Absolutely have to agree with that assessment. Mark e was a special character and he was able to assemble talented line-ups continuously and extract music that is so fucken good it will be thudding through my speakers til I can no longer hear!
@@markdyballuk right, but in live performances, Brix does lead on the ending section while CS is playing rhythm. She plays it with the Extricated that way as well.
from one project to another one was never certain which direction Mark was going to take, but The Fall was always HIS vehicle. We won't have another mind like this anytime soon
Last Fall Peel set with Smith's original authentic Totalle voice intact. Some kind of fake yank twang infection took hold of his voicebox in the years thereafter right up to the chronic drawl desease of 2day..
One of the final sessions recorded with Mark pre-Yank accent put-on that he adopted forever after a fan called Michael ;-) sent him a demo tape full of fake L/ Reed NY accents. Still, no matter.
' 87, the last year b4 MES adopts weird fake yank slang to his vocals ( check out 1988 Peel Sessions ). Inbetween times a fan has sent him demo tape full of Lou Reed imitation vocals!
Tonight, I’m going to love The Fall tonight.
As Peel said,'They're The Fall, they're all you need'.
Always the same, always different...the greatest british band ever...
yep.

The Fall makes my day again. Thanks.
Brix's guitar and Hanleys' bass on the second half of Guest Informant are super powerful on this.
not craig scanlon?
@@markdyballuk not according to the live performances
@@xyloplax he is listed as having played at this peel session...

Athlete Cured melody is actually from Spinal Tap: "tonight I'm gonna rock ya tonight".
how could there be no comments to this classic set!

Go straight to Guest informant
Late 80s Fall, the last of the authentic MES vocal sound.
Before he took to a weird affected fake yank drawl.

Whats your source for this ?
@@kil93 Brix would probably remember the relevant tape. About the time of "Telephone Thing"
So you keep saying. 🥱

Repetition!
No offense but who cares?
No

Good session but Brix's vocals on Twister are so annoying, crap.
incorrect
Oops, hadn't got to the end of the track. They are a bit crap.
just got to the end. still incorrect

Brix’s not so great vocals only add to their unique musicality
