@@Ethan-lo1rc depends. If you dont secure the string to your drone too much then it might simply get pulled off and tangled in the blades/motors of the target. something like a paperclip might bend and release

Cool drone, however you may want to protect the underside. If another drone gets underneath you and accelerates upwards, they may destroy your rotors. Might want to fix that.

Frankreich hätte auch ganz einfach von den Sowjets zu einem kommunistischem Marionettenstaat werden können. nur die Amerikaner haben den den Arsch gerettet.
Und außerdem bin ich Halb-Türke, also halt fühlt dich nicht so überlegen und beleidige Leute die flüchten, die aus Ländern bzw. aus Gegenden flüchten, für die ihr verantwortlich seit. Ihr seid in den Mittleren Osten und Nordafrika einmaschiert und ausmaschiert und nicht für eine stabile Regierung gesorgt, wobei sich die Franzosen immer als Erschaffer der Republik ansehen, obwohl es die Griechen waren. Außerdem komm ich aus Baden-Württemberg, dort lernt man französisch in der Schule und ist durch zum Beispiel Austausche sehr eng mit Frankreich verbunden. Eins muss ich euch geben, ihr habt ein differenzierteres Land, was die Landschaft angeht. Ich mein, ich gehe gerne nach Marseille und Straßburg.
Dort ist es immerhin schön, die Musik ist gut und das Essen ist geil.
Ich selber habe auch schon erwartet, dass du den Vollidioten auf der braunen Rechten Seite unterstützt. Macron ist jetzt nicht ansatzweise besser, jedoch ist er offen für die EU und was passiert, wenn man sie nicht hat, sieht man an England und vor allem bezahlen wir Deutsche eure Bauern, da sie sonst nicht genügend verdienen . Ich selber finde es fehlen überall mehr Leute, die in der Mitte sind. In Deutschland gibt es die AfD, die kein richtiges Wahlprogramm haben und das Gesetz umgehen, dann gibt es die Linke, die selber absurde Ideen haben, die SPD, weiß nicht was sie machen soll, die CSU/CDU ist christlich und die Grüne ist zu fokussiert auf die Umwelt.
I hope you wake up soon and see the reality of today. Isolationism and Nationalism doesn`t help the economy and makes Problems for everybody. Without the EU nobody would buy your food, okay maybe the vine, but everything else is cheaper from f.e. Brazil. And your cars aren`t that competitive against other brands, like Fiat, VW, BMW, Daimler, Toyota, Skoda.

Peter I have a favor to ask. Could you normalize the sound of your videos so that your voice is louder but the drone noises are quieter? your (sound or maybe video) editing program of choice might have an option for that. Reason for that is I can basically only watch your videos with headphones because of my angry neighbors, and then it's either a lot of pain or a lot of turning volume up and down. Thanks a lot if you find a way, but don't worry too much, I'll deal somehow.
QuantumFluxable They could already be normalized. Buzzy sounds often are perceived to sound louder than non-buzzy sounds at the same actual volume. Same thing for continuous sounds vs ones that aren’t (such as speech).
Conic screens pointing upwards within a short shroud would reduce the edge turbulence and still allow the same rate of air ingest. The square top means that it still restricts the air coming in from directly above and creates turbulence ahead of the blades as it pulls in air irregularly from 90 degrees to the thrust direction.

A balloon with a radio repeater and GPS beacon would be awesome...you'd be able to talk for miles and miles even on UHF or VHF. I just had a 55-mile contact using a handheld to patch into a mountaintop repeater 13 miles from me; relative altitude is everything with radio.
And the most underappreciated pun of the year award goes to the camera man for his hit single "I think you mist".
Just a recommendation: you could cover all the foam that is directly next to the airflow with tape to make it smoother. On the other side you put a bird head on it so I'm not sure if you care about that a lot...

Been watching you for years and inspired me to build some drones but I'm doing my GCSEs now in the UK and I need something to do after this would be my dream job is there any way I could like join work for the flite test group somehow
Did you ever consider possibly building some sort of mesh pyramid or dome structure on top? Feel like it would have blocked things from getting to the props while at the same time causing most objects to naturally slide or deflect right off without too much additional effort from the drone. Would the shape negatively affect the aerodynamics too much or is it just not something that was considered?

You already know something's wrong when your battle drone can be knocked out with a rubber flip-flop.
Steel mesh also works really well as traction material if you ever get a vehicle stuck in a mud-hole.

It's probably been mentioned, but have you looked into cutting down some larger props and making your own bull nose props? Supposedly ducts enjoy bull nose props. Plus you can dial in your duct clearance with that strategy for the maximum thrust.

Just want to mention as a Dutchy here:
The battles are in Katwijk which is a 35 minute drive from Amsterdam. It's such a shame that I've got an important sports match on that day, I would have loved to come see the battle and more importantly you.
Fun fact: Next to the place where the match is there is a hangar from the famous musical: "Soldaat van Oranje" (soldier of orange) which is about WW2 in the Netherlands. The musical has been prolonged for 8 years and approximately 2,6 million of 17 million Dutch citizens had already visited the musical in 2016. Add to that that the scenery is extremely impressive as the seats turn towards a new stage every scene and there's even a real airplane.

Do radio waves travel well in water?
@@LostieTrekieTechie the radio on my RC truck works up to 500ft in air (and it's a cheap radio too), so I think they work fine underwater. I'm not certain, but I don't think water affects the radio waves much.
2.4ghz sux underwater need to use 72mhz or lower even.

Steel domed mesh with alu wrap on top and steelmesh on the side of the domes would probably be your most effective top defense, put that boxfan mesh underneath the airfoils to protect all the underside bits
All these geniuses thinking they’re original by saying they made it look french dont know that the french was made after the american flag and they intentionally made it using the american flag because they were revolting after america so they chose our flag as the basis of freedom. So they made a flag that looks american in a roundabout way.
