Kingfish is good! Especially the size you were catching, and the way you cleaned them! The Bang Bang Kingfish looks like a winner; I will try it sometime for sure. Thanks again Tug; love your videos! The prep and cook (and enjoyment of the resource) is a real good addition to each and every adventure!
Kingfish is big money here in Trinidad and Tobago, and it’s cooked in manny different ways. It’s amazing how things are so different in countries that are so close to each other. Keep making good videos, love your content.
Agree with some of the comments below. I love Kingfish, never had an issue "making Kingfish taste good". Not my first choice of fish to eat, but tastes just fine to me, and I like the dense meat, very filling. I fry it it with no batter in the pan with just a little avacado oil and some butter and lemon on medium heat. Turns a beautiful bright white with a bronze crust from the butter. Cooks up so fast the issue is not letting it dry out.
Get video!! Thanks for showing the rigs you run on your boat and setting up rigs. I have same boat. No downrigger. I have 2 rod riggers. The recipe looks great!
I got a kingfish a couple years ago and threw it in some whole milk and then got busy with work and it sat in the fridge for like 2- 2 1/2 days but I wasn't going to waste it. So when I took it out and grilled it with bbq sauce it was like a steak. Now it's my favorite! Firm and delicious. Perfect fish sandwich or on some rice. Please try it with a little piece and let me know. Probably sounds crazy but it'll blow your mind
unwritten rule at my house but what my roommate and i have been going by for years is we both fish and dive together. i love filleting so i’ll most likely fillet everything. i cook, but he cleans up the kitchen lol but i do the decent thing of cleaning some as i go. he’ll tupperware left overs and clean the pots and pans lol love channel btw. if you’re ever in miami. i’ll take ya fishing
Good morning Tug and Crystal,B First things First ! I had 3 heart attacks in 15 hours on the 21st. They put only one heart stent in. Had half block artery. Am good , went for my first mile walk this morning. Did great. ok that's out of the way !☺ Nice setup you added to the boat. down rigger help out. nice set of kings. Now I never saw the slice thin style and pop meat out, so that was a new one for me. Am with you the regular way of cleaning the fish is better, more fish not to waste. cool idea for boom boom shrimp name turn it around for the kings. The dish look great ! enjoy family ! see you on the next one. Be Bless
Rumor on the street is your putting out some very Werth while videos, of which I've found out to be true, for a man who totally lives on the water 24/7 . This is what us fisherman love bro, always looking forward to your new ones!!!!
My Goodness That Looked Amazing 😍😍 I would love that style fish chopped up on a Fish Taco🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Awesome Fishing, Another Great Video… With A Delicious Looking Dish💯💯💯👊🏻👊🏻Thanks For Sharing!! Happy Memorial Day To You And Your Family.. God Bless🙏🏻
The rule at my house is,#1 I cook the fish,#2,wet hand, dry hand,#3, I always cook my fish light golden, and finish in the oven 7 to 10 minutes. But that doesn't mean it's better than anyone else. Always willing to learn. Appreciate the rig tie as well!!!
B is such a little Crystal. She is definitely a mini-me , she is a spitting image of her mother. I heard Ian say he met B five years ago. I would not have known that B wasn’t his own child.
Love the video man we have trolled that area every summer for about 5 years in a 20ft bay boat as well. I love that your content is real. Awesome video
Tug I love my bang bang sauce, make mine almost the same except I add a little sour cream to mine, As for the King Fish You can have it, I have tried it 7 ways to Sunday and won't go out of my way to eat it, Just too oily along with a strong taste but each to his own. Today we were over in Melbourne and went to a place called Direct Seafood, everyone goes there to buy seafood even the restaurants all over Florida buy from them, so we loaded up and bought Red Snapper, Grouper Cheeks and Mutton Snapper. I tell ya they got it all and as fresh as it comes. Occasionally we go to Lombardi's to buy fish, also an excellent choice.
I’m new to your channel and really like your videos I have watched a lot of them today. Enjoy the fishing and cooking part the most. I’m a crappie fisherman. One day I will get to go salty water fishing. Keep up the great videos sir.
Another great video thanks for the fishing tip in the rig that looks delicious I never had king fish before I never had that sauce either I might have to try and buy something and make it myself thanks for the vid 😁😁😁👍👍👍✌️🇺🇸💪
Downrigger fishing started in W. Michigan from the introduction of salmon into Lake Michigan in the 60's. Interesting story in its self. At a young age I fished off a dock of one of the first inventor.. Jack King. Muskegon my home town became the start of the Downrigger rigger manufacturing industry. The stories I have ... my first salmon, 1969 ish.. still at it! Enjoy your views!
Awesome video! Love the idea of the bang bang sauce. Next time add a splash of white vinegar, fresh lemon juice and instead of sriracha use sambal chili sauce. I used to work you had everything else right! 👍🏻
that looks awesome! something i like to make to go with Asian food that's been fried or has a really creamy sauce is some quick pickles. they are really tasty, a little sour, easy to make, and they help balance out the meal. i think they would of been perfect to serve on the side with your bang band kingfish here's my basic recipe: 1 cucumber (cut in half lengthwise then thinly sliced into half circles) 2 green onions (cutup like you did in this vid) ¼ cup rice wine vinegar (distilled white vinegar will work fine too) 2 Tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon sesame oil if you want some heat choose 1: 1 teaspoon chili paste or sriracha or 1 teaspoon chile flakes or 1 Tablespoon of chopped up spicy chilies of your choice you can also add in shredded carrot, raddish, red onion, ginger... mix up everything except for the veggies and taste to see if you need more sugar or soy sauce or anything. seriously, i never measure, just do it by eye and taste to make sure it's good. then add in your veggies let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes, but it's better if you leave it over night. but i know you're not gonna wanna wait till the next day, i almost never do, so if you make this first and throw it in the fridge, then start cooking everything else, it will have marinated long enough by the time you're ready for dinner
Great video Tug! I’ve had kingfish a couple times in Florida that we caught and I’ve only eaten it steaked or filleted and I love it. Great video, like the way you do different things with the fish. Could you still fillet the side that you got the chunks from and smoke the rest of the meat for smoked fish dip so it's not wasted? Nice rig set up.
Nice video Ian! 👏🏼 Thanks for giving your honest opinion on the fish balling thing. Def won’t try that. That fish looked amazing! I’m sure Krystal and Bianca love when you cook! Way to go on these videos!

