I am a 72 year old white southern grandma and I have absolutely nothing in common with you. When you came up on my feed I decided to watch when I saw a reference to you passing the bar. I have a son who is an attorney and I will never forget how he reacted to that big notification. I am about 20 minutes into watching and I really like you. I am going to subscribe and follow you on your journey with all of the new things that you are going to experience in the next journey.
I just turned 71 and I happen on this as well. Congratulations. I’m developing a UA-cam channel just to share how good life is. I hope others will enjoy it. I just subscribed as well.
First attorney in my very black north philly family and it is indeed a WILD ride. Congrats Counselor, and welcome to the world of practice, you deserve this.
you literally unlocked a childhood memory for me too! I am south african, grew up in a multicultural neighbourhood and that song reminds me of that 🥹 love seeing black girlies thriving, congratulations 🎉
It’s crazy because I’m Haitian-American 🇭🇹 and grew up on this same song as well! The world is big but it’s also really small sometimes when you think about how people in different places have shared experiences. Congrats on the bar and good luck in NYC! ♥️
24:26 The song is “Se Pa Pou Dat” by Alan Cavé. It is a Haitian Konpa song. 🇭🇹 Shout out to my Zoes 🇭🇹 Im thrilled that you found the song! Its a classic in my culture. I hope you dive into the genre more!
That’s so weird for me to hear that song in a vlog in New York. I’m a reunionaise (living in Reunion Island) and this song is one those that we listen and party on! It’s Haitian and not from our culture but at this stage it’s part of us, dance on this in every family events, night clubs, bars, when it’s clean up day! There’s something about being born an island human that somehow brought us all together… We’re multicultural with a strong story behind us… BREF, lol excuse my french, english is not out first language!
Welcome to the 2% of the 5%! I know a lot of people don't seem to think that non-first gen people "get it" but as a Black American woman whose grandparents and parents couldn't attend the same schools I could by law, I can say the fact that any of us have made it into this tiny club is a miracle. I wish the UBE was a thing when I took the NY bar. Shout out to the third department 😂
In case chapters don't work! 00:00 - Intro 00:20 - Bar Results 01:09 - Move in Day 1 (living my dream, empty apartment, movers, bathroom unpacking) 22:04 - Move in Day 2 (finding lost memories in Harlem, Kitchen + closet unpacking) 33:25 - Move in Day 3 (bedroom unpacking, try on workwear haul, my dream bathrobe, bathroom updates) 57:04 - Move in Day 4 (grocery shopping saga, PR, some finishing touches) 1:04:55 - Move in Day 5 (finishing my closet, self-care in Harlem, preparing for my hair appointment) 1:09:33 - Move in Day 6 (first rainy day in NYC, getting a middle part buss down, a chat on living my vision board)
