It is Your forever home You can do what ever You want!
That's right!
You already know I think you're a genius with inventions/gadgets and "over doing" projects. The "back up" plan for plumbing....I swear you are my brother from another mother.....when I backpacked part of the AT (mind you, solo) I brought "back up" for dang near everything....liked to kill me humping the extra weight, but peace of mind was worth it. God bless y'all!
Lol sometimes you can do too much, I'm guilty of that.
I absolutely love your thumbnail. Not only do not like to plug your tools in but you don’t like to read your instructions on your new tools lol 😆 😂 Yes some might thing your crazy but that is why I love watching your channel. God bless
Glad you enjoy it! God bless
Good vid Andrew. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing; I always fight those urges back to, until I find a middle ground. I'm glad you keep up the talking. It helps me understand more exactly what you're doing along with your thought processes, and is the best way to answer questions.
Thank you for watching
You have thought of everything. I am so glad I am watching you. When I build I will know more
Glad you are enjoying it
Hi, Andrew! You are NOT an idiot and are you NOT crazy. You are very smart and thorough. Continue with your wise decisions. FUTURE PROOF. I love it!!!! I am in your corner. See y’all tomorrow.
See you then!
The sheetrockers were going to
Rock 6 to 7 am I woke up at 3 am
With the idea of installing 2 light switches in a. 17 foot hallway. For
Convenience 36 years later I'm
So glad I woke up at 3 am!
The house is looking awesome. 🤠
Well, we know you're crazy, but also smart. See, balances out. 😁 Looking great Andrew!
Why thank you!
I have the same one, Dewalt. Just figured out last Wednesday the same exact thing. Night and day difference. Lol
Nice to know I'm not the only one 🤣
Chris it's our communication device talking Thur the water pipes lol 😆
running a backup and marking it to where you know exactly where it is is very smart, but you're a pretty sharp guy dude!
Thank you for watching.... I like backups
Hilarious. We've all done it at one time or another. No one's reads the info they send with the tools! 😆
probably a lil late; add an access panel to the main pex water inlet then you really don't have to cut drywall there. great work!
Hello from Minnesota
Hello Katie, thanks for watching.
Good insurance!
Hey friends, Pastor Fred here. Thank you for showing your "mistakes" or unknowns. Makes those of us that know even less feel like it is ok to not know and still get things done. Example: your 3 speed tool, I have never held one, so I wouldn't have known. Thanks again, have a great day! Hope I get to watch live tomorrow...
We are all human and can relate! Thanks for watching
Hi Andrew good afternoon, you are always surprising us, but we love it. Sometimes disappoinment always work out in our favor 🇯🇲🇯🇲🙏🙏
💖💖
My goodness you are really moving along:) looking great:) tfs stay safe:)
Thank you for watching!
Hello Andrew 😊 You are making excellent use of the spray foam delay. It's good that you have lived on the property long enough to know what you want for your house and you make very smart decisions. See you, Tiffany and Bullet on the Live Stream 👍👍
Funny thing as I was making this video....... The spray foam company showed up early and caught me off guard 😳
Glad you had extra time to get things buttoned up inside before spray foam. It will make your life a little more at ease. Looking great and things are coming together quickly. God Bless
Thank you for watching, God bless
Hi Andrew I like the way you think!! You might as well do what ever you can while you can, taking advantage of building your own house. You got some really good ideas, I like the way you think. Take care 🇨🇦
Thank you
From my experience...cvpvc gets brittle over time out in the elements....think you are fine man...and its great to think of future problems....south Louisiana here ..so know all about them hot summers😁...great content man and make sure your spray roamers cover your outlet boxes with tape and anything else you want to keep clean.
Exactly. CPVC is fine when it goes in and will pretty much last forever. But if you have to work with it after it's set for 25-30 years it's pretty brittle. The extra pex lines are a great idea, but document them well because they'll be needed by your kids or grandkids after they get the house. Great job overall!! Looks great!
All of that extra plumbing is called "Cheep Insurance".
Man you gave me a good laugh on this one. When you was scratching your beard & said you want to know something ? Andrew !!!!! How could you been working Your tool in first gear all the time you owned ? " LOL " brother you know I just got to give you a hard time about that. I know it happened to the best of us. I been in the trucking 🚛 industry almost 50 years now and I'm still learning something new to this day. But I like your ideal you have plans. I can't wait to see the house finish. You're definitely going to have a nice house for entertaining outside. Thank you for the good laugh .You take it easy buddy.
