bodycwith a soul", meaning Kuma is clingng to the last bodly anchors to Earth so he can protect body and do one final revolutionary stand. Whateber his soul will leave once his body is destroyed, or it will pass to another vessel to continue battle, i dont know, but i am certain that Kuma will not make it
Two things in this chapter stood out to me: - First, it's really awesome that Kuma is using Haki in what might be his last punch. There's enough of Kuma in his broken body that wants to protect his daughter. - Second, I wonder if the reason why Kuma had come back in the first place is because the revolutionary army was fiddling around with Kuma's internals, triggering / removing some limiter that "woke up" Kuma.
Its interesting seeing Kizaru sitting up as it shows he’s recovering. So the question why isn’t he participating in the fight, is he having a change of heart after learning the truth about Elder stars? I thought it might’ve been Atlas who gave Luffy the food as for a brief moment Santurn’s powers weren’t working giving her an opportunity to sneak food to Luffy. She did comment about not being able to give him food
The Marines are the Marines amd the world's security is their only interest , to them the Givernment only happens to be slightly above them nothing more.Unfortunately the authority of the 5 Elders forces them to act in accordance with.Kuma was a Rev but along with Vegapunk they also placed their trust in the Navy , Kuma was even a part of the special Marine task force with Kizaru and Sentomaru.Someone like Kuma wouldn't really fit into being a pirate when you think about it.What's more while Kuma is rushing towards Saturn he doesn't hit any of the Marines shooting at him , probably he has an idea of what's happening , knows that were he in their place he'd do the same under Saturn's authority so he doesn't blame them for it.That's the lad Kuma is.
One thing to note, that a lot of people seem to have missed - when Kuma lands he immediatelly says "30...". I believe he probably has already activated self-destruct mode and has less than 30 seconds left. Plus I do believe it's Caribou who delivered food to Luffy (again) and Kizaru just saw everything, but chose to ignore him and that's the reason for "..." near Kizaru.

This backs a theory conversation I saw a while back on one of your videos. It was going on about the Blackbeard pirates using daggers that are capable of stealing/using df. Someone had noticed a stoke of some sort on the handle. This chapter definitely backs that idea
The food is from Mary Geoise when Kuma hit the food supply of the celestials dragons in chapter 1092 before he popped off to Egghead. Then when he lands, Kuma realized, where Luffy is so he can direct the food before he pops in to fight Saint Saturn. As he seen Luffy and has seen him eating to gain his strength even if we don't actually sees it in flashbacks.
This chapter is one of those that's gonna need a reread through after the official translations are out, but from what I understood of Saturn's words, Bonney "drank an extract" of the devil fruit, which made me instantly remember the medicine the world government was giving her during those years she was being "cured" in the church. And about the "8th wife of the holy land" thing, I think Ginny might've been Imu's wife, which is just as scary, if not scarier than her being Saturn's wife, also this would kind of explain what is it that Imu wants with Vivi, which makes me fear what Oda has in store for her.

I think Kizaru giving Luffy food is the only way to make that plot point mean anything. We just saw the big flashback, we saw him on the ground feeling bad for Bonney and Sentomaru (why else even show Sentomaru being captured again this chapter?) And he saw a potential way to help. He's the only one fast enough to help out like this and not be held down by whatever aura Saturn is emitting. Yeah I guess it could be Swamp-boy but that really means and says nothing on top of being a extremely direct Wano repeat.
I think kuma being angry is a huge reference to thriller bark, a body itself has its own will just like what happened with cindry and the same thing plays out with kuma despite that he has no memories
As much as an emotional story this backstory has showed us. What also stood out significantly to me is how strong kuma is, in very convinced kuma was without a doubt around if not yonko level of strength

