Great video Hugo! You are absolutely right when you talk about the effect that a green (marble) base will do on a yellow model! And if there is a bit of blue here and there on said model the effect is bigger I think. I used a green marble base for my Iyanden Wraithknight and it went very well with that big, bulky, yellow and blue guy :D
Nice tutorial. It is a bit different from the way I do it, so I will give it a bash. Congrats on your recent achievements in the Land of the Rising Sun!
Hi Hugo! I have one question, what color of the marble would you use for green salamanders mini (I want to make marble base for help for heroes salamanders sergeant that I'm painting)? And what color of paints you would use (as a base color and line colors)?? I will be grateful for answer:) Cheers!
Great vid Hugo, though one quick question... would this work on creating a White Marble effect? As I want to do the eagles head on the base for Horus from Forgeworld and ofcourse its a miniature I certainly dont want to ruin
Holy shit me too, it probably would work though, if you mixed a tiny bit of dawnstone with ulthuan grey for the dark shade, and used celestra grey for the light shade, and veined it with white scar or different shades of black if you're going for a Carrara marble
Man, I wonder how well this would turn out on a non flat surface. With my kingdom death order coming sometime in the near future, I think something like this would look pretty sick on those bases where the floor is comprised of faces.
Im glad to have found a tutorial with someone using brushes instead of air brush. thanks for posting this
my god, I've been looking for a good marble tutorial for some statues I'm doing! Thank you for posting!
