That 1000RX was rough with a non original paint job, but £500? Bargain! As someone with 7 1990s bikes already, I’d have had that for a restoration project. I need to get on board with auctions, I’d have had a few of these 😄👌🏼
Some lovely bikes here. Do not understand why people buy from the “ importers” of scrap iron. Calling them “ barn finds” is overselling, more like “ bottom of the canal” finds.
If you want to LOOSE a chunck of money buy one of these "CLASSIC HEAPS" . Auctioneers "RUNNING YOU WITH NO BIDS" auction fees vatable . Do not know where the "SMUCKS " come from. ( Buy one put it back in next auction NO BIDS !! suprise suprise).
Its on its way down for good, the Generation change makes this stuff surplus, they have no interest, the investment days are over, its easy to see. Ive been involved with classic stuff since 1980. That Muppet that paid for that RD....even though the exhausts were missing...nut house auction goers. Greedy Crusties ruined it.
Had one back in the day and only cost me £1200 brand new, it was an iconic bike back then but I wouldn’t pay this kind of silly money it wasn’t that good. The other thing is you could ride this bike on provisional license back then, I still remember people riding 250s on a provisional they were the good old days until the government started screwing bikers.
I think most of the 250's from the 70-'s were pretty shocking. I had a Honda CB250T, an Suzuki GT 250 and a Yamaha XS250. All handled pretty badly and the only one that was not slow was the Suzuki which had a bit of zip to it. The Yamaha 250LC came out in 1980 and that was a nice bike.
2 strokes are the way to go. They don't make them any more, & they smell great.
Gotta love an RD400, one of the best bikes ever made in my opinion and I totally love mine.
The Gold Wing looked a very nice bike and the Triumph was a great bike for the money.
Wow some great deals there, congratulations to all new owners
Nice looking bikes ,, 😅

Interesting some nice bikes..
How do find where these auctions are

Yes, overpriced junk
Yea somehow labelling something as a barn find seems to be viewed as a good thing 🤷♀️. When it’s just something that’s been abandoned to rot away.
To true. Most imported bikes at the big dealers are nothing more than scrap.

Should have increased the bidding on the RD.
I like the DT 175
Do the auctioneers charge the buyer?
50 pound bids are they way to go..another 50 quid is always doable
7750 plus commision and freight
U buy that bike at 7500, keep a couple of yrs,ull get 10grand all day long, proper collectors 👍👍

If you want a bike you had in the day and have the money, why not .

£7.55 K for a two stroke RD400, someone will wake up with a bad hangover.
What’s with this make no mistake at home? Like bid on a caravan!
DT1750 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Eee,exx,you,pee"...EXUP...WTF?
£7550 for a 400 Yamaha, he’s obviously got more money than sense
That’s a very nice pocket rocket but serious money. Tempting though for a bit of fun.
Honda 400,4,supersport1991 still got her mint every bit of paper there too .
I bought one new in 1980... I think it was £700 on the road. If only I knew then that they would fetch this price.
@@Crosshatch1212 1991?
Yes, it's a big wedge of money, but I'd gladly pay it for a beauty like that.......if I had it to spare 😂
The bikes80s was horrible, if you compare to 70s
Terrible auctioneer ........RD400 in 50 quid increments, a joker
This auctioneer is terrible, it's amateur hour .
Rd400 crap bike more m0ney than sense
Don't make a comment unless it's Positive.

I had the rd 250 horrible bike, can't imagine the 400 was much better.
