I don't know about this backstory, but the backstory of Daybreak is going to break your heart to pieces, but don't worry, Dimash will put it back together. Watch it on Gloria Wu's channel, all the information is there. Di was sick and lost his voice before the live. They had to give him an injection directly in the throat. Seeing that needle sink in his skin gave me nightmares 😢

This was Dimash's 1st time performing a Chinese song. He had to learn it from scratch phonetically (given only one week time frame) and he succeeded beyond wild expectations. A Kazakh who don't know Mandarin singing a Mandarin song to a predominantly Mandarin speaking audience.......that took courage, hard work and dedication......highly admirable. This song earned him the Best Asia Popular Male Singer 2017 - from Golden Melody Awards in Hong Kong.

I’m a 53 year old who never heard of Dimash until a week ago. Since then I’ve become addicted. I’ve listened to him an unhealthy number of times. I think Autumn strong is his best. Without knowledge of the backstory or even knowledge that he sang it in Chinese - I could feel the emotions. The love song was sad, I could feel the “yearning” the “longing” even that short operatic part sounded like “moaning” a desperate wailing cry. Dimash was spectacular; not for his vocal gymnastics, but his ability to convey these emotions with his performance. It’s his best by far in my opinion. Few artists can make you feel these emotions even when you can’t understand a single word he says. Once you learn the backstory, turns out I was right. It’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

Uptown Funk wasn't a bad performance, the emphasis simply wasn't on the vocal. Many stars use playback when they have exhausting choreographies in their shows.

I subscribed because I love Dimash. There are many good singers out there but Dimash holds a SPECIAL PLACE in my heart as a singer/vocalist. He is the COMPLETE PACKAGE we can't find anywhere else......at least this generation.

He is so amazing! That he can sing a different genre and everyone is totally into it. Ep 5 he sings ((Uptown Funk)) the performance was just so fun and so enjoyable! I loved every bit of seeing this side to him! I think his English is great considering how long he had been learning it up to this song. Dimash is just amazing! I’m so glad I became a Dear! 🤗, he's the best, the most amazing and astonishing singer I ever listened to. but nothing big of vocal acrobitic here IT'S JUST FUN. So may be you want to REACT NEXT TO Ep 6 Adagio which is was a WOOOOOOW performance he plays an instrument and multi-layer singing and emotions DUE to his previous performance score on Ep5 ((uptown funk)), yes he was feeling the pressure from Ep5 that's why on this Ep6 he even try harder to won and it was wooooooooooooooooooooooow. Dimash definitely has a profound ability to physically display the emotion of a song. He gets totally into the character of a song. You are still going to see in more of his performances.

Thank you for using story & performance from Gloria Wu. PLEASE do the same for episode 8 Daybreak. People will suggest only using the version from the Bastau concert but it doesn't have the tragic back story which also includes coverage about the problem Dimash had the day of the performance or coverage about his family or the picture at the end of the author of the song & the boy she adopted. Without the story & words people don't even realize it is a song about a tragedy.

@@justynatrela9140 Both is fine as long as Gloria Wu version is first because Bastau version on it's own does not convey the story explaining the whole reason Han wrote it is because of the tragedy so people that only react to Bastau sit there smiling during the whole song and it makes me cry watching them smile.

His diction is also fantastic, considering he's singing in a foreign language. I don't understand what he's saying without the captions, but it's unmistakably Mandarin. Even Chinese artists that are exposed to Mandarin since childhood have quirky diction when they sing in Mandarin, lol. Dimash is just so versatile and stellar.

One of my favorite songs performed by Dimash. A touching story about the fate of the actress, forced to leave China during the war. Vocalization - sounds in late song, as crying women on lost love. Execution Dimash differs from the first by Koji Tammaki, and in some ways superior. The song "Love is like a dream", written by Maestro Igor Krutoy ( he works with Dimash, and previously with Lara Fabian), is somewhat similar to this song.

The composition Passion is based on the epic work-the divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri and is also divided into three parts-Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. As well as their new collaboration-Olimpico. Both works he performed at the contest New Wave in August this year, they are presented on the official website of Dimash.
Noticed you empathizing with the long haired young man in the competitor's room. He's a member of a rock group called 'Lions', rock being a relatively new genre in China. That Dimash could move a hard core rocker like him to near tears is telling. Also, am happy you're doing 'Uptown Funk'. Dimash had fun doing it, I think, and that made me happy, too.

Please react to Uptown Funk too. I don't agree with others that say it is not good. It is not the type of song that some expect from him......nonetheless it is a good performance too. Uptown Funk is not a song to showcase his exceptional vocals......it's a fun song. And to me, that's what Dimash deliver, a fun song. Maybe it's not his best performance, but it's not bad either.
