I think Bruno fell to the ground because he was right in striking range, got poked in both eyes, couldnt see and felt going to the ground was his safest chance to not get KOd while blind.
fr. he was essentially blinded in both eyes, so at that point he doesn't know where the ref even is to signal to him, and more importantly he doesn't know where is opponent is anymore and if chris is going to keep throwing. his best option was to go to the ground and protect the head. common sense ain't common and DC proves it
I think he was looking for a way out for 3 rounds and got a break in the first two rounds for non eye pokes. The commentators even mentioned how they didn't touch him. He flopped because it was a bigger reaction that he thought would snatch up that DQ win, but he was ignored because he already cried wolf twice. Got to see and also meet Mark Coleman, last Friday in Kentucky during the LFA card, he was there in support of his team alongside Matt Brown (who was cornering their guy). Mark looked good, looked healthy, was really happy to see it. Got a quick picture and shook his hand, to give him his respect and flowers as well as a legend but as a hero as well.