Thank you for watching, take care!
LOL You might install another electrical system as well and another 100 outlets, a fan for each guest outside... No, no and no, never overdoing:)))))
Lol I can't add anything else, Spray foam just happened! 😳
Yeah! Us men don't read instructions. We just open up the box and start playing with our toys.😝
Sure do!
Hey Andrew! If you install your PEX and actually hook it up a certain way, you can create a natural circulation loop to where you can have INSTANT hot water at even your furthest outlet from the water heater! This is often done up north because lines aren't run in the slab. Anyway, it would probably cost a little more in heating costs but if you want instant hot water and don't want to wait 2 minutes for your shower water to get hot (I live in FL too with lines in the slab) do some Google searches on this! Heck, if you're running it anyway I figured you might be interested to know it won't be that much harder to hook up a few of the connections and have instant hot water everywhere :)
Heck my last home and my parents both only required about 20 seconds for hot water with outside water heaters. I usually turn the sink on while I'm getting undressed for the shower and it's ready by the time I hop in.
@@TKCL I turn on the shower then brush my teeth with my 2 minute electric toothbrush. Works for me but just thought I'd mention it. Have a great evening! :)
Wow that is a very long time
I just checked my DeWalt oscillating tool. Same problem here lol.
LOL ooops
Actually I would put a couple of outlets in the roof for high velocity fans that you could mount to your trusses
I did install one box in the ceiling over the truss for a 8-10ft fan.
Hi, beautiful day there. Great call on the overhead fan. We have a nice size covered patio where we have our Blackstone, but the previous owners didn't wire for overheads. You'll really be glad you did! Thanks for sharing. - David
I have a house they put copper pipe under the slab. After 40 years I noticed a damp spot by the front door. I am now in the process of replacing all the copper pipe with pex. The bathroom is a partially hard area, because the horizontal supports make fishing the pex through the wall difficult.
Copper definitely deteriorates over time, especially if you have hard water.
Spell checker can’t spell pex
On your patio you might consider one of thec3' diameter fans on wheels, then you can roll it around to wherever you are.
I have a circular shop fan on wheels, a misting fan and several other types. Can never have enough on 100 degree days here
First time I saw water in the walls was in North Va., I grew up in FL, everything is underground. To me it makes sense (underground). Good on you bud for taking the extra step.
Good thinking on the overhead fan and plumbing Andrew!
Thank you sir
“Yeah, crazy, I know…”. I think acceptance is the last step, lol. Live in Florida too, never had a problem with cpvc, but I get your logic. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see the spray foam episode!!!!
It's coming very soon!
ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure by Benjamin Franklin
At least you didn’t have to plug it in and forgot too!
Oh boy! If I forgot to plug that tool in I'd be in real trouble 🤣🤣🤣
Don't feel bad, I did the same thing with the DeWalt driver. I was wondering how do the expect you to drive a screw at warp speed. Well, just found that same speed switch last week and slowed it down for smaller hardware. Now it works a treat.
😬
I thought I would have seen the roll flashing vs the caulk on the outlet. Good video as always
I did caulk and then tyvek tape.... I'm all out of zip tape, more on order.
Andrew are you going used those post to make that isle 🤔🤔🤓🤓🎯🎯
Editing post video now, out soon for a very "different" project.
Woo Hoo!
Well smart thinking. But you should add surround music in your home. And outdoors
I use to own my own business doing home and automotive audio/video. After years of installing a bunch of equipment, I've realized these new Bluetooth speakers are amazing and very portable for music/entertainment. As for movie surround sound, not a problem for us. Me nor my wife have interest in movies, can't even remember the last time I watched one.
@@TKCL I get ya but nice hiden speakers no charging. Just perfect
They are nice, but a 100 dollar Bluetooth speaker nowadays can go anywhere around the house, pool or yard for minimal costs and be louder than I ever need. I just would rather put my money elsewhere in the house than a stereo system.
What about an outlet and switch on the porch facing the garage side for an electric sunshade?
Never thought about that, but I've seen some nice affordable manual sun shades that will work just fine.
I can see it now, hey hun, I didn't get enough amp drop from the pole....lol.
If by amp drop you mean 200 amp service from the power pole.....Won't be a problem, most residential homes never even use a fraction of provided power supply. Just because I have it wired up, doesn't mean everything gets turned on at once.
