When cameras were introduced at my school, I was so confused as to why, to be honest. Now I see they're incredibly important for situations like these.
Not only was she unsafe to a member of staff by lying about a teacher assaulting her, but it also makes it harder for people coming forward with genuine stories to be believed (something which I think should have been pointed out to her at the time)

It has happened plenty of time and certainly way more than it should have. This is why it's hard to take accusations seriously as well which means that legitimate cases often get shrugged off. The results of such accusations are genuinely devestating and false accusations should result in punishment of the same length as someone who had committed assault.

@@stun4074 It genuinely is, it can lose someone time in work, cost them reputation making them unemployable and as a result can lead to someone losing their home/family. It has happened plenty of time and certainly way more than it should have. This is why it's hard to take accusations seriously as well which means that legitimate cases often get shrugged off.
The results of such accusations are genuinely devestating and false accusations should result in punishment of the same length as someone who had committed assault.

My mother in law got suspended for 3 weeks for an accusation made by a 5 year old... yes you heard that correct. It transpired that another member of staff was able to confirm she wasn’t even in the schoolyard, at the time of the alleged assault. She left the school for not supporting her.