Well, we all know that Vegapunk got caught by York first before he was released and met Bonney outside of the memory chamber again. So there should be some time between them.
So what are the odds that the Sapphire sun that Bonney was given is somekind of distress beacon for Kuma? like if she feels a certain threshold of danger/despair it gives a signal to Kuma to come rescue her. Definetly feels like the type of thing Vegapunk could make pretty easily and that Kuma would request.
This chapter was a nuke of awesome things. But one thing I am loving is the as of yet confirmation that Kizaru fed Luffy, since he appears to have changed positions before and after Luffy got food. If it is true, then we finally have a proper descriptor of Unclear Justice. It was Unclear, like in broad, a scattered light that was not focused on any particular morality in doing his duties. It only becomes clear when those closest to Kizaru are affected, magnifying and honing his focus on how deep the World Gov't's shadows are when they are finally exposed to the light via Saturn. Also if Bonney hasn't technically eaten a Devil Fruit...could she eat Kuma's fruit if he dies and finally fulfill the prophecy of the Paw Paw Fruit joining the Straw Hats? Also also...think the BB Pirates have made landfall during this chaos? And perhaps have recruited Caribou and maybe even snagged York along with it?
Really glad we finally got a harder confirmation that Bonny's powers are unusual in some way, with some more defined rules. Before, it could either be that her power is imagination or accessing other realities or just that any part of her body can be individually modified to reflect some aspect of her potential. We still don't have a straight answer, but at least now it's not all assumptions. Also, *very* excited to see Kuma beat the hell out of Saturn.
Its extremely rare for me to physically react while reading manga. But I was out of my chair during that end sequence and damn near shouted out as Kuma winded up the punch and the chapter ended XD

When reading the part about how Saturn was involved with how Bonney got her hands on the Age Age Fruit, I now wonder if this could relate to how the Boa sisters got theirs, even though that could just be a coincidence.

I can only imagine the horror ginney felt knowing that she was going to be the concubine of the same piece of shit that was part of putting a target on her when she was a child and prob alot of unspeakable things that was done to her. The fact that she was able to say that they tossed her away when she was needed so casually and how she loved kuma shows how strong of a character she is. Saturn may not be Bonney's biological father since from Japanese ”後に聖地の者の第八夫人となった” to english translates to "later became the 8th wife of a person in the holy land". I would need to re-read the chapter but I'm almost certain the copy of Kuma's memories being touched by Bonney coincided with Kuma rushing towards egghead. When he was extracting the pain from the elderly in Sorbet he had to take the pain into himself because if he didn't it would go back to its source. I imagine the memory bubble may have the same conditions even if it's just a "copy". Kuma did say the bubble would disappear if it was touched, but he didn't what exactly would happen to the copy of the memories.
kuma got his memorys back just as bonnie touched the bubble, hed only ever touched a copied memory before, when he still had the original memorys. now that he dosn't have them.. the bubble returned.
I have a theory that in a really long past the gorosei were acctually 6, because of their names, I don't remember them exactly, but they represent the planets in the solar system: there's Mercury, Venus, (No Earth), Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, the one that's left is Uranus, because Imu could represent Neptune as Neptune is the god water and Imu backwards is Umi which is sea in japanese, and no earth would make sense, they could all be powerful warriors that came from another devastated planets and went to earth during the Void Century to find someone to join them.
Imu (イム) backwards is Mui (ムイ), not Umi (海 [ウミ]) because Japanese has 3 completely different alphabets that you are not used to. Uranus is most likely referring to the ancient weapon and we have two Neptunes, but that role is most likely filled by Shirahoshi (Poseidon). I hope this helped your theorycrafting.

Small theory/speculation: Maybe the father behind all this mess is actually Imu? Because remember from a few chapters ago, he told the Gorosei he wants Vivi, maybe she's going to be the 9th Lady of the Holy land? He wanted Vivi because of Lili. Vivi looks almost exactly like Lili, and Lili betrayed Imu. Even if you're going to assume an attraction there, it was much more than just a rejection. Knowing Imu as a character, even if he still had some feelings for Lili, the anger of betraying them (and assisting in stuff like the poneglyphs), would definitely have taken priority. I also dont think Imu is capable of anything involving a wife. I am 99% certain that if Ginny was anyone's wife, it was Saturn's. Saturn is basically a robotic immortal scientist, he is the type of person that would have children because they are free test subjects. Because any mortal is basically a liability anyway.
Saturn might actually be the father too, who just experiments on his children for whatever purpose then just dumps/kills them I found some various mythologies and folklore that might be inspiration in some way According to classical mythology: "Saturn is famously known for devouring his children to prevent them from overthrowing him, a prophecy he feared would come true. One thing I don't see anyone talking about is the bubble. If the bubble had his will and memories inside there's no way Bonny could have absorbed all of it, and it's been stated that if it's not fully absorbed it goes back into the original holder of whatever it was Kuma took out of them. That's my theory on how Kuma got his will back anyway
Feel like Bonney will get Kumas fruit. The explanation for bonney getting her powers was so specific that it seems like it would let us believe it's possible. Did we ever see her weakened in water? I remember seeing her frozen but never weakened.
Now Bonnie needs to join the crew. I dont care at what job she joins, but she has to join. And this is the first time seeing Saturn show any emotion besides the "I Control Everything" attitude. He is shocked to the point where his mind is a complete blank as to what's happening.
In South American history Buccan was a cooking method and people who sold meat cooked that way were called buccaneers. I think it ties into the buccaneers and joy boy history and now I think kuma brought luffy the meat.
To add to the Kizaru idea, the previous panel of him, he was laying down. Then Luffy starts eating and next you see he's sitting upright. I believe that Kizaru is under control of the Elder stars but still has his emotions. So he can still do things as long as they don't directly defy any specific order.