that was certainly an interesting way of doing it on that first side of the kingfish. maybe a certain size fish is better for not leaving so much meat behind, who knows. enjoyed the video
Thanks for taking the clicker (googan alert) off... it means a lot to anyone who has spent time waiting for it to scream! Excellent recipe!!!
Sometimes for filming I’ll leave them on so y’all can hear the drag 🤷🏼♂️
Some people don't know they are disturbing others with their unnecessary noises - others don't care.
For my wife and I, it’s the same rule. Whoever cooks doesn’t do the dishes lol. Great video, keep up the great work! 👍
Yea sir! Thanks

I love kingfish. I don’t understand why so many hate on it. They are usually the ones who think red snapper is the best fish in the sea.
Red snapper are the worst snapper to eat

I actually know a little bit about Michigan. I killed my first deer there. I spent a few summers on Torch Lake growing up.
Great video and that looked tasty. The one knuckle trick, I watch Quang Tran and he does that on his videos.

something i like to make to go with Asian food that's been fried or has a really creamy sauce is some quick pickles.
they are really tasty, a little sour, easy to make, and they help balance out the meal.
i think they would of been perfect to serve on the side with your bang band kingfish
here's my basic recipe:
1 cucumber (cut in half lengthwise then thinly sliced into half circles)
2 green onions (cutup like you did in this vid)
¼ cup rice wine vinegar (distilled white vinegar will work fine too)
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
if you want some heat choose 1:
1 teaspoon chili paste or sriracha
or
1 teaspoon chile flakes
or
1 Tablespoon of chopped up spicy chilies of your choice
you can also add in shredded carrot, raddish, red onion, ginger...
mix up everything except for the veggies and taste to see if you need more sugar or soy sauce or anything. seriously, i never measure, just do it by eye and taste to make sure it's good. then add in your veggies
let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes, but it's better if you leave it over night. but i know you're not gonna wanna wait till the next day, i almost never do, so if you make this first and throw it in the fridge, then start cooking everything else, it will have marinated long enough by the time you're ready for dinner

That one ya ya caught on the jig was a tank!
Those are perfect sized kings for eating, and kingfish is good long as you eat it same day and its a smaller fish
Yes sir
I caught three of them off my sailboat trolling at 5.5 knots. Not sure if that is "slow" or not but they will hit at that speed
For lures faster is good we are pulling live baits which is why we go slow

Kingfish are fun they fight good and are willing feeders. Another way to get good kingfish medallions is to steak them through each vertebrea. Then pull them out. No blood no bones perfect.