@@TKCL No offense intended. Was just messin' with your OCD, I love everything you do on your channel, that's why I subbed ya.
No I didn't take it that way, wasn't sure if you were serious or not. A lot of people have questioned if I'll have enough power. 400 amps of 120 volts is an insane amount of power that no single home should ever come close to hitting.
Andrew , that foam man needs to hurry up and get there ole buddy. You've started over thinking 🤔 everything. Your cool though 💨
Yes I have.... Happy to say I no longer have access to my walls, video out today.
Are you using the Pex with the crimp on rings or the expansion Pex (Upanor Pex)? I used the expansion Pex in my home renovation for the house I bought last December and it was super easy to use and work with. Also do not have the flow issues that you get with the Pex with the crimp rings because expansion Pex has true flow fittings like copper pipe, not fittings that go into pipe and then crimped down, reducing flow.
I'm quite certain this is the crimp pex, but it's for backup only. I never intend to use it unless something major happens.
I think you should run a complete set of backup electrical wires as well, just in case. 😉😉
Hardy harrr harrrrr 🤣
Haha. It’s got 3 speeds
Yes we'll..... Just finding that out
With all the rain and wind y’all be getting. What will the tv be in? Will you be building something waterproof for it?
Either a waterproof enclosure or a waterproof vinyl cover.
At 18:15, what are the boards laying loose on floor for? "just" storage for now?
Yes just storing materials
just wondering if you added any outdoor spigots
Two at opposing corners of the house. More to be added down the road.
Are you going to have a hood and exhaust fan above your cooking surface??
We are installing a microwave with exhaust, I've already ran the exhaust pipe out the wall.
We were out of town when our hot water line, which was run in the slab as is yours, burst. The water came up under our hardwood flooring and flooded all the way to the carpet in the bedrooms. Our cleaning lady came to clean and found it since we were out of town. Our flooring was totaled. We had to have a remedial company come to remove the flooring, dry up the water with big fans, and then we had new flooring installed. Our plumber took out a big square of drywall to access the hot water line and hook up the water. Our insurance paid for it minus a deductible, I believe. So, don't think it will never happen to you.
Oh I don't, but with that said PEX can bust in the wall or ceiling too. Any plumbing can fail causing a major problem.
Well if you like to over due everything dont forget to over due mine and cash5150 birthday and Christmas gifts since your our parents
I can't, spent all your money (including college tuition) on extra outlets and wiring.
Only problem I see with your back up Pex pipe plan-when the lifespan of the CVPC is up the Pex doesn't have much more time. It is not permanent.
Maybe the Pex will last longer since it's not under pressure and is protected by the spray-in insulation.
@@madampolo It still ages and deteriorates without water in it.
It's not meant to be there when cpvc wears out in 50 or 60 years (or longer). It's there as a backup in the event slab shift or catastrophic failure happens under slab.
dont put the tv above your heat and water sources? that can cause splatter and moisture with your electronics
I've been thinking about the heat portion, it'll be up high enough away from the sink.
LOL Seems your like me. I do something embarassing and look around to make sure only God and me know what I did. THEN I go and tell EVERYONE about what I did
Lol well might as well get it off your chest.
22 minute video. Opens with over 10 minutes of talking.
Like the decisions on the pex, as a back-up, though. Never heard of anyone doing that, but you do have time.
Maybe add some overhead extra electrical boxes in the porch, too. Never know.
Even with a disclaimer right at the beginning of the video that it had a lot of talking...... I still get talking complaints 🙄
@@TKCL that’s ok Andrew! I get not enough talking complaints in mine!!😂😂. Hard to find that happy medium. Lol
🤣 Very true
And you'll keep getting comments on all the talking as long as you choose not to listen.
But remember, I am still watching.
Keep that in mind.
Just because I bring up my thoughts on all the talking, it doesn't mean I'm not going to watch. just trying to help you.
I noticed you could be talking while working. Think about trying more of that. I think it would help.
I'll take the criticism, but sometimes it's easier to answer questions, concerns and talk while things are on my mind.
Rather than run pex to appease some neurotic viewers maybe think about a central vac system.
Backup is a good thing, especially if it's cheap enough. No vacuum needed, all vinyl plank flooring in the house. Robot vac and swiffers should take care of most anything other than a big spill.