I really believe that Kizaru helped Luffy. Ever since during his fight with Luffy, Kizaru seemed a bit off from his own self (staring at the ocean while falling towards it), possibly starting to question his actions against his old friends. Hearing Luffy asking for food, he may reached the decision to give Luffy what he needed in order to save everyone that he cares for, while hoping that Saturn would be too focused on Bonney
I think its kizaru too, he is super fast and capable of making light clones. He doesn't want to do the deed himself because in his mind he could never stand against the WG becuase he is cog in the machine but luffy has no restraint.

To Bonney, I think Kuma was her Nika all along. It would explain why her distorted future form resembles his buff-ness, and it probably is why she became weakened after hearing Saturn proclaim definitively that her father was dead. Her idea of Nika wouldn't ever make the "connection to Strawhat's white form" because that's not who she truly pictures him to be.

I like this because I think everyone has the potential to be Nika in the story. Luffy and Kuma( and even Bonney for herself) are characters who accomplish reaching that state for others

I just realized we've seen something very similar to what's happening with Kuma here once before: Back on Thriller Bark, when Chopper fought Hogback. During that fight, the spirit of the real Victoria Cindry managed to assert control over her corpse and stop it from moving.

I now get to the thought that Kizaru might actually perceive the Freedom's Justice, but in the abscence of an Nika, the only way he saw was to attempt and change the WG from within. Tho he soon realized that it was impossible, having him degrade to an lethargic state and waking up now after having fought Luffy in his Gear 5 and seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel.
My theory that Kumas instinct to protect Bonney couldn't be removed is almost confirmed. Still possible Kuma is somehow still there, but the idea that he is the perfect weapon except for his fatherly instinct is imo the better bittersweet story.

I think Kizaru was the one that gave Luffy the food. The longing for his old friends and his silence after the eating panels plus the fact even York couldn’t move makes me believe it was him.
While Oda might pull the "it was an unseen guy" trick for whoever gave Luffy food, it would make a lot of sense to be Kizaru
In the 3rd panel after Luffy is begging for food, Kizaru is seen laying down with his arms splayed out, thinking of Sentomaru and Bonney
And the next time we see him, it's the 3rd panel after we see Luffy eating from Saturn's perspective, and he's now sitting against an upturned rock- upturned in a way you'd see from a powerful impact
Also in the first panel he's laying down on rubble, while in the second he's sitting on much larger unbroken tiles, so it doesn't feel like it's the same location
Like, unless Kizaru just decided to sit up to... watch Bonney get her head blown off by Saturn? and the rubble we see in panel 1 is what he's now sitting on, it makes way too much sense for it to be the guy who can move at the speed of light and is also intimately familiar with the people who are about to be exploded
Plus Kizaru was always laid back and just did whatever people told him to, so it wouldn't be surprising if he decided to betray the marines by realizing "man, working for these assholes kind of made me an asshole, huh?"
Saturn specified that they did not give her the fruit to eat, but rather used some method to extract the fruit's power and transferred it to her. Perhaps this caused the powers to go dormant until she was older, which explains why she never used them before and didn't feel the effects of the water.
That's how I read it too. He seemed interested that she had abilities, like when she was a baby she initially didn't have any abilities.
Now that u say she didn't eat a fruit I got a theory no basis just a theory.
What if Bony could still eat a devil fruit since she doesn't have one(technically). Kuma dies. Paw paw fruit reappears on Nami's tangerines. Bonny eats devil fruit. Bonny joins the crew. The numbers theory is complete.

What I love about this is that Kuma's current form is absolutely a monster of Saturn's own creation, and it has come back to bite him
On the subject of Bonney getting bathed by Kuma
The panel you mentioned in chapter 1098 shows Kuma bathing Bonney by pouring water on her rather then dipping her in water.
SBS 41 is what told us that devil fruit users are vulnerable to not just seawater, but all forms of STANDING water, but not stuff like dripping water, rain, or showers and I'd argue that pouring water on someone like Kuma is shown doing would count as the later.

