That's one great thing about our culture, it's almost like a must. I just had a baby myself and I wanted to do it on my own but my family jumped on me saying it will be disrespectful for me to tell my mom not to come help. it's seen as you depriving your mom from her right if she doesn't come. Even my mother-in-love is so sad because she's been sick and hasn't been able to come help too. All that being said.... I'm so happy I listened. I don't think I'd have made it without help. I don't know how single American mothers do it. I have a whole new level of respect for them.

That's one great thing about our culture, it's almost like a must. I just had a baby myself and I wanted to do it on my own but my family jumped on me saying it will be disrespectful for me to tell my mom not to come help. it's seen as you depriving your mom from her right if she doesn't come. Even my mother-in-love is so sad because she's been sick and hasn't been able to come help too. All that being said.... I'm so happy I listened. I don't think I'd have made it without help. I don't know how single American mothers do it. I have a whole new level of respect for them.
