this is a great explanation of this feature. i use it a lot now for retracing my scrambles... however, the straight line is actually another great option. you can use it to bee-line wherever you can. in your example, you make your way around the net, then keep bee-lining across the golf course. i;ve used this a few times while hiking in terrain where i just traverse where i have obstacles.
Thanks that explains it nicely, does it work if you just keep running in the direction of the arrow until it's less than 5m. Is the 945 worth the upgrade from 935 for maps if you run in new areas or is this enough to not get lost?
thanks for your video, I am thinking buying FR 935 now, just wonder if you can import GPX file as mountain run, hiking route, and use this navigation function? I assume it doesnt have maps function like finex 5x? thx!
Hey there! This started as normal with just a ‘run’ activity, no special settings in advance. Then halfway through I paused the run and then navigated to the “return to start” option. Hope that helps!

I got a fenix 6x and I noticed that during the navigation on a saved course, the fenix show me the turn by turn telling me how many meters I have left to the next turn.....but if a get back by the tracbak feature the turn by turn feature disappear....same for u?? Thank u!
I'm running the fenix6 and when you back track the scale of the screen is zoomed out too much even if im only 50 meters away pretty annoying as i cant seem to change the scale. Any ideas? TIA

Yeah the first scenario would have been easily solved by doing trackbac when you got to the point you were going to do laps at

Example. Climbing a mountain but, I wish to choose another path on the way back down. Can the watch guide me to the start point via my new path?
Maybe you can use Back to Start with Straight Line.
