Billionaires yank their funding of privatized higher education to dictate the political outcomes and perspectives of institutions that should determine outcomes/perspectives not by what certain billionaires think, but by rigorous debate and scholarly investigation. No point of view should be banned or stigmatized. That is antithetical to education. Rather, every point of view should be ruthlessly interrogated. The advocates of every point of view must defend their position with facts and data and should be repudiated if they cannot. But billionaires who are too intellectually feeble to argue their position instead leverage their wealth and power to squelch debate and thinking. Any institution addicted to profit, power and wealth is unable to challenge power and therefore cannot be an educational institution governed by the pursuit of knowledge and truth.

In 1995 Yitzhak Rabin was prime minister of Israel. He was assassinated by a member of a right wing faction of a political party that the current Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was a member of. This occurred shortly after the Oslo accords in which a pathway for peace, was formed, with the recognition of a two state solution. Two days after a rally at which, Netanyahu made several inflamatory statements against Rabin's government, before he was assassinated. Many people in Israel to this day believe that Netanyahu was complicit in that assassination. In the last election Netanyahu gained power by a very small majority. On 21 November 2019, Netanyahu was officially indicted for breach of trust, accepting bribes, and fraud, leading him to legally relinquish his ministry portfolios other than prime minister. As of April 1st of this year the trial was still ongoing. Because of censorship this item has been delected the last several times I posted it. It is not an antisemetic statement.
