  • CMPD honored four officers killed in the line of duty on April 29, including Charlotte police officer Joshua Eyer.
Eyer was one of four law enforcement officers killed during an April 29 shooting in east Charlotte. He was working with a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force when the suspect shot numerous officers.
Johnny Jennings, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department chief, will unveil Eyer's name engraved on the memorial during a wreath-laying ceremony outside the Law Enforcement Center, which is located at 701 East Trade Street. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m.
After the unveiling of the updated memorial, a processional march to First Baptist Charlotte will begin. The church is the same location where a funeral for Eyer was recently held. #Charlotte #News #Police