I think the part about extraction infusion could be why weapons are allowed to have Devil Fruit powers. But more importantly this chapter has me wondering if Kuma has somehow secretly been conscious the entire time that everyone thought he was dead, and he was just quietly enduring the torture he was put through for the sake of his own goals.
I think it was Kizaru who helped feed Luffy. He showed concern for Bonney with his reaction in his mental bubble, his position is different when the scene shows him again, and when Saturn asks who fed Luffy, his reaction is just “…”.
His powers could have easily let him get food to Luffy. Keep in mind he can actually manipulate half of his body independent from the other, as we saw on Sabaody. He could have easily made his lower half activate one of the vending machines, and kicked the food over to Luffy, while still appearing to be down (or just moved at light speed to do it).
I don't think it was kizaru, he has to transform into light and can only travel in a straight line. His fruit power is too flashy. I think kizaru saw who did it and decided not to say anything as his first official act of disloyalty to the government.

I feel pretty strongly that it was kizaru who gave Luffy the food. He’s been pushed time and time again in this arc to hurt people that are clearly important to him, and he’s also fast enough to zip off and bring back food. You also see him starting to sit up here. I think that he always tried to distance himself from attachments because of his work but right now he’s having to fight against all the people he’s close with at the behest of someone who is showing just how evil they are.

The paralles between the Kuma Punch and the luffy punch is amazing. Kuma is maybe the most important non-strawhat/family member of luffy in his journey to become Nika. It's one of those chapters the more you think about it the more implications one can find. As usual, you did a fantastic job at explaining everything.
Given that the paw-paw fruit allows Kuma to push out things like pain and memories, I imagine that the key to defeating Saturn would be to somehow remove/push Saturn`s own immortality from his body and reveal his true age and appearance.
If anything else, Saturn being struck by a enraged Kuma is not just going to leave the elder with serious wounds he likely won`t be able to regenerate from, he might actually start to panic as his own immortality is threatened by the last living buccaneer

Bonney’s childlike belief in Nika being a reflection of her love for her father explains why her distorted future looks like a Buccaneer body rather than the stretchy strawhat captain. But once she does make the G5 Nika connection, maybe that will revitalize the strength of her fruit as well

Kuma using Armament Haki to punch Saturn which means there is still humanity and will within him somewhere even after being stripped by the final operation.
I'd say it's like a fatherly instinct since Kuma is still a cyborg albeit without a consiousness. Same thing with the Seraphim and mecha-seabeast having inherent instinct still left.
@@VVabsayou forget one thing in the egghead arc, Vegapunk learns memories/emotions can be contained in a lineage factor. Meaning its very possible he didnt fully delete kuma as there were parts he didnt know were relevant.

I actually didn't believe Saint Shiturd when he told Bonney that he was the one who gave her the devil fruit powers, coz Bonney's powers was a secret that cp 8 and Alpha had no knowledge of. I interpreted it as Saint Shiturd discouraging Bonney on using her power's full potential. As one of the elder stars he knows more about devil fruits than anyone, like with Luffy's fruit.
Its possible he did it alone so the cp8 wouldn't know And sapphire scales was a byproduct by him but that's just a theory

I can only think of 2 ways on how Luffy could've gotten his hands on those foods. I was because the spirit of Nika manifested those foods before Luffy could be fully aware on what just happened, or someone gave it to him without anyone knowing it?
I do think that Kuma probably came to defend Bonnie because of the charm that Vegapunk gave her. I just find it weird how Vegapunk called it a “protective charm” although this could’ve just been a weird translation.

There is something the community is missing, first, remember early in the arc where CP0 was returning S-Bear to Vegapunk and it Lucci said it was a defective model. I wonder if S-Bear becomes Kuma’s new vessel or his “son”. Second, Kuma was under some repairs via revolutionaries and then he teleported. They probably removed the bomb Kuma had possibly due to Vegapunk telling Dragon. Lastly Akainu attacked Kuma with magma and Kuma is still in tact. This tells me Kuma is still alive somewhat and is able to use Haki. What do you guys think?

