OUDE KWAREMONT (Ronde van Vlaanderen 2024!)

With the spring classics that are coming up soon, I wanted to share my own experience with cycling the cobbles in Flanders. And I can tell you, it's brutal 😱
This video is a timelapse of the most challenging and epic climbs of Flanders: De Oude Kwaremont. It's often been the decisive climb in the Tour of Flanders & only the strongest riders can make a difference here. Oude Kwaremont stands out as an iconic climbs with loads of cycling history.
Last year I got the chance to ride it and I wanted to share my experience riding this climb. The cobbles are extremely tough to ride on and they're a real experience on their own. At first, I greatly underestimated them which soon enough came back at me. Despite the harsh confrontation with the excruciating road surface, it turned out to be a fascinating scene. It also sheds some light as to how tough the pro cyclists have to be to even have a chance at winning De Ronde!
I certainly recommend people having a go at this climb and experience it for yourself, as you'll find out how challenging this sort of climb is!
