    Moved to Cincinnati from Tampa bay Florida. For families , Cincinnati area is one of the few places where families can still afford to raise kids . We were impressed by health care system , quality of education , affordable housing , strong job market and high paying jobs here in cincinnati and NKY region. I am not surprised FAMILIES are moving here .
    On the other hand FL is turning into California with unaffordable housing and child care , low paying jobs and highly competitive job market , congested and over crowded state, rampant use of drugs , high crime, poor quality of education and , shortage of groceries , gas , water due to hoarding specially when it’s the hurricane season .

    Visited Cincinnati for a Packers game. Loved the stadium district! Jogged up Mt. Adams and over bridge to Covington. Incredible architecture and potential especially when/if basic manufacturing returns to historic river towns.

      You should come back for the Flying Pig Marathon in the spring and at least get a medal! But yes, lots of fun hills to climb and architecture to see. Not sure about the manufacturing portion, but maybe...

    We are looking at moving to Cincinnati specifically for the Children’s Hospital, our care in our state is sub-par. And Cincinnati is phenomenal, a hospital, the people, everyone has been amazing every time we go. Hopefully, we will be able to move that direction sooner rather than later, instead of flying there.

    I moved here in 2015 from Florida. Several of my friends from Colorado, California Texas and Florida moved here over the past three years..
    I was a WAN engineer for a large telco so I traveled all over spending months in cities from the east ti west coast.
    Cincinnati is by far my favorite city.

      The people are really nice.
      You can hire a contractor and he actually does the job and doesn't rip you off.
      The houses are .. WOW.. the architecture and construction are the best in the country and they are very well maintained and still cheap. Some of the churches are spectacular. and the bridges across the river. most of the houses have VIEWS you would pay a million for in other cities! The hills bowl shape around the city make the city a giant outdoor theater for houses.
      The hills, I love the hills!
      Crime, yes you look at statistics, but actually living here you find out that unlike LA or NY all the crime is reported where something like a car break in in cali happens so often you don't bother to report it! You just leave your car unlocked because its cheaper than broken windows.
      People in Cincinnati don't even think like that!!! They think OTR is bad, lol. Try port st Lucey Florida! Area of half million dollar homes, don't walk alone at night! The worst areas of Cincinnati are better than the best in Miami or LA it's just a perception thing as evident by the lack of litter and graffiti.
      The food, yeah, you have some really good local eating. Bakeries! real old fashioned bakeries!
      Arts and events? The symphony is top notch , Cincinnati pops known worldwide. and unlike NYC you can actually get tickets!!! Plays? No problem, Museums, lots of them, events, many.. City parks and green spaces all around.

    • @LivinginCincinnatiOhio
      @LivinginCincinnatiOhio  Рік тому +2

      There are walkable areas, like Downtown, Over-the-Rhein, Hyde Park, Mariemont Mt Adams Mt Washington and probably a few others. Beyond that, we have a bus system. No other mass transportation and if you live in the suburbs, not even busses. Very car-dependent city overall.

    I've seen plenty of properties available under 200k some even under 150k. I have credit but not alot of cash. Is 10-15k enough to buy? I'd do a townhouse or a condo

    • @LivinginCincinnatiOhio
      @LivinginCincinnatiOhio  Рік тому +2

      Yep! Now, condos and townhomes will almost never go FHA so you would need to be able to do some sort of conventional financing, but there are 3, 5, and 10% down options. If a home is in need of some updates, we always recommend putting the least amount down to save your cash for those updates. But in our current market, you probably also need to pay your own closing costs, so be prepared for that also.

      Definitely come see us! Way different than Atlanta. Like it's not steamy HOT and HUMID for days on end. Maybe once in a while, but that's definitely not our normal. December 2022 it got to 32 below for a moment but extremely cold sub zero temps for 3-4 days. That's the coldest it has been since the 70s. So, it's not awesome, but it could be a lot worse.

    • @LivinginCincinnatiOhio
      @LivinginCincinnatiOhio  Рік тому +2

      Our MLS got hacked in early August which is why I have not yet done a market update this month. Our new system is up as of a few days ago, but everyone is still trying to figure it out, and it got launched earlier than expected so they still have enhancements to make. But I'm please at how quickly things seem to be progressing. Hopefully, everything will be running like normal sometime in early September.

      @LivinginCincinnatiOhio Well, I've lived both places. Cinci in 87 & 91. It was mostly a shit hole them, except for the UC campus, and even it had a lot of ghetto spillover. A lot has changed. OTR has come back up, along with Madisonville and many other neighborhoods. Columbus, where I lived from 92-96 and 05-19 had much more positive energy about it, but now it's going down. Nothing but either greedy yuppies or street thugs. The roles have been reversed in the last few years. I know about Cinci now from lots of visits. I go to regular drum circle in parks on campus and Price Hill.
