Nastia needed to start that comeback about 3 months earlier. She wasn't in shape, and she needed that extra time to get the endurance she was going to need. The skills were pretty much there, and more numbers would obviously help the form and perfecting the skills and connections, but ultimately the downfall was not having the conditioning to pull everything together for a routine. I love Nastia's style and would have loved to see her back, but she didn't do herself any favors to increase her chances. This is why Chellse's comeback is much more realistic and doable. She is already in amazing shape, had been in the gym working out and even doing skills prior to committing to a comeback, and she also has an entire year now given the olympics were postponed.
They were already bending the rules for BOTH of them to be able to qualify with only one event. Nastia delivered a hit routine that season when she needed to most and Chellsie didn't.
Nastia is amazing i love you so much and your inspiring and so beautiful keep it up annd dont let people pull you down......and blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make your shine brighter
I know that since the last olympics, they upgraded the free aerials to a D instead of a C or something like that, that's also why since then, almost every gymnast has it their beam routine
had she been more competition ready, she could've easily taken Kyla's spot and would have probably had a good chance of medalling on bars and beam..but mostly beam ;)
I know it's a long shot, but people also said that at the last Olympics when she had been injured. She showed them then, and she can show them again. I HATE that there are only five athletes though. So stupid.
I want seven athletes again, like the 1996 Olympics. Gymnastics has grown in popularity as a sport, the difficulty level has gone up *so* much, and we're not showcasing a fraction of the talent that we could.
No, not a requirement. What most gymnasts do is do the same aerial-bhs-layout to fulfill a chunk of the requirements and then chuck single skills for the rest of the routine, just seems she chose the side somi which even though is a little risky she's done for years, the free cartwheel is actually new probably to replace her old "signature move that's not in the code anympre" and unfortunately had a huge wobble day 2...
actually cassie scerbo is an actress singer dancer and gymnast. she's trained in gymnastics thats why she is cast in cheer and gymnastics movies and shows. she obviously isn't nastia liukin, but she is a damn good gymnast
Split Mount sucked.....she is going to fast......front arial was fenominal....her backwalkover and layout were great...nice leap...very nice skill after that........nice double leap combo.....she lost ballance on the second turn after her double leap combo........nice side arial........another nice arial....she needs to put her head bak more on that leap.....Ending with a beautiful dissmount! 4 out of 13 of the skills were bad 8 out of the 13 of the skills were good...
Yes why would they take an AA gymnast who averaged 15.500 on UB through Championships and Trials when Nastia was right there with her 13.700 bars average and 0's on VT and FX? 🤡🤡🤡 Edit: Ross also had a substantially higher beam average.

The woman's still got it. Imagine what she'd be able to do if she'd been able to pull her training together earlier in the season. What a champ.
We will always love you nastia
monica bogdan what was wrong with her?
Jason Du
she didn't train early enough before coming back so she made a LOT of mistakes, especially on bars
Nothing was really wrong other than a few old injuries and lack of stamina. To do all that takes a lot and she just didnt have the stamina to keep up
So Marta was willing to give Nastia more time but refused to give Chellsie another chance after classics even though she was in better shape?
Nastia was gonna bring ratings up, so of course they kept her
Oh absolutely. The only reason nastia was there was due to favoritism. Just to have her blow up
They were already bending the rules for BOTH of them to be able to qualify with only one event. Nastia delivered a hit routine that season when she needed to most and Chellsie didn't.
I love Nastia's style.
Damn she's graceful
Whoever is using Rama Lama as their floor music is some badass.

too bad she doesnt do the liukin anymore
I think it got banned that quad then brought back
@@kevinsam3078 It wasn't banned. It was just removed from the CoP.
I always liked her 2.5 twist. She and Jordyn Wieber were very good at those off beam.
Ya
had she been more competition ready, she could've easily taken Kyla's spot and would have probably had a good chance of medalling on bars and beam..but mostly beam ;)
Does anyone know what the music is at 0.50?

Now it’s 4!
I want her to make the team again
2 Olympic all around champions in the frame at 1:53. :)
what is the name of the song in the background? please awnser
what was her difficulty score for this routine?
Courtney Thurston 6.3 if they counted the switch ring but 6.1 if they didnt

ChainChomp2 5 years later lol but i thought the liukin was still in the code?
Kennedy Baker!

bang bang flash bang bing bang bing bong ding dong duhn dun duh dun dun
It was like 55% of what she did on olympics...
um sweetie lauren tanner isn't real.
Huh?
im trying to figure that out too. :/
Thats some ugly ass floor music in the back
Ok, so... 8+4=12... and the last skill?? ;)
Wow rude
0:15
Her head was not all the way back for either of her jumps that's a blind landing. So not satisfied especially compared to the rest of the routine.
i was there (:
Same i was there too
Cassie Scerbo is an actress and a dancer. She's not a gymnast. Oh, and "Make it or break it" is just a TV Show.. in case you didn't know.
I agree on the mount it was fast but she did great dont judge people
She's almost as good as Lauren Tanner (aka Queen of the Beam)
The fact they took Ross over Nastia is an abomination.
