- By now, most people know that the I AM ATHLETE cast of Brandon Marshall, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder are no longer together and have gone their separate ways. We recently sat down with Brandon Marshall, and he gave his take on the split in this clip. Channing Crowder explains his take on the matter.

The issue is that Fred didnt come with the money when it was high risk. He then tried to put money in after the risk was lower and the value was higher. He tried to put in cash on the lower valuation. Most workers will never understand the boss side of things. While Fred is SUPPOSEDLY waiting on financial he is doing zero behind the scenes administrative stuff while Brandon is doing all the boss sh. Hey below average people. Things change as a business grows. It's that simple. Fred could've put the administrative and money in contingent on a certain valuation. Then put in more or less when they finally got the financials and projections.

So they didn’t wanna be a part of the initial start up but once it took off they wanted to help pay back the investments and then dictate which lane to go in. I think if you’re given an opportunity to be coowner/partner and you opt to be a worker instead,then you put yourself on that side of the business. Just my opinions

On other occasions they've all admitted, including Brandon that Fred tried to get the paperwork from Brandon to invest but he didn't provide it for over a year. He wanted them to invest after he spent more money on his brand and not just the Podcast.

@albertdaley9093 that's not true. He wouldn't show them the paper work for over a year. He had made investments in his brand and then showed them the numbers. Everyone involved admitted to this. You can't include your outside ventures that only you benefit from. There were other issues with his expectations but he didn't show the paperwork for over a year.

This is sad! Both sides can tell y’all that they ain’t know what it was gonna be so there was no investment. Instead, y’all make up in your own heads that there was an initial investment by BM even though he NEVER SAID IT. Please for the love of God, don’t say his investment was lights, cameras, and a production team. He knew as well as anyone else that wants to start a lucrative business that there was gonna be start up cost. Everyone and they mama gotta pay for the basics in order to get off the ground. Now a year is more than enough time to accumulate data and funds to see how lucrative the podcast really is and can be in the future. So it is not a bad idea for ALL PARTIES INVOLVED to look at the paperwork and come up with a gameplan of how the money is split and what is the income/expenses. They are homies starting something new so that should be expected. Selective hearing is just as bad as crack and most of y’all is on it 🤦🏾♂️

Yes he funded it initially but that was his choice and originally the agreement was they would split it after season one. I can tell you what happened.. he saw the traction and money coming in.. he no longer invested.. he used the money from media to fund everything. And when they asked about the books he no longer wanted the original deal. It didn’t take millions to film because they already owned the equipment from beginning.. what he did was incorporate his other businesses under umbrella and tried to make them invest into that which wasn’t the agreement. It was supposed to be podcast only.. he originally said they were partners but once he saw the money .. he then said fck that deal and said he the boss now lol .. yes he originally put up money but that was his choice.. but their on air talent was investment too .. remember no one got paid first season.. the show made waves because of talent and the initial investment. But part of being partners is being honest and straightforward.. im in media space and know those numbers are either for gyms he owns or made up because production is nowhere near that including food and travel

Brandon merged his gym which was already under 10mil with the podcast and wanted the proceedes of the podcast to makeup the loss of the gym and they didn't agree with it. They also didn't agree with the Nascar series so they left

I’m confused was the investment in the podcast or IAA the brand? Podcasts investment shouldn’t be at 1 million dollars anybody can start up a podcast I was thinking the investment was for the whole IAA brand like the training facilities etc. I think that was the disconnect between all parties and with no paperwork that’s what made things messy.
@ericw7519 they initially started with just the podcast but brandon wanted to grow and promote his business and eventually combined the gym which was under 10mil with the podcast and fred wanted equity instead of per episode so when he didn't like where it was going and wanted his part out, Brandon and him didn't agree on a number
