Best Art Film/Doc Portobello Film Festival 2021Editors Cut

This is a short half hour film Directed by Joe Kargbo and Paul Merron with camerawork & editing by Paul Merron featuring artists and performers from artist and (Art Below) curator Ben Moore's exhibition at this temporary gallery situated in the dilapidated ruins of the old Fulham Town Hall a 51.000 sq ft building which has been transformed from a run down squatted building into a fully functioning art gallery with months of work put in creating a magnificent complex of rooms from prison cells to safes and even a ballroom. Ben bought in fellow curators MC Llamas - The Women’s Rooms The Tribe, featuring female artists Holly Allan, Pauline Amos, Kiera Bennett, Dana Berber, Elodie Carrel, Arietta Chandris, Catherine Eldridge, Abigail Fallis, Nancy Fouts; Anna Kenneally; Lily Lewis; Bip Ling; Jil Mandeng; Marion Mandeng; Sarah Maple, Tuesday Riddell, Savannah Macmillan, Jessica St. James, Chloe Karayiannis and Nettie Wakefield and Alex Fatho who curated "Wrestling Demons" in the old Medical wing, Big Issue Guitar Project, and not forgetting Alice Southwood and Katya the Artist who transformed the Courtroom complete with it's majestic stained glass windows into a art gallery/music venue presenting weekly live shows each Friday night whilst also performing themselves. There was many other live performances from a cellist and ballerina, poets, percussionists, DJ sets and daily appearances of Mo'Sean a performance artist. The space was provided by Guy Ziser and The Lamington Group who kindly offered it to Ben Moore who took on the epic task of creating what had been described as the fourth most significant art gallery on Earth whilst it was open. Here we have endeavoured to capture the essence of the month it was on. Sadly many artists were from overseas and unable to be there themselves but we did manage to interview quite a few who attended whilst we were on site which was most days of the exhibition.
