Why Is My weBoost Not Working?

  • You turn on your weBoost and you don't get a signal. The light is green! It worked yesterday! But the signal is STILL garbage!
We did a teardown of our weBoost only to discover that the coaxial cable had slipped out of its sheath. A quick and easy fix using a soldering iron and some wire restored our connection.

Our truck is a 2009 GMC Savana G3500 cut-away with a 12 ft box. We converted it into our tiny home on wheels and moved in May 2021 to travel North America for rock climbing, hiking, and outdoor adventures.

Thank you for this! My weboost worked for 6 months and then just completely stopped. Their tech support was super unhelpful as well, and I drilled a freaking hole in my roof for this! Going to try this fix now. Thank you!

Really hoping this solves it for you. Apart from this bad design with the antenna plug the weboost worked really well for us (I did try different boosters in the past that wouldn't do anything, this was the first I could actually see the signal improve).
Let us know how it goes.

Just a short video while we get our bearings in the new 2022 year. We weren't able to find any video that helped us with our issue, so we did it ourselves.
We'll be sharing more adventures next Sunday (👀🤫 Burning Van meetup). We hope you have an awesome week!

For the roughly $700 they want for this product... this problem is unacceptable.

Yeah we agree, for the price tag that should not happen. I don't know if they've fixed it in the mean time. We've bought a replacement antenna which now has a much longer cable so you can plug it directly into the booster.
We could have tried getting some warranty I guess, but when you're on the road you just want things to work again and not argue with support and figure out shipping.
The replacement was only $20 so not too bad.

It's nice to see that your like me. Society has taught everyone to throw away and buy new. Why? Quite often things are so easy to just fix.

Yeah there's so much stuff that ends up in garbage and actually would just need a part replaced.

Just checked by "inside" antenna. One has the same issue. No wire visible inside antenna end of the coax.
    THANKS for your video !!

May I know what app you used in your mobile phone to check the signal .. we have a weebost we just installed and we don't know if it's working or not. We want to see the signal strength it can generate...