I feel like Kuma's situation is more so "soul puppeteering a corpse" than the regular "bodycwith a soul", meaning Kuma is clingng to the last bodly anchors to Earth so he can protect body and do one final revolutionary stand. Whateber his soul will leave once his body is destroyed, or it will pass to another vessel to continue battle, i dont know, but i am certain that Kuma will not make it

Two things in this chapter stood out to me:
- First, it's really awesome that Kuma is using Haki in what might be his last punch. There's enough of Kuma in his broken body that wants to protect his daughter.
- Second, I wonder if the reason why Kuma had come back in the first place is because the revolutionary army was fiddling around with Kuma's internals, triggering / removing some limiter that "woke up" Kuma.
Its interesting seeing Kizaru sitting up as it shows he’s recovering. So the question why isn’t he participating in the fight, is he having a change of heart after learning the truth about Elder stars?
I thought it might’ve been Atlas who gave Luffy the food as for a brief moment Santurn’s powers weren’t working giving her an opportunity to sneak food to Luffy. She did comment about not being able to give him food
The Marines are the Marines amd the world's security is their only interest , to them the Givernment only happens to be slightly above them nothing more.Unfortunately the authority of the 5 Elders forces them to act in accordance with.Kuma was a Rev but along with Vegapunk they also placed their trust in the Navy , Kuma was even a part of the special Marine task force with Kizaru and Sentomaru.Someone like Kuma wouldn't really fit into being a pirate when you think about it.What's more while Kuma is rushing towards Saturn he doesn't hit any of the Marines shooting at him , probably he has an idea of what's happening , knows that were he in their place he'd do the same under Saturn's authority so he doesn't blame them for it.That's the lad Kuma is.
One thing to note, that a lot of people seem to have missed - when Kuma lands he immediatelly says "30...". I believe he probably has already activated self-destruct mode and has less than 30 seconds left.
Plus I do believe it's Caribou who delivered food to Luffy (again) and Kizaru just saw everything, but chose to ignore him and that's the reason for "..." near Kizaru.

This backs a theory conversation I saw a while back on one of your videos. It was going on about the Blackbeard pirates using daggers that are capable of stealing/using df. Someone had noticed a stoke of some sort on the handle. This chapter definitely backs that idea
The food is from Mary Geoise when Kuma hit the food supply of the celestials dragons in chapter 1092 before he popped off to Egghead. Then when he lands, Kuma realized, where Luffy is so he can direct the food before he pops in to fight Saint Saturn. As he seen Luffy and has seen him eating to gain his strength even if we don't actually sees it in flashbacks.
It seems like Kuma went full berserk as soon as Vegapunk found out that Saturn "broke" his part of the deal
This chapter is one of those that's gonna need a reread through after the official translations are out, but from what I understood of Saturn's words, Bonney "drank an extract" of the devil fruit, which made me instantly remember the medicine the world government was giving her during those years she was being "cured" in the church. And about the "8th wife of the holy land" thing, I think Ginny might've been Imu's wife, which is just as scary, if not scarier than her being Saturn's wife, also this would kind of explain what is it that Imu wants with Vivi, which makes me fear what Oda has in store for her.
I thought about the 8th wife refering to Imu's as well but I haven0t thought about Vivi and the implication it can potentially have. Please dont make Vivi suffer even more ☠

I think Kizaru giving Luffy food is the only way to make that plot point mean anything. We just saw the big flashback, we saw him on the ground feeling bad for Bonney and Sentomaru (why else even show Sentomaru being captured again this chapter?) And he saw a potential way to help. He's the only one fast enough to help out like this and not be held down by whatever aura Saturn is emitting. Yeah I guess it could be Swamp-boy but that really means and says nothing on top of being a extremely direct Wano repeat.

As much as an emotional story this backstory has showed us. What also stood out significantly to me is how strong kuma is, in very convinced kuma was without a doubt around if not yonko level of strength

Well, we all know that Vegapunk got caught by York first before he was released and met Bonney outside of the memory chamber again. So there should be some time between them.
So what are the odds that the Sapphire sun that Bonney was given is somekind of distress beacon for Kuma? like if she feels a certain threshold of danger/despair it gives a signal to Kuma to come rescue her. Definetly feels like the type of thing Vegapunk could make pretty easily and that Kuma would request.
This chapter was a nuke of awesome things.
But one thing I am loving is the as of yet confirmation that Kizaru fed Luffy, since he appears to have changed positions before and after Luffy got food. If it is true, then we finally have a proper descriptor of Unclear Justice. It was Unclear, like in broad, a scattered light that was not focused on any particular morality in doing his duties. It only becomes clear when those closest to Kizaru are affected, magnifying and honing his focus on how deep the World Gov't's shadows are when they are finally exposed to the light via Saturn.
Also if Bonney hasn't technically eaten a Devil Fruit...could she eat Kuma's fruit if he dies and finally fulfill the prophecy of the Paw Paw Fruit joining the Straw Hats?
Also also...think the BB Pirates have made landfall during this chaos? And perhaps have recruited Caribou and maybe even snagged York along with it?
Really glad we finally got a harder confirmation that Bonny's powers are unusual in some way, with some more defined rules. Before, it could either be that her power is imagination or accessing other realities or just that any part of her body can be individually modified to reflect some aspect of her potential. We still don't have a straight answer, but at least now it's not all assumptions. Also, *very* excited to see Kuma beat the hell out of Saturn.
Kuma's story is hands down the best in all of One Piece ❤️

