Early May and we drop by Foxfield Railway for their Diesel Gala , this years engines are Class 14 D9531 'Ernest', Bagnall Leys, Wolstantonon No. 3, Thomas Hill 111C and In steam Wimblebury.
Thanks for a fabulous record of the event, I was the chap in orange controlling moves at the Colliery both days and it's nice to see the bits you miss. The event was a success in that it covered its costs and the organisers are already planning a repeat event next year.
Another excellent production, and of a subject few others would go to such lengths to cover, if only you could educate television production companies on how to film railways, instead of what we usually get, slanted close ups of wheels accompanied by bizarre music !
Great video. Dont see the foxfield diesel fleet out and about much on here either that or i havent come across. Where abouts is the shot at 42:50 im planning a trip and trying to get ideas
The steepest gradient of any UK standard-gauge railway still in existence. The Foxfield line has a max gradient of 1 in 20 I believe. There was another English mine with a short gradient of 1:17 .
i shall watch this again and again and still see more each time Thanks.
