It’s sooooo stress free & relaxing having short natural hair!!! I did the big chop back in May of 2019 & Lord knows I refuse to grow mine out past the length yours is now. I love my tapered sides & my crown being long enough to coil or sponge! Short hair is sexy & liberating to me, but that’s just my opinion 😉. I love your hair too

I'd had long hair all my life and I chopped it all off August of last year. I was a new mom with a 7 month old, it was summer, i didn't have time to take care of my hair so i contemplated it for like 3 months and then I finally got rid of it.
It was cool at first because it was easy to style and maintenance but like a month later i was so shocked and self-conscious. Even now that it's a little longer i'm still adjusting but the initial shock was so sobering. Realizing how all the other parts of you shine beyond your hair is REALLY what helps you get acclimated.

I cut my hair on March 13th and I instantly wanted to go shorter, it’s so freeing and I can’t wait until it grows out as healthy as possible! 🙌🏾
I love this! I just shaved mine off & I’m waiting until the morning to get my uncle to clean it up!! My mom is literally like “wtf” but it feels good to do something for yourself and not be tied down to a hair style!

Everything you are saying in this video is spot on. I did my big chop and color in 2016 (the night before graduating university)! When I walked into my house around 11 p.m all mouths were on the floor! I don’t retreat it one bit. Having short hair teaches you a lot about yourself. The level of confidence you have to have I can’t even put into words. Not to mention if you have weight on you and high cheek bones like myself it’s harder to rock. I’ve always wanted to do a video on this. Listen if you cut your hair again it’s okay! That’s the beauty of life. Embrace your journey girl! Love Love Love the video btw.

I cut my hair back in 2017 summer braided it up it grew back mid collarbone length by 2020 I permed it to make it more easy to manage it but it fell out and just was where I started in 2017 I was so upset 2 days ago I cut and shaved it and I never felt more free nothing like new beginnings!! I’m all here for the short hair tbh don’t really know if I want it all long and stuff it’s so much easier to manage short and my curls are so fire 💕🥺!

your absolutely correct. because when I first big chop it had me a little nervous or insecure until I realized how amazing natural hair is and learning your natural texture makes the journey a lot more fun. all of my life I had relaxed hair and never knew what I had until I big chopped.

I big chopped about 5 years ago (August 2017) and tbh I loved my short hair I didn't shave it off but I cut off all the perm. In all honesty I just don't have the energy to mess with my hair anymore and I love short hair its so pretty and freeing

I am gonna cut mine soon. No transitioning; by the time i do all that, I could’ve cut it and just had it growing faster months ago. I have tried long hair. Off and on For years. I always look better with it shorter. Can’t WAIT to taper cut it, shave those sides down and just let that top grow. I know people hate when you say it, but “it’s just hair.” It’ll grow back. For me the more I cut it, the faster it grows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I loved my long hair growing up but after big chopping and shaving my head 5-6 times after growing it back out..on top of getting older, long hair wasnt a big deal to me..yes I love big fros but im more quick to chop it than gros it all the way back out.

When my hair was in the twa stage I used Aunt Jackie’s Don’t Shrink gel to finger coil for my wash and go’s. The style lasted about 2 weeks and made life super easy. Definitely contributed to my hair growth.
