  • Review of the CVLIFE 1x28x40mm Red Dot Reflex Sight (amzn.to/3Hck4YE). This is a great budget friendly compact red dot sight for rifles weighing only 5.4 oz. It has 4 reticle choices and adjustable brightness to customize the sight to your environment. It runs on three LR44 batteries in a stacked position and comes with two wrapped three pack batteries.

I mounted this red dot on my Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 rifle for a quick and easy plinking gun at the range. As expected it performed well on this .22 rifle, maintaining zero and a good grouping at various distances out to 25 yards. The larger 28x40mm lens provided a good field of view and allowed mounting further up the rifle for better eye relief.
The standard picatinny mount is tightened using the provided hex wrench. It would be nice to see a quick detach lever, but it does offer a very tight mount for maintaining zero if stored on the rifle. The same hex wrench is used to adjust the elevation on the top and windage on the side. Before adjusting, the second smaller hex wrench provided must be used to release the adjustment locking screw and re-tighten after adjusting.
The lens is protected well by the larger hood, keeping glare to a minimum as well as fingers and other debris from getting on the lens. The lens is clear and the reticles are crisp and clean, providing low eye strain and quick reticle re-acquisition after firing.
The hard plastic case with soft foam inserts it comes protected in is also a nice touch. Although not as robust of a case as my EOTech sights, it provides a reasonable amount of protection for the red dot. It's also large enough to hold the provided hardware, batteries, cleaning cloth, and instructions as well. Overall a great red dot sight for the price point.

I bought this red dot and i finally took my 22lb rife out yesterday. I went to a indoor range that has 50 yard lanes. I got it sighted in pretty good. So far it worked good.

I purchased mine but I can see two cross hairs is that because I haven't sighted mine in yet or are they defective?

Why do you mount your dot on the rail? You can see it moving in the slow mo at the beginning. It will hold zero better on the upper receiver.

Quick question is that red hue really visible from the shooter side?

on the higher setting it is visible, I only use the lower settings because it feels like a laser pointer to the eye
