  • Roc2c is a worldwide operation specialized in the concept, design and deployment of beautiful cobblestone pavements known as "Calçada à Portuguesa", made of natural stone extracted from our private quarries.
    Process Description
    Roc2c has several teams of extraction, transformation and application of natural stone. It also includes a team of designers and architects responsible for customizing each project.
    In any of our project, our main goal and focus, is to make a high quality lifetime pavement and also the total customer satisfaction.
    The process is the one used for many years, based in traditional techniques, and using only high quality cobblestone, so our work can be perfect.
    - Our Master Pavers team with more than 15 years experience in portuguese pavement;
    - Our Stone quarry or qualified and certified suppliers;
    - Traditional paving techniques and methods, mixing different types of cobblestone;
    - Portuguese cobblestone paving is a lifetime pavement, only made by artisans, art and knowledge passed from generation to generation.

    This is fantastic. Not goofy looking cement blocks from Home Depot. This will last a lifetime. I myself replaced my driveway with cobblestones and Belgian blocks that I collected from the streets of L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Kansas City and Philly. I always get compliments from neighbors and strangers. If you want to give your home that extra kick, be it a Craftsman, Mission, Spanish, Italianate, Storybook, or whatever, you gotta have a cobblestone driveway or walk. I myself prefer the worn look of 150-100 year old street cobbles, but fresh cut will do as well. Stay away from New York City cobbles, they are always covered with old asphalt. Keep up the good work, Roc2c. You make the world a more beautiful place.

Thank you for showing us how Cobblestone roads and paths are made. We take so much for granted these days, without realising how much effort goes into the production of.. well, everything!

    the making of the cobbles only needed 30 seconds by 1:38 it was enough how do you not go insane with the sound of breaking stone and how hard it would be day after day. how small it is makes it such hard work even if looking simple enough.

    Altiplano indians were laying their roads (vias/calzadas) thousand yrs before the Portuguese arrived...the Portuguese probably learned fm the romans....

    • @chaoswarriorbr
      @chaoswarriorbr 7 років тому +1

      Most civilizations that become a bit more centralized building cities and expanding had to develop paved roads to maintain the movement of goods, people and troops and keep it's coherence, the limitations to that usually are defined by necessity, materials and terrain. The portuguese are the "modern romans", so is the spaniards, italians and even the french. The cultural origin and most of the bloodline is a mix of celtic culture civilizations and the "roman-mix" and Visigoths, plus the other populations that left some influence, like the semitics in the times of the muslim invasions and Caliphates, then the Franks and Normans(descendents of norsemen, vulgarly known as Vikings) that helped in the "Reconquista". Roman roads are the best paved roads of human history, some still survive to this day!
