Zappa's idea for a talk show reminds me of Bill Maher's Real Time (previously, Politically Incorrect).

I never got to see Frank live but did get to meet, party with and watch, “The Grandmothers” with Jimmy Carl Black! He was the nicest approachable guy and have a beer with. Zappa joined The Mothers, he wasn’t a founder. “Sonny” was Jimmy’s nickname told me that when Frank joined The Mothers, he told them he’d make them “rich and famous”, to which “the Indian of the group” said, “we got famous but not rich”.

Basically zappa’s band (if large enough, and tutored by zappa) would be fundamentally better in performance

With Melodyne, Frank would have been over the moon - he would have been able to reach into recordings and right the wrongs played by the musicians who had not the proper time to get it down. I'd like to reach into this video and into his chest and remove the cumulative effects of the cigarettes and maybe he would not have died from cancer. I'm here in the future, Frank, and in the next future maybe Celemony will have invented such a tool...sure it sounds nuts - I'll bet Melodyne would have to Frank.

    Sorry if I've offended anyone.
    Wasn't my hope.
It's not fun sometimes, but I hope i.made someone smile or laugh as that's a much better pill than Eli Lilly makes.

Being "outrageous" just for that sake isn't very interesting or unique. It mostly signals you have nothing to say

"how do you get the London symphony orchestra?"
    "You pay them"
It's funny how everyone laughed there when it's just a normal guy telling the truth. It kind of highlights how fake everything else coming out of the entertainment industry is.
