There was an egg fest in Texas? Grill day is indeed fun day! Take care Mike. I really like the fact that there are lot's of attachments for these grills.
I bought a first gen classic back in 2015 and I absolutely love it. KJ had been very good to replace side shelves when they wore out along with the firebox when it cracked over time. It’s such a versatile smoker and I’ve cooked so much on it. I think u will love it. And u have some big name channels commenting on yours. Impressive.
I have 3 BGE's but I am impressed by the KJs every time I see them.... except for that multi piece fire ring, haha. Love all those accessories that are included tho!
Hey Mike, congratulations on your KJ. One of the people that sent a congrats to you (Smoking Dad BBQ) has a great UA-cam channel for KJ grilling. Also, for future reference if you ever take apart the KJ firebox again, the best way to line it up is to put rolled out paper towel balls behind it and as you start your fire it'll burn off from the fire. Smoking Dad BBQ taught me that.
I like the idea, to some degree, of focusing on ONE grill. I do, however, enjoy having a variety of stuff. I just think it's important to be the master of everything you have. I am actually surprised to see that they still include the ash tool with these grills...
Im curios why classic over the 3 series. Whats under the tarp, those dont look like Shirley running gear under the tarp. Do you still have the Shirley. I always wanted to try stick burner, but I not sure if I have the stamina to throw split on fire for 12hrs.
It came down to price. Also I’m thinking if I really like this style of cooker I’ll eventually get a Big Joe 3. The Shirley is gone. Just didn’t have the time for it.
Congratulations, buddy!
Thank you sir!

Yeah before Thanksgiving in Dallas. It wasn’t a big one but still a blast.
Love that Joe!

Yeah this was a long time coming for me. I’m excited to get to using it and the support on this video has been awesome!
Congrats on your new KJ
I appreciate you watching and I enjoy your channel!

Hard to piece together but that was a selling point for me as I didn’t want to deal with a cracked firebox.
@@mikebowerstv Oh I guess it wouldn't crack if its already in pieces. I've not cracked any of mine so I never considered that.

Yes I saw that video and watch his channel along with Bartlow BBQ. Excellent content for sure!

I’ll still always have a pellet grill for poultry and an WSM for large cooks.
