- In this recording I used the 4th harmonic pedal in resonance position only. The harmonic pedal was invented by Denis de La Rochefordière.

Hands and fingers so sure, crisp and steady. Praying to get to this level some day Paul. Thanks for your videos
Thanks, Ayodeji, you're welcome.
Your videos are inspiring and touching on a level I cannot express... I especially love Bach... thank you, as always, for sharing your wonderful talent.
Bravo, Paul!
Excellent control and confidence over the Prelude. Enjoyed the pace and the dynamics of Fugue.
Another welcomed and refreshing interpretation.
Cheers!
Incredible rendition. Absolutely love this fugue. Congratulations as well on your release of your Spofity playlist on the first part of the WTC1. Your recordings are pure class
Inspiring clear-out playing as always...
Absolutely respect for You Paul!
Greetings from Hungary
Beautiful! Wonderful playing - thank you so much for sharing this.
inspirational !! thanks for uploading
Love what the harmonic pedal does to this P&F.
@Paul Barton Could you please play Schumanns "The smuggler"? That would be so great! Thank you for your beautiful music!
Hello My friend Paul Barton, I'm a big fan of your work, I learn a lot with your tutorials, I live in Brazil, and I would like to see you play a composition by a Brazilian pianist, for example. (Ernesto Nazareth - Odeon), and thank you for your videos.
Oi, Tudo bem? I used to live in Brazil too, in Rio and Minas. Here is my recording of "Odeon" ua-cam.com/video/UWtmW7tejrI/v-deo.html
Legal .....Obrigado Paul..!!!
Thank you, Alexis!
m 35-36 are so expressive, tender and cosmic.
bravo
It reminds me of Chopins Etude op10 no.4 the prelude
aun sigo esperando el prelude and fugue n.15, ya falta poco
There are two things that are very hard to compose with any success. The first is two-part counterpoint and the other is a fugue that doesn't sound mechanical or contrived. Bach does both so well I am tempted to warn: Do not try this at home!
I hope to be as skilled as you one day
love all your posts Maestro Paul you are so wonderful can do Rachmanioff Elergie Opus 3 No 1. Thank you so much
COOL
I think what would be very helpful is actually you doing a recording of a piece you haven't seen before and practicing it/learning it.
Aloof Musician Would love to see that too !
Why did you not contuinue playing the trill in the following statements of the fugue's subject, @PaulBarton ?
Sometimes Paul sustains notes as written, but other times he just doesn't bother.
I've noticed this sometimes on his Scarlatti recordings.
1:13
baaaach 😍
Mistake(?) at 0:29 measure 9, right hand, 4th is a C sharp yet you played a D sharp.
Bro i was so confused about that lol
Hey Paul. I have little observation. Sorry if this give you a iritation or some other negative feelings but. I watch your hands while piano pllaying and i need to say. The doesen't look like a typical master piano player. The look like hands of Craftsman. Of course your play is one of best in youtube. But i thnik maybe you did start a piano playing not in early times of your lifes when you were 5 - 7 yeras old but later and if my thinking is coreect i think you have very, very, very good technique. My dream is to get piano technique like your. Thanks
I am certainly no master, as you correctly observed. I'm just a regular guy that likes playing piano music and my hands are, as you can see, far from being an ideal size or shape for playing piano. That said, each and every day I wake up the very first thing I want to do is play the piano.
@@PaulBartonPiano and that is what is important. you love playing and teaching us how to play the piano and I absolutely love your videos.
Nice! One thing I would have liked to see is the differentiation between the voices in the chords in 0:51 for example.
Bach, even though of course knowing about chords, thought polyphonically. Thats why the the passage sounds a bit too "chordy" to me.
But that would just be icing on top of this awesome bach cake :D
This prelude reminds me to Chopin's Torrent Etude, maybe a little inspiration for Chopin's music :p
Wow, so you really havent really learnt anything about music history, Bach existed before Chopin, also Chopins torrents are all based on some poets (i think) so yeah
Thank you for the history lesson kid, I think there's a comment there where they say that Chopins impromptu sounds similar to Beethoven's passage of the moonlight sonata 3rd mov. Why don't you go to apply some of your masterclass and tell them that Beethoven existed before Chopin?? hahaha :p, cheers kid, no hard feelings of course I know Bach was before Chopin, everyone knows!! It was a random comment that maybe Chopin really took this as inspiration, sometimes they find inspiration on common finger exercises and not a piece in specific.
Johansson Cisneros im not a kid but ok
Johansson Cisneros also Chopin took inspirations from poets for most of his pieces. Also i havent gotten any masterclasses nor going to
having some similarity doesnt mean the -weirer of that piece took the inspirations from other artist, sometimes
1:26 не знать элементарного, трели Баха играются сверху, а не в ноту, как написано 🙄
He definitely practices 40 hours a day
Why are people not tired of this joke yet
