These are the perfect summer cookies! I love all lemon desserts! The kids distracted me and I forgot to add the lemon juice but they still turned out super delicious. My husband hates lemon desserts but he LOVED these cookies! Thanks Sam for sharing another yummy lemon recipe!

I wouldn’t recommend it because the flavor isn’t as strong. You can increase the lemon zest by about a teaspoon for a stronger flavor and then go check out my lemon brownies recipe and use the glaze on top of the cookies instead of the powdered sugar. 😊 ua-cam.com/video/rPDEris3IiE/v-deo.html
Lemon juice is not nearly as potent so you would need much much much more of it, it has a high water content and makes the cookies cakey instead of chewy. It didn’t work well here.
I have no idea! We were just starting the remodel on our kitchen and we looked at so many countertops. We actually picked one out and then the sample just sat on the counter for a few days. I had to call and tell the contractor I can’t do that color anymore I need to change it. 😂😂😂
I'm too old to be pregnant, but smells are becoming more heightened for me. For example, what do people wash their clothes with? I smell. The deodorant. Perfume. And so much more. So, I can understand why you reacted to a particular countertop.

It seems like a good recipe. Although I am not sure I have cream of tartar. What is its primary purpose? The tang?
When paired with baking soda, it gives the cookies their crinkly tops, helps them spread, and adds to the tangy lemon flavor.
is there anything i can use to substitute cream of tartar?
Some people have used lemon juice with success.

I guess you could use limes but the flavor won't be the same.

I'm pretty selfish with lemons! Can I dunk the unbaked cookies in juice and then toss in powdered sugar since glazes are sometimes too sweet. 🤔

I do have a funfetti I cookie recipe but it still tastes like a cookie. It’s going to be hard to get the cake taste in a cookie.
