The bottom is thin because it is a synthetic type material. The Top is made of a goose down type of material. Which is smart cause goose down breaks down after many nights of bieng slept on.
Thanks. I didn't mean to say it is necessarily a bad solution. It is just that when I was getting that bag, it was not mentioned on the TNF page. And some people are e.g. side sleepers, who turn with the bag, so it might be useful to know.
I believe that this is a purely synthetic bag, without any down. Also, it seems that the insulation has been changed from Heatseeker Pro to Heatseeker Guide recently, so the PFC treatment might also have changed.
