  • This is my Eureka Lemon tree, purchased last year from 'Robert Dyas' ... or was it 'YouGarden'?
Either way, its a great tree and i'm happy with its progress this far.
Its very fragrant and a joy to own, producing several fruit in it's first year that I hope to taste in the next few months.
The substrate I've used is a store bought specialist Citrus mix and it's potted in a natural terracotta pot.

Great looking specimen, the weather shielding provided by the fencing and the house wall contributes significantly to a favorable microclimate fot the tree.

It really is in a good condition, since filming it is covered in a bouquets of citrus flowers and lots of new buds forming.
I actually don't keep in in the spot this was filmed but maybe I do have a slight microclimate in my tiny garden as im able to keep some sub-tropicals / mediterranean plants alive outdoor.

Very impressive, it looks like a strong and healthy plant. Mine doesn’t look so good but hoping the warmer weather will help it grow a bit this year.

Thanks dude. I had previously thought that Yougarden was a budget store and I didn't really expect them to have the top quality plants ... but I was wrong. They have great plants at sensible prices and the Eureka Lemon is a fantastic variety. Glad you've got one also.

@@MoebiusUK yeah I’ve had a few things from them and on the whole it’s been okay. I tried growing mine in the ground 🤦‍♂️. Anyway it’s in a pot now and doing better.

Thank you. Hopefully the weather warms up soon and this tree will put on some more growth. I've never tasted a cirus fruit that I've grown myself so i'm looking forward to it.

Wow, it looks incredible! Way healthier than mine lol 😂
The leaves are very fragrant aren't they? I think I need to repot mine this year, it's still in its original pot. Mine also came from YouGarden, like most of my citrus. They have some really good-sized citrus trees, it's just potluck what variety you end up with, although I think the lemons are all Eureka lemon trees.

I think my tree is a YouGarden tree that I bought from Robert Dyas .... I think they were slightly cheaper at Robert Dyas and also come with free delivery for fruit trees ... both stores have the same supplier.
The leaves are just incredible. I had given up on Citrus after I failed to keep a Meyer Lemon alive but this Eureka has made me fall in love with them.
I do have another Eureka Lemon that's a little smaller but it doesn't have any fruit or flowers, so like your plant it probably isn't mature enough to be as productive ... yet.

@@MoebiusUK I was also ready to throw in the towel with citrus, but I think keeping them outside was the key. As long as you can stop them from getting too cold, they are much happier outside than indoors. The amount of citrus I've lost indoors, because I was too risk averse and didn't want to put them outside, thinking they wouldn't adapt...
But now I have more citrus than I ever thought I would have (with a few more on the way lol) 😂
Oh yeah, I have seen Robert Dyas selling some of YouGardens plants, I think it worked out better going directly with YouGarden last time for me because I had some discount codes lol, trying to entice me to spend more with them lol (and it worked lol 😂😂).

@@PeterEntwistle ahh discount codes... I overlooked those. SMH. lol.
How are your Poncirus Trifoliata doing? I've just tried to germinate 100 seeds but I think I had the temps too high in my propagator so many of the seeds literally cooked. I ended up with around 30 plants .... not including the ones I bought from Jurassic plants. .... These will be my rootstock for future Citrus grafting projects.

@@MoebiusUK Yeah, mine are looking fine, I've not looked at them in detail for a bit, but I don't think they've started to grow yet or anything, but they have all been unprotected outside all winter. I haven't grown any from seed, as I didn't want to risk getting old seeds that had dried out. But I'm hoping to eventually propagate more of them with cuttings and graft on to them. Mostly just to make backup plants of my larger ones and I'll probably give some away to family and friends too (assuming I can successfully graft them lol).

Cheers, Brett. I can't speak highly enough of this Eureka variety. It actually brings me joy. Gave it's first feed of the year today so hope it reacts well because it#s not exactly warm weather.