There is one person sneaky enough and knowledgeable enough of Luffy to bring him food, and that's someone we've all forgotten about: Caribou.
Its extremely rare for me to physically react while reading manga. But I was out of my chair during that end sequence and damn near shouted out as Kuma winded up the punch and the chapter ended XD

Saturn may not be Bonney's biological father since from Japanese ”後に聖地の者の第八夫人となった” to english translates to "later became the 8th wife of a person in the holy land". It appears Saturn is not referring to himself in both Japanese and direct English translations.

I would need to re-read the chapter but I'm almost certain the copy of Kuma's memories being touched by Bonney coincided with Kuma rushing towards egghead. When he was extracting the pain from the elderly in Sorbet he had to take the pain into himself because if he didn't it would go back to its source. I imagine the memory bubble may have the same conditions even if it's just a "copy". Kuma did say the bubble would disappear if it was touched, but he didn't what exactly would happen to the copy of the memories.

kuma got his memorys back just as bonnie touched the bubble, hed only ever touched a copied memory before, when he still had the original memorys. now that he dosn't have them.. the bubble returned.
I have a theory that in a really long past the gorosei were acctually 6, because of their names, I don't remember them exactly, but they represent the planets in the solar system: there's Mercury, Venus, (No Earth), Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, the one that's left is Uranus, because Imu could represent Neptune as Neptune is the god water and Imu backwards is Umi which is sea in japanese, and no earth would make sense, they could all be powerful warriors that came from another devastated planets and went to earth during the Void Century to find someone to join them.
Imu (イム) backwards is Mui (ムイ), not Umi (海 [ウミ]) because Japanese has 3 completely different alphabets that you are not used to. Uranus is most likely referring to the ancient weapon and we have two Neptunes, but that role is most likely filled by Shirahoshi (Poseidon). I hope this helped your theorycrafting.

Because Imu definitely has the curse/disease himself from the immortality deal, and it's fully developed since he's always in a room and covers himself in dark clothing from the sun. Maybe that's why he fears the sun god so much

He wanted Vivi because of Lili. Vivi looks almost exactly like Lili, and Lili betrayed Imu. Even if you're going to assume an attraction there, it was much more than just a rejection.
Knowing Imu as a character, even if he still had some feelings for Lili, the anger of betraying them (and assisting in stuff like the poneglyphs), would definitely have taken priority. I also dont think Imu is capable of anything involving a wife. I am 99% certain that if Ginny was anyone's wife, it was Saturn's. Saturn is basically a robotic immortal scientist, he is the type of person that would have children because they are free test subjects. Because any mortal is basically a liability anyway.

One thing I don't see anyone talking about is the bubble. If the bubble had his will and memories inside there's no way Bonny could have absorbed all of it, and it's been stated that if it's not fully absorbed it goes back into the original holder of whatever it was Kuma took out of them. That's my theory on how Kuma got his will back anyway
Feel like Bonney will get Kumas fruit. The explanation for bonney getting her powers was so specific that it seems like it would let us believe it's possible. Did we ever see her weakened in water? I remember seeing her frozen but never weakened.

Now Bonnie needs to join the crew. I dont care at what job she joins, but she has to join. And this is the first time seeing Saturn show any emotion besides the "I Control Everything" attitude. He is shocked to the point where his mind is a complete blank as to what's happening.
In South American history Buccan was a cooking method and people who sold meat cooked that way were called buccaneers. I think it ties into the buccaneers and joy boy history and now I think kuma brought luffy the meat.
To add to the Kizaru idea, the previous panel of him, he was laying down. Then Luffy starts eating and next you see he's sitting upright.
I believe that Kizaru is under control of the Elder stars but still has his emotions. So he can still do things as long as they don't directly defy any specific order.

The panel of Bonney trying and failing to age Saturn is very interesting. This might be extra supporting evidence that the Elder Stars either don't age, age veeery slowly or are straight up immortal.
