I just finished watching your video, the Seascape and the lighthouse I love it!! I only started painting when I turned 60 today is my birthday, I'm 66. I have always loved art, never knew I could paint or draw LOL till like I said I turned 60. I like to give my paintings to people as gifts.. I have a couple here on UA-cam that I really enjoy and really helped me and I just recently found you so you are added to my go-to list😊 thank you for taking your time and doing this for those of us that are trying to learn this beautiful art!! I'll be watching for all your new videos to take care and God bless!!❤ oh by the way my grandfather was an artist I have a huge painting that he did back in the day Jesus in The Garden. I didn't know him at all really coming from a broken family and I just happened upon that painting by happenstance but what a blessing!! It's the one and only I've ever seen but he had several out there somewhere anyway.. just thought I'd mention that!!

I love this painting!! The colors, the sky, the cliff, and the tree on the left! I painted that lighthouse from a photo taken in winter time with snow and ice on rocks in the water. The lighthouse on the cliff was farther away. My pastor said he used to go there often when he lived in Minnesota. Coincidentally, my father's name was Bill Watson.
How crazy they have the same name! I bet it would be beautiful in winter as well ❤️

Beautiful….could you discuss more on the use of the mop brush. I’m having difficulty,maybe not using enough paint.
You bet, which part in particular? The blending with dry brush or the application for bushes and trees 😊
@@joniyoungart bushes and trees….I seem to get blobs so the shape is lost and it looks like just a big blob…..
Make sure your brush is dry ( no water) lightly tap into the paint and then tap lightly here and there for your foliage. Careful not to overload or over tap, that’s when you create “blobs”
Hi Joni, I'm a fairly new fan. I'm 70 & I'm trying to use my very arthritic hands & make something beautiful!
Besides my hands not always cooperating I live in the desert & everything dries so very fast!
Any advice for keeping paint from drying so fast & any tools that would help me grip brushes better? TIA

I would really recommend you try adding a slow drying medium to your acrylics if f you’re in a high heat area most the time. I think this would benefit you a lot 😊

I just left michaels and they had those huge filbert brushes like you use I was tempted to get it but I'm still trying to attempt one of your paintings. God bless
